Service to start 2/2023, didn't show, didn't have the courtesy to call us that they weren't coming! Spouse took off from work, waiting for them to show up, to go over the things that the aide would be doing! They put on a good act job, during the first meeting, even had their nurse do an assessment visit and the nurse just bragged how wonderful this company is towards their clients! This office overstepped their bounds, which was verified by a different branch! So without warning Visiting Angels, just decided that they didn't want to take care of my spouse, who, by the way is wheelchair bound! Since when did we start to ignore the health and wellbeing of people! They were hired to provide a service, so I would have peace of mind, while at work, knowing that someone was there to assist my spouse during the day! My spouse had fallen before, and was laying on the floor for many hours, before I got home from work! That was very heartwrenching, and the reason why having a home health aide was important to the both of us! I don't want other disabled people who are considering caregivers, not to get conned by Visiting Angels! First impressions mean everything to me, and by them not showing up, nor calling, speaks volumns for this office.
My grandmother is missing a lot of valuables including jewelry after her "visiting" angels came to her home. It wasn't coincidental - valuables were missing after their visits.
CNA'S DO NOT COME HERE NONE COMPASSIONATE OWNER (MARIE), RUNNING A BUSINESS AND DO Y Want to PAY CNA'S ENOUGH SAVE YOUR TIME GO ELSE WHERE SO YOU CAN GET PAID YOUR WORTH AND THEY ARE NOT HONEST A ONE CLIENT CASE WOULD TURN OUT TO BE A TWO CLIENTS CASE WHILE YOURE GETTING PAID FOR ONE SATU AWAY
Very unreliable, they would show up late, leave early, or just not show up. Most of them did nothing but play on their phone.
Lousy service and very dishonest from top down. Bill you for hours when nobody was even there. Most of the caregivers don't do anything.
Very unprofessional, lying about caregivers showing up. Wouldn't ever recommend then to watch my trash.
A Relative was receiving care from Visiting Angels in Norfolk, NE. It was relayed to me that the level of unprofessional communication from management is undesirable to say the least. While discussing the care plan, Sara Luhr the Marketing director, was very crude and abrupt when speaking to her elderly disabled client. There is a way to communicate your concerns and this was NOT it. It appears that the pressing issue with Visiting Angels was not the client and her needs, but rather a staffing issue. However, their frustration's with this, was then taken out on the client as well as her family. The client was belittled and downgraded by Sara Luhr making it seem as if the client was a burden on the company. The family was told they were required to fill shifts when caretakers call out? This is an absurd expectation as this family is paying Visiting Angels to care for the client. During this interaction, the Owner (Julie Labadie) was there observing this disgusting/ childish behavior from her colleague Sara. I would expect the owner of the company to intervene but that was not the case. When I spoke to my elderly disabled family member, she was emotionally distraught after the interaction. This IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! After doing some research, I have also learned caretakers expressing dissatisfaction on how they are spoken to on daily basis by management. Example: Text messages in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS to show the caretaker they are yelling at them. Changes need to be made or this location will go under in a matter of time. Word of mouth does travel fast and I will make sure of it. I have many connections to this town, thanks to my now retired profession with the City of Norfolk. The conclusion to this lengthy review, is that our family has now hired a more reputable/professional company to care for our loved one.
My case manager assigned Visiting Angels to me as a night time resource for my evening nursing care. From the very beginning communication was poor and inconsistent. The owner Tom Smith came to do my assessment and actually left my paperwork here in my home. He then told me care would start that following Sunday evening. No one came Sunday or Monday of that following week. I had to call Visiting Angels, myself on Tuesday to ask about my potential care provider. Now after this, I had 6 different people in my home within 2 weeks. I have 10 year old twin girls. I did not like random people coming every night. I called their office, spoke to " Connie", "Robin" and even the weekend person "Ailene" and reiterated my preference of 1 or 2 of the same care givers. This past week I had no care giver July 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. I was never called, until Wednesday July 4th. Ailene attempted to be oblivious of the fact that no aide had come to service me. ABSOLUTE LIARS! I was placated, lied to and assured that the "merry-go round" of Nurse aides would stop. That was a lie! The staff are not trained or licensed professionals. They are not CPR certified or CNA certified. Everyone in the office is dishonest with the patients upon inquiry. Out of the 10 women that came in out of my home only 2 of them were professional, competent and did their job well. Some of these women were on their cell phones, watching T. V and attempting to talk the time away. Visiting Angels Delaware is disorganized, ran poorly, staffed with dishonest people and most of all they really do not care about the patient's care. That was evident in the mismanagement, lack of communication and disregard for my needs as a patient!
I am so grateful and appreciative that my Medical Insurance Case manager advocated for me and continues to do so for my care
DO NOT EMPLOY THIS AGENCY TO CARE FOR YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE!
