I was charged $84 by Vimeo, I have no Acct and not able to contact one person in customer support service to rectify the fraudulent charge.
I am disabled, retired professional, hospitalised, and somehow they extracted money through my credit card. Money was recovered. It is a scam! Avoid.
I remember when this platform was THE PLACE outside of YouTube for exploring video shorts etc. Now it's gone to garbage. I have a trial membership because I am not getting tanked (screwed) for something that doesn't work. I've attempted several times to upload a dozen or so clips that I assumed would automatically capsulate, the same as standard PC moviemaker. Nope. It uploaded my clips separately, and then keep freezing on me when I tried to "merge" them all into a single video. Such a joke.
I have no idea how they can lie about an unlimited account. They DO NOT HAVER UNLIMITED accounts even though they advertise them. After being with them for 5 years or more they contacted me to say that I was using too much bandwidth and they gave me 11 days to pay them $5400 or have my account shut down. This happened 30 days after renewing my account for the next year. They say it is unlimited but they have fine point in the terms of service that says it is limited. You will never know when you reach the hidden limits. I have the entire email chain that I will make public soon as I could not believe that this was happening. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.
I attended the webinar in part because I wanted to see if they provided anything of benefit. Also, I wanted to receive the 1 hour of "free" CLE credit. Upon completing the session, I did not receive a course number for CLE credit and though I tried to reach out to them by email to seek this information. They did not answer me back. If they are this deceptive at the outset, then I am pretty sure that I do not want to do business with them further.
They took my money for TOMO FUJITA GUITAR WISDOM guitar lessons and when I tried to cancel, they refused to reimburse me. My wife gave me a yearly subscription and when it was not what I thought and I try to cancel, they refused to reimburse me. They kept saying, sell it to someone else. Beware, very bad company.
Registered 9 AUD a month PLUS plan to upload a 3MT video to site as a student. It was a requirement of the 3MT. After a month they charged 111.10 AUD. This site is stealing money from people and can't contact them back either. It used to be a good place. But I won't recommend this to anyone. As a student who is living on my schol this is a ripoff.
First off, customer support - it sucks with only canned responses. There were so many incompatible upload formats on Vimeo and when it was the right format, the web uploaded often glitched out. It wasted way too much of my time, so I looked into alternatives.
MediaZilla is light years better, especially if you have multiple videos in one project. It's like a Netflix style delivery of video and easy to embed anywhere. I've never had a problem with the uploader and customer support is super responsive. Also the pricing model is way more transparent than Vimeo.
Locked my content without warning once i quit paying. Paid the extortion to renew and basic functions no longer work(upload from resolve, aspect ratio broken/stretched on files that look fine in vlc/QT player/all other players. It is quickly loosing its appeal over youtube. I hope the investors are happy when everyone quits paying for this crap in the next 6 months.
This company is dispicable, They waited until I had a large library up and offered to my customers then told me I had to pay thousands more or they would cut me off in under 2 weeks. Stay as far from them as you can.
Vimeo is the worst platform to use based on my own experience.
Their censors revel in a capricious & bias exercise of their policies in ways that's detrimental to any content creator. I would give them no stars, if it was possible.

Vimeo is its own format and hyperlinks not compatible with eScreenz. We use eScreenz. So we can use YourTube and every other hyperlink known to man... but not Vimeo.
Won't answer phone. Calling for days everyday. Nevwe have called back. Tricked me with the free month. DO NIT TRUST.
Dont use vimeo, they will falsely flag you then then suspend your account without warning you. You will lose your videos so back them up.
My pro account was terminated for what they deem a violation of "rip tv content". I had paid for a yearly subscription. I was not selling the videos but I was translating them into Spanish and other languages. Maybe it was my ignorance because I had thought it was fair use. Vimeo terminated the account and refused to refund the remainder of my subscription which is 7 months left. They say, it falls outside of the 30 days. No duh! It's a yearly subscription that they terminated. In that case, why didn't they removed the videos only if they weren't going to refund my subscription money? This is very fraudulent practices. It's a scam. They knew they'd be able to deny any refund by stating it falls outside 30 days. They write these "policies" to server their interest/pocket.
I'm not saying I'm not wrong. Maybe I was and didn't know the policies around video content. But it doesn't excuse Vimeo's practices. Clearly, I'm not the first they've done this to:(
I hope my experience will help others to not have to lose a couple hundred dollars.
Update: I filed a PayPal claim for fraud and disputed the transaction that Vimeo terminated my account and refused to refund the remainder of my 7 month subscription period. Attached is the result of the dispute. If anyone faces the same situation as me and used PayPal, dispute the charge and tell your case. Obviously, Vimeo's actions aren't right because the case was decided in my favour. Don't let Vimeo get away with cheating. Thank you justice!
I signed up for the free trial. Watch one church service and then could never get back into the account. Every time I tried to get a password reset or get in touch with them the link would say oops something went wrong. They do not have a phone number and when I finally found a way to ask for help they do not answer their so called support request for days, so there is no way to get issues resolved at all, then it's just back and forth thru some kind of forum or email so you wait days for the reply each time. I had to find another way to watch the service. Then come to find out they charged me 84.00 for something I can't even use.
I paid for this pile of garbage. I spent an hour trying to upload a video and got a message that it was invalid BECAUSE IT IS TOO SHORT! IT IS FIFTEEN MUNUTES IN LENGTH It is impossible to reach support person!
I created an account to show a 42 second clip. All it showed (mostly silhouette) was an American flag and an American flag with blue line blowing in the wind above a fence on a overpass. The only sound is cars honking horns. I tried to log in eight hours later and the account was disabled. On top of that, there is no way to find out exactly what hurt their feelings.
These guys are sharks! They will make all of the promises to make you sign a contract telling you how good thier services are but dont be fooled.
- Live streaming is glitchy.
- Uploading videos takes waaaay too long and is expensive.
- Customer service to YOUR customer base is terrible and takes days to get a response.
- If you have problems they very firmly remind you that you are in contract and they will persue legal action if you attempt to get out of it.
Plus, there are tons of other options coming out all the time now.
They are Scum. STAY AWAY FROM VIMEO OTT.
A free trial that immediately collects £263 total disgrace.

Answer: I'd check the fine print. Then I'd check again. Then I'd have a backup plan if you're gonna use Vimeo. In case you wake up one morning and you can't access any of your videos.
Answer: I heard that Vimeo is very anti-Semitic, they wanted to make a Jewish co-host lose his job at a pro-peace channel. It's just like another holocaust in my opinion... or even worse, the immigration crisis of Latin Americans going to the US.
