I ordered a silky straight wig from WowAfrican on June 17th, but what I received was not what was advertised. I rarely wear wigs and decided to wear mine for the first time on February 17th. After a week, I decided to wash it for the first time. After just one wash, the hair became wavy/curly, proving that they had simply styled it straight rather than selling actual silky straight hair. This is blatant false advertising and deception.
I reached out to customer service, providing pictures, and instead of admitting their mistake, they tried to gaslight me into believing that silky straight hair is naturally wavy or curly! First, they told me their "straight hair" isn't really straight, which makes no sense... silky straight means straight, period. Then, they had the audacity to claim they sell a different type of "permanently straight" hair, something that is nowhere to be found on their website. They literally made things up, assuming I was too stupid to notice their contradictions!
After weeks of back-and-forth emails exposing their lies, they still refused to take responsibility. Instead, they expected me to pay €33.50 to return the wrong wig they sent. Why should I pay for their mistake? Any legitimate company would cover all costs when they send an incorrect product.
WowAfrican is running a scam, knowingly misleading customers and using manipulation tactics to avoid refunds. If you're considering buying from them, DON'T. They will gaslight you, send the wrong product, and refuse to fix the issue unless you pay extra. Avoid WowAfrican at all costs!

I ordered a reddish-brown body wave HD wig. The cap construction, lace, and sizing were good. I'd say about 70-80% of the knots were successfully bleached. However, the hair quality is not good enough to justify the price. It is dry, making it prone to frizz and tangling. It also sheds more than any other wig I've had, especially around the edges. Every time I wash it, chunks of hair fall out. I hoped this wig would last a long time, but I feel that its longevity will be short. Overall, I do not recommend this company.
This wig is absolutely AMAZING! This was my 1st wig by this company but I will be ordering more! The hair is super soft & looks & feels like your real hair very easy to maintain. It has barely shed any hairs at all. 5 stars isn't enough.
I ordered a wig with bleached knots and received one with half orange and half unbleached knots. Customer service was rude and unhelpful and I ended up paying a fee to return it. They also do not post negative reviews on their site.
Ordered and paid for the 150% Density 360 Lace Wig Natural Wave Brazilian Virgin Hair TLW23 total price was $346.00. After waiting for about a month without receiving my purchase, I wrote to the service desk inquiring about the purchase. I did receive responses from supposedly representative but with the responses I became more furious because their replies did not make a lot of sense. They told me that they needed to call me to verify the purchase since it was a big order. This was my first red flag! Then I sent them another email and I received an reply stating that she is on vacation on a beach until a certain date and then she would reply. This was a red flag! Needless to say the replies that were sent back to me were totally unprofessional with misspelled word and very bad grammar. Needless to say, I never received my order
I have bought two wigs from this company, a year apart. The first one I still wear daily, but I have been wearing it in less than optimal conditions in India for 9 of those months., and have been unable to properly care for it. It has been tangling a lot, especially in the past couple of months, but I believe that may be my fault. It needs a deep conditioning. Having said that, their hair is so soft and silky. I liked it so well that I bought another one this year, which I have not yet worn. But the hair is soft and smells amazing.
I'm so disappointed in this place! I waited a long time for customer service and it seemed like only 3 people work in this office. After I waited a long time, it seemed like the lady didn't want to help me! I believe her name is Bee and another girl with short hair! When I got into the office room, they had dirty and dusty wigs on display. The two told me that It's by appointment only and that I could only try on three wigs. They made me feel uncomfortable and limited! After I tried on two wigs that I picked I told them that I wanted a natural look and my natural hair texture is wavy. They gave me an Afro and told me it looks more natural but it's not good hair. How insulting! I'm never going back!
I prefer silky straight hair and I purchased there reasonably priced Indian hair and it tangles and sheds terribly. I bought there premium Brazilian silky straight hair and while it's much better quality, for the high price, the amount of hair on the weft is despicable (what I mean is if you normally need 4 packs for a full sew in, you'll need at least 6 packs of their premium hair... it gets expensive). I used to purchase from them all the time in 2016/2017 but there prices have skyrocketed while there products are worse than before.
I have ordered 3 wigs from WowAfrican. In 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively. The quality of the hair in all 3 wigs was superb. The first 2 wigs were ordered from the overseas store and fit perfectly.
The third wig in 2019 was ordered from the U.S. store in California. The cap on the US wig was too small, although I kept it anyway. I did not order a specific size from the overseas store.
Are the wigs in the US store a different quality/
I want to return the wig because the front hair of the wig is too fine. They say i dye it and i didn't after sending the pictures requested by them. And i ask for the return address they give me a China address which cost a lot to send the wig back to them. And i know in my head i purchase from USA not China.
When i'm going to return it, while i'm in the post office, i'll make a video of the wig because i don't trust them be careful with this compagny
As a first time buyer I'm satisfied with the wig. Maybe too much hair density for my head size. But overall good. I'm buying another one soon. Good customer service.
My daughter purchased a Wow African wig for my retirement in 2017. Since then I've had it washed and styled about 4 times and it's still in fantastic condition. I love it! This is just 2 styles.
Ive bn waiting on my order since 5/19/19. I try tracking it online, that $#*! isn't helpful at all, always says pending or something. Try calling the 1800 number given no one ever answers and it just hangs up after so many rings. I will definitely spread the word about how fraud y'all are!
Wow African right. More like wow another China wig store that think Black people are stupid so they exploit us. Then they have these girls online that receive different wigs you'll ever get! They give these cool reviews based on what they sent them. Is there such a thing as 0 stars?
I ordered a 360 lace frontal wig from Wow African, it took about 23 days to receive, But the unit was definitely worth the wait. They did advise me previously that turnaround time would be about 22 days to make it. Beautiful hair. I will definitely order from them again. No real problems.

I've purchased four units; two Brazilian silky straight, a silk top and now a remy lace front. I found the cap construction for the remy lace wig was the best out of all the units and had a more realistic look to it. Their Brazilian hair last about 6 months before you need a new unit. You'll start experiencing shedding around this time. Also the construction of the cap needs work. The remy hair which was my favorite tangled at the nape. It's a hit or miss with this company. Im in the process of looking for a new vendor or just making my own wig. Hope this helped.
Your first unit may be a good value, but any orders thereafter will be junk, fake hair-blends. They will respond with sympathetic messages that suggest they're willing to fulfill your requests, but to no avail. Stay clear of this business!
This wig website is rubbish i paid £200 to not get anything. I have been waiting and emailing them no reply they completely ignored me. It has been a month now but i will get my money back from my bank because that is basically a online fraud website.

Terrible customer service! Just uh! Lost interest in receiving the hair and wanted a refund. So filed dispute on PayPal. The end
I didn't read the reviews before ordering. Kicking myself in the butt. I have been waiting for about 3 wks now. That's when I decided to check reviews to see if anyone else had waited so long. Now that I know it's coming from China I understand the looking delay. However, it seems the lengthy delivery time will be there least of my worries.
