I used GiftCards.com to compensate research participants. I purchased 19 cards over three months and the process for 75% of the purchases was horrible. Some recipients did not receive the cards, they did not go to their SPAM accounts, they just did not receive them. Halfway through, the service charge increased by a dollar to $6 per card without warning or explanation. Contacting customer service is an exercise in torturous frustration. Online support takes 15 minutes to infinity to get to a live agent after wrestling with a chatbot. Phone options do not include the most common issue I had - no receipt of the cards. In retrospect, I should have just used an Amazon gift card rather than a Visa gift card. I thought Visa would give my participants more options, but nearly $120 in fees and countless hours troubleshooting made this a nightmare. This was March - thru June 1 2025

Absolute Scam

Be careful when purchasing cards in bulk. I have literally purchased over $100,000.00 in gift cards from this company over the past few years, and had one of them expire. They refused to reissue the card and kept my $500.

So I am ocd about checking my balance. They decided to randomly charge me 3 fees. Their first email said "nothing they could do" they cannot reverse fees. Lies! I called and complain and he investigated it, they charged me 4.95x3 for the hell of it. See below for evidence of how shady they are

Thieves Stole My Money

I ordered a $200 egift card and didn't get the card. When I checked, the money was taken from my bank and bank says it's been processed but giftcards refuses to send the card or my money back. They're saying that the funds could not be captured but clearly if the transaction was processed THE FUNDS WERE CAPTURED
I can't actually believe that this company gets away with this and is still up and running. They have never tried to rectify any of the problems that they create and they should be put out of business PRONTO
All I'm asking for is what I purchased and it should be simple but No... It's not simple. It's a case of theft and fraud and likely a few other crimes that will never be brought to light. You make me SICK Giftcards.com
And I sure hope you sleep well at night knowing that your dollars are taken from people who don't have a lot of them to throw away. I wish you well... Keep up the great work

SCAM Company with EXCESSIVE FEES, despite advising the card is good for X number of years, it really isnt because after 1 year Giftcards.com starts charging "Dormany Fees" which will quickly depete your card. BUY BEWARE!

Bad Overall First Order.

Placed an order that my card company stopped due to security. I can understand that. Cleared that with the card company and placed the order again. After I get the order confirm, giftcards.com canceled stating it didnt pass their screening? I never had this issue in this way on any other website for any amount.

Every time I went to use the card, it was not authorized and by the time I battled with Giftcard and their monthly deductions, there was nothing left on the card. You see, Giftcard take monthly deductions.
The Giftcard is a gift to themselves.

Giftcards.com is a total scam. I'm not sure how else a gift card company would make their money but it shouldn't be by taking $X dollars per month from peoples cards that aren't being used and it definitely shouldn't suspend your card for checking your balance online more than once. I am going to make sure the company I work for is notified about Al of this hassle and next year they likely won't use them going forward.

Another gift card scam

I was recently scammed by giftcards.com to get my personal info. They sold a friend of mine a gift card for $100 and it's brand new, but non-redeemable. I've filed a report with the FTC as a result and contacted giftcards.com. I just hope my friend can get a refund on the card somehow. You can't call Giftcards.com for one, so you can't actually talk to a real person, just lots of FAQ's and wizardry. Just can't understand why anyone would want to buy a gift card through a third party like this where they charge you $5 per month on the card that you don't use it. Just get a Visa gift card through Visa.com, it makes no sense to do it this way.

Purchased $1,000 in gift cards to be delivered electronically. According to the automated system 3 days later, the order was canceled. Thankfully they refunded my card, however, no reason was given, but they sure send out marketing emails every day wanting me to buy more gift cards. Why would I do that when they cancel orders?

I used this company a few times and never had an issue now they charge me but there's no card. I submitted the payment and it said sorry your card isn't going through so I check my bank and they charge me! So I ask customer service and continue to tell me they need my email address in order to verify my order even though I'm telling them there's no order but they don't understand so I lost $60 nice!

Unauthorized charge.

I purchased 2 gift cards with PayPal but was giftcards.com also charged my bank account the same amount. So I was charged double. Giftcard.com won't release my money back to me as of yet. I have bought from them a few times with no problems until now. I am posting this review on every review site I can until they release my money that the never should have taken in the first place.
