Watch for scams

This title was flashing when I foolishly put $200 on a walmart card in 2021 just before the holidays? The irony is the card itself is an out and out scam.
I tried using the card the day after activating it only to be told it was not valid... like WTF! Then their useless customer service said the card was hacked?... seriously... they happily take your cash and transfer it on to a card that gives one exactly nothing in return after their own investigation,all you get is a lame explanation after being promised you will get another card with your name on it with the full amount put back on it. BUT. Don't hold your breath as it never did come to pass.
It may be time to bring in big guns in the form of corporate lawyers who will completely destroy them in the court of public opinion and the news media.
Not to mention senior abuse and the punitive compensation damages that will be leveled against what was once thought of as a fair place to do business?. TOTALLY NOT TRUE and they will be forced to bear court costs too. Similar to how auto accident lawyers work. They only get paid WHEN You WIN which they definitely will. It's shocking these er managers never offered to settle out of court!

They refuse to help push through a transaction so I can get a pre authorization charge off waiting now 3 days for $50 that has just disappeared and they are useless. I Called 3 times waited for longer 30 min then to get an answer and still didn't help like is this company is completely useless wish I could have a job tha paid me for doing absolutely nothing!

I want my money

After losing my card and getting a new one, they blocked my account and will not give my Money, told me they would send me a check in mail I would receive in 2 weeks, now they want something verifying my address, which I live in a travel trailer so I move around, I have a mailing address, Which is not good enough, I have sent copy of w2, my drivers license some mail with my name and they refuse to give me my money

Hacked Account

I have had a Walmart money card for 5 years now and never had any problem in the past. The customer service always sucked and I agree with the other reviews it is hard to understand what the people at their call centers is saying, they do not speak good English, which I do not understand. How can they help me if they don't understand what I'm saying. Fast forward my account got hacked not once but twice, the first time right after Christmas and then the second time right after new years and I did everything they said I went and purchased a different card, I changed my password and I locked my card. And none of it helped, the hacker was able to change my information on my account like my phone number and email address and they was able to transfer my money from my account to a eft account. I advise anyone to do not get a Walmart MoneyCard because they should have alittle more security and protection, and they finished their investigation and still didn't have any information but they did send me a check that I haven't cashed yet because Walmart won't cash it even though it came from green dot bank so tomorrow I gotta go to a real bank in hopes of them cashing it. I take my information very seriously and I'm a private person so to have my personal information out there with some hacker is horrifying and I feel they failed me. Please do not get a Walmart MoneyCard it's not worth it, I feel like my cash app card got better security then this one. I don't know if it is someone that works at Walmart or someone else either way I'm done with Walmart MoneyCard and maybe even Walmart all together.

After purchasing my debit card online and activating it y'all have nerve to lock my card after entering my tax information to get my tax return then yall ask to send ID I sent that still my card locked smh
What are the cards for everyone is not a scammer

Total scam with worthless customer service

I put money on the card and made one purchase at a secure site, only to discover a second purchase was made at a different location. I tried to dispute the charge but they claimed the dispute was still pending and there was nothing they could do. They did nothing for further protection, said I had to wait until the funds either post or return to the account after a two week period. I tried to close my account and was hung up on. I did finally got my account blocked but it was already hacked into so who knows what was accessed. Do not get this card! I got it by accident in the first place and thought what will it hurt to activate it and use my cash…. Just don't! Negative stars weren't an option!

Ridiculous ATM fees

I've had this Walmart money card for about a year. I've had direct deposit from my employer deposited onto my Walmart money card. It's usually about $900.00 every 2 weeks. Today I was looking at my transactions and started adding them up. Since October 2022 they have taken over $80.00 in ATM fees. Some days they charged me 2 atm fees $2.50 each and then a $0.50 atm inquiring. And I am looking in the Walmart app and using atms from there. So I called customer service today and spoke to a gentleman who told me that even tho I'm using those atms I only get 4 free withdrawals a month and after that I'm going to be charged. He could reverse anything. So I asked to talk to a manager. He transfers me to a manager at the corporate customer relations. I explain my situation and this guy tells me I'm going to be charged sn atm fee every time unless I go to Walmart money center. I tell him what the gentleman before told me that after 4 atm uses then your charged. He says well man you were misinformed. He couldn't do anything to help me. So I started looking at the help center in the app and the FAQS. I can't find anything that's regarding atm fees. So I think this is shady and I'm not ok with this. I will be closing my account! Stay away!

Over draft protection

I think you should be able to use the over draft more than ten transaction's each month it should be unlimited as long as it's paid up what happens if you need to use it more than ten transaction's. It is helpful but not when it's on pause.

3 concurrent disputes

I would give zero stars. There customer service is worthless. All CSR's have heavy accents from another country very poor english spoken. My account was hacked and 1 of my 3 disputes was granted and they put the money back on my card that I could no longer use when I had instructed them to mail me a paper check and account got hacked soon after they made the deposit. My account was hacked for X amount of dollars and they are trying to say it was for a much smaller amount. I do not recommend Walmart money card to anyone at this point.

Fraudulent!

I have used a Walmart Money Card for several years now and never had a problem until now. One month ago I tried to use my card at a store I regularly go to and was declined. I looked at my account and the balance was well above the purchase amount so I called customer service and discovered my account had been blocked. They couldn't tell me why but told me how to get it unblocked. It took two weeks and three attempts following their instructions to re-gain access to my account. Tonight I tried to pay a utility bill, a bill I have paid every month for the last 9 years with this card, and was declined again. I check my account, and again the balance was well above the purchase amount and AGAIN my account was blocked. I contacted customer service again and was told my account was closed permanently due to security reasons/suspicious activity and that my funds would not be returned to me under any circumstances. I repeat, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WOULD THE $9000 I HAVE IN THAT ACCOUNT BE RETURNED TO ME! Since when is Walmart, utility bills and Amazon suspicious activity. They stated the investigation had been closed and refused to tell me what the suspicious activity was. At no point in the last month has anyone contacted me to even let me know my account had been hacked, blocked or under investigation. So if you don't mind having thousands of dollars stolen from you by a financial institution then this is the card for you. However, if you work hard for your money and expect it to be available to you at your discretion, keep looking.

No phone number for checking ballance and if there was it would most likely be a bad as the web site with its bull$#*! verification code that never goes through on my dumb phone. I had to sit with customer svc for a hour and a half to try and set up my card. I had to go home and use a different phone to get the stupid $#*! verification to go through and it still continues ever time i want to check my balance i have to get a verification code.its anoying and i hate it im about to just go back to paper check much easier to cash and no limits on how much money i can have.the card doesnt let you take it all. And the fees each time you use it.what? Am i 5 years old need to give my allowance each day.i dont want some program controlling my money.bull$#*!.to much computer programs running every damn thing. And next A.I. Will be the boss.BULL$#*! im not taking orders from a stupid robot. Ill take it to the pool for a swim.BOT REPLIES..."What us Swim" As i push its $#*! in the the deep end of the pool.too much tech running $#*!.P.S.REMEMBER.TERMINATOR...Its coming...shot guns ready...

The Walmart Money Card website is generated by Green Dot. Com These people in these times should allow secure passwords. The passwords are only allowed to have letters and numbers with only 16 digits maximum.

Most of us know this combination of pass word combinations are easy to hack. If someone has the user name it is only a few hours of an automated computer program trying passwords to get your money.

Do NOT use this card! Others are available with better security.

Do not get this card

I purchased a air line ticket through myflightsearch. Com. It was fraud. They take your money and never book your ticket and they also never refund your money. I contacted my Walmart money card to dispute it. They said there was nothing they could do.

Helpless

My card was compromised on 10/17/22. A new one was sent, I was not given the option of an Express delivery. 10 days goes by, nothing. The post office lost my card. I have zero access to my money, I'm not allowed to generate a barcode to go into a Walmart money center to pick up money. At this point I've racked up almost $200 just late fees because I can't pay my bills, my rent is now past due, that's going to cost me another $600 in late fees, I have no food in my fridge I'm a single mom and I work hard for my money. My phone is now shut off because I can't pay the bill. I have been a customer of theirs for 15 years! I ordered another card yesterday, thinking I could generate a barcode through the app, as I was told via email by a representative. No option was given for a barcode. I called customer service, they told me to call back within 24 hours so that I can get a barcode. Great, I thought. I call back 24 hours later and I'm told that my card is not eligible for a barcode. Wtf? How the hell can you treat people like this, give me MY money! Their fraud detection department is a total joke. This whole thing has cost me over $1,000. My kids an I are hungry, what happens if I have an emergency? This is criminal. I feel helpless.

Stinks

I have my paycheck deposited every week to my card. I use my card for everything. Well I received a settlement check for 33 dollars and I tried to put it on my card, nope said they couldn't verify my identity, I sent them a picture of the front and back of my license. I don't really think its walmart, I think it's green dot bank who is really not a bank and they suck real bad. Ii like walmart I just wish they were backed by another bank besides gdb. The most worst bank ever.

Customer service is dead

I do not recommend, customer service is atrocious and they will do nothing to help you. Of course something that should be pretty simple becomes an absolute cluster. I wish that consumers and customers still meant something to companies.
