“Donates their time to keep unsolved cases alive for grieving families without answers.”

Athena G.
10/17/20

Websleuths is a true crime forum that has every Unsolved missing persons or murder case in America (and beyond) and if it isn't there you can ask to add it. If it is legit they want it respectfully discussed. Websleuths is moderated by amazing volunteers that selflessly give their time to do research and simplify (ie. Maps, time lines, grids) the facts of unsolved cases for purposes of spreading awareness, while being sensitive to family members or loved ones. Sleuthing is the discussion involved inspiring eachother to use critical thinking and personal experience as a group reference for seeking the questions needed to ask in order to get the answers, one debunking or added fact at a time. I have a lot of respect for them.

“Websleuths is a Ficticious Site”

Robert M.
3/8/24

Most of the members posting on Websleuths dot com can be linked right back to Patricia Griffith's computer. Websleuths is an orchestra of fictitious members all being played by one lonely person with a mouse and keyboard. In the end it's just sad music.

People sit on threads and basically claim they own them you have site rules and then these gatekeeper rules, was there only a few days. So afraid of being sued even for a opinion site. It's hilarious. You can get the gatekeepers mad and going like crazy. I got banned by owner(hack that tries to make money off of dead and missing people), but also got the two gatekeepers banned. So much fun. Wasn't worth my time to learn petty rules and I mean petty. But it's well worth getting gatekeepers banned for a month. So long never been back.

Lots of rumor and speculation. It should be encouraged for members to back up statements with sources or links.
Moderators will remove comments referring to the death penalty Moderators will remove comments mentioning race in regards to statistics whether it is white, black, brown etc

Tricia lacks credibility. She is an opportunist that purchased the website at the right time.

Wrote three posts about the crap that Indigenous people endure in Australia. It was totally relevant and shed light on the motives to the case discussed All three posts were removed and I was banned. Also some zealous interaction by Silly Billy. Maybe they should change their name to Whiteslueths.

Come to this site and expect to be fully censored if your opinion differs from the fascist moderators and their militant cliques. They are the first ones to scream the smear "fascist" at anybody they don't like when in reality they exhibit all the signs of a fascist organization.

This true crime forum is amazing. Sign up, post about the crimes that fascinate you, crimes that you want to see solved, reveal what you see and know, follow the rules though because they don't allow any crap. Love it.

I registered with this website to follow a local missing-persons case and was blocked with the following message:
You are on a Time Out for the following reason:
"Is there any constructive reason for continuing this barely relevant thread?" After making this comment it is apparent you are not going to work out at Websleuths. I would try Topix.

Date the Time Out will be lifted: Never

Given the outrageous assumptions that were being aired on this site, I find their response to my comment unbelievable.

What is crazy about this site, is that they literally drive people away with their inconsistent moderation while begging for money. It's very strange and counterintuitive. It is also very cliquey. This makes no sense, as if the clique drives off new members, she will never make the money she is begging for. Ridiculous.

I got attacked, bullied, and put in time out for not saying nice things about Mollie Tibbets' murderer. They allowed the bullying, and they are searching for reasons to absolve a murderer. It's sickening. Websleuths jumped the shark.

It is impossible to even make a comment without someone else jumping down your throat if it doesn't match their own opinion/theory.
New users are treated like $#*! by the admins and the long time users.
Nobody follows the facts. They all just take whatever little bit of rumor they can find and run with it.
Many will try to start arguments rather than have a normal conversation.
It's an ugly ugly website full of $#*!s and morons.
I have only given 1 star because I can't give any less than that, however this place deserve no stars at all.

There's no sleuthing at all on WS. Once MSM posts news, it can be discussed.
The mods allow members to make false allegations against innocent people, make fun of handicapped persons & ridicule physical appearance of suspects & their family/friends.
Threads are repetitious with sophomoric remarks. Certain members compete for the most "likes" for their posts. There is a lot of humor, members think LE read WS & use their posts to solve crimes. I suspect if we could see the members, it'd be similar to an Aerosmith video. You know... the fat lady with curlers in her hair?
The same members are online pretty much 24/7. Once they've "solved" the case they are currently sleuthing, they will "report" anyone with the audacity to differ in opinion.
Wonder how many lawsuits are pending against WS?
If you want a laugh on a boring day, this is the place to go. If you truly have interest in a case, stay away.

From the start I said the family of Debbie Collier should be left alone. I suggested self inflicted death by butane inhalation.but it didn t fit their narrative to proffer off of another person s suffering so SillyBilly a/k/a bullybilly banned me from the site and said that she was keeping the site s owner aprised of my "not swell" remarks. Avoid this site like the plague if you want to retain a modicum of your human decency...

Site is supposed to be anti victim blaming... unless the victim is black. The same members will post 10 times in the span of a day about how a black victim deserved what they got. They don't say it flat out, instead they think they are being cute with their subtle jabs. The hate some black victims exceeds the hate some of the killers get. Then there's a thread about the Royal Family and it's literally the same 10 members trashing Megan Markle endlessly. Again the hate directed at baby killers doesn't even come close to the hate she gets. But if you dare call anyone out on their BS you'll get banned for making a personal attack. I decided I just couldn't take anymore. Too many crazies and generally nasty people.

It is so great to listen to and! I enjoy the chat because they are respectful and factual. She covers all types of subjects and interacts with the chat. I have been to other channels and it was awful. I found websleuths and would watch when I have free time. Than the stay at home Covid. Her and the subs have helped me through the stay at home. It's a amazing experience. If you blue she will chat with and the amazing people who are in the chat will as well. The websleuths community over all is a positive experience!

Long time member but I got peeved when a moderator slammed another member for something and the moderator was incorrect. When I corrected the mod, I was "shushed" and my posts deleted.

The mod was 100% incorrect and links were provided to prove it. But they don't like not looking good. They shut people up, and doing so in this situation could put lives at risk. This place is not what it once was. Avoid it. They put lives at risk in favor of not wanting their mods to look bad when they mess up.

It's seriously a rule. You can't call the mods out for being wrong. Wtf is that?

I was ban from the group for a month with threats of reporting me to management for allegedly posting false information. Everything I have researched in the Darlie Routier case is based on court documents, interviews by both myself and others and facts that can be found throughout the internet. I was judged and ban from that group without ever having the chance to defend myself. I was clear that the person who is running that groups only allows opinions and statements that go right along with his or her own beliefs in a case. I have tried to contact the admin of that group but have I haven't had any success. I very hurt by their actions and would no longer like to be a member of that fraudulent group or web page. I can not even remove myself from the group because I can not access my account.

It's a good place to find all of the information by Law enforcement and any witnesses in a Crime. Everything that is being said or has been said is in one place, but it is EXTREMELY limited in discussion. The moderators are extremely rude, and delete posts for some ridiculous reasons. They will not allow any questioning of their choice to allow or not allow certain sources, in fact they will NOT allow any criticism of them at all. They put members in Time Out when they break rules, not allowing them to post comments for 3 days. Its like we are 10 yr olds. They also have strict rules and a lot CANNOT be discussed that can be discussed on Twitter, Reddit, and Youtube. Only that said by law enforcement and the mainstream media sources Websleuths choose.

Websleuths is not worth anyone's time. Controlled by sad, rude Admins and moderators who live to harass members. What people on here have stated about the person who goes by the name Sillybilly is true.

This site used to be great, but the quality of the moderators has taken a nosedive. SillyBilly does a lot of moderation, and seems to try really hard but has very poor judgment, nitpicking at silly things but letting major ones slide. The conversations suffer because of it.

Trish has been at it for a long time and seems to have branched into other things, which is understandable, but without her leadership, other moderators have stepped into the vacuum with bad results. Really a shame.

Tip for consumers:
Just avoid and discuss missing people and true crime elsewhere.

Moderator Sillybilly is one of the worst moderators I've ever experienced. S/he censors people's posts based on individuals she's targeting at any given time. She <modsnips> all day, every day, inserting herself into a high number of comments. Sarcasm isn't allowed on WS, nor any hint of what they think it might be. You have to keep your comments to thoughts & prayers, unicorns, praying hands, and kissing the $#*! of any mod. If you don't write IMO or MOO 10 times they can't figure out you're writing your opinion and will delete a comment. $#*! for brains. This site should be avoided by anyone who wants an actual discussion. Every single post is monitored and once Sillybilly gets a bug up her $#*! she will look for reasons to give timeouts.

The psychologically impaired mods at WS make me pity their poor family. One would think they work in the WH or Secret Service, such is the rampant egomania and false sense of self-importance. Silly Billy is a dangerously close to illiterate bully, who would never have the guts to bully members if it had to waddle out from behind it's keyboard to face them. The owner comes off as a low rent grifter and cult leader wannabe. Toxic website. Seriously mentally defective owner and mods. They do not treat all posters equally, what is acceptable today will get a TO tomorrow. Time out, lolol. How condescending, as if their loyal members are children needing tough discipline, which the sadistic losers get off on dishing out. What a sick and sickening group of people, far too sick to be posting about missing children. What an empty, sad, life these idiots must have. Very abusive group.
My advice is treat this WS as if it doesn't exist. Hopefully soon it will not.

Tip for consumers:

This is a ridiculous site operated by people who totally discourage any discussion that might shed light on a crime. Admins and mods spend their time deleting so many posts that conversation becomes meaningless and repetitive. This is not to say members should be allowed to dox suspects or attack people who have no obvious connection to the crime, but risk assessment means talking about what and who the victims have been exposed to. WS has the potential to be a thoughtful and enlightening group, but not in the hands of present owner and her jackbooted admins and mods. Plus she's having a feud with another presenter on YouTube, and everyone is expected to back-up her quarrel. The only good thing is that membership is free because participating isn't worth one red cent.

I've been a member of WebSlueths for years. I've mainly read, but have also contributed to case threads.
Let's see...
Favoritism? Check. Biased Moderation? Check. Owner begging for money? Check? There is a ridiculously biased, uneducated Moderator who goes by the use-name "Silly Billy" ( I kid you not!), who is just intolerably bad at moderation.
I have given up all hope for WBS's The new platform is a nightmare of "issues", an only serves to amplify the already poor quality of moderation, The posters are made up primarily of elderly women, one of which the owner, Trisha Griffen, is fast becoming.

So, If you don't work, are retired and elderly, you might fit right in. Provided you have no common sense and you like to moan and wail over the death of small children
If, however, your middle age or younger, and analytical, plan on being placed on "Time Out" or banned!

Why anyone still uses this site is beyond me.
I see Tricia is bull$#*!ting about not making enough funds again and the threatening her members that the server is going to go down unless she raises 2000$ LMAO.
The most bizarre thing is, there is actually people donating their hard earned cash to her via PayPal, venmo and cash app. WAKE UP PEOPLE! She has endless ads on her website, as long as everyone keeps visiting her site (which they seem to be doing, you can check stats online) then she makes her money through the ads. So why the F are you donating any money to her? She is using you. She is lying to you. She is a fat lying fraud who is out right now now spending your money on her self.
How dumb do you have to be to actually send this $#*! money?

I've been a member for 6 years, had a decent post karma, but every single thing I said they had a problem with. They apparently have a 'point' system? That they arbitrarily give you points on your account, and some stay forever and you have 3 strikes or some $#*!. CocoChannel was following me around, editing every comment, and I said 'people in Idaho are mostly conservative' Banned. Because apparently you can't say anything about politics? I hadn't posted in years and I guess I pissed off someone in 2017 and Silly Billy was asking why I said something in 2017...like why would I remember lol. Idiots. All complete idiots. Rules aren't clear and are arbitrarily enforced...also they get mad if you report racism. They are racist af.
