UPDATED January 15th:
The site has been developed to include links to other organizations where you can donate money. But they are still collecting and only releasing money from their PayPal account when it reaches $500. Not good enough, I think, and no accountability either, even if they are on the level.
Here's a page of reliable organizations that you can donate to:
http://www.interaction.org/crisis-list/earthquake-haiti
Plus you can text the word "HAITI" to ******* to make an instant $10 donation.
Oustanding callousness if this is what it appears to be, which is a shameless attempt to funnel money straight into a web design business. Everyone should post a review on this one to keep it on the SJ front page.
Instead of directing traffic to the American Red Cross site, it redirects traffic to its own PayPal account, Portada.com. It shouldn't be collecting not a dime but redirecting traffic to various organizations. Like was said before no watchdog to oversee what are happening to the donations going to the PayPal account. PayPal isn't doing anything because they get a cut from processing the transactions.
Please read the other reviews and be aware. Do not fell for it and just keep the posting as Chris suggests!
Unbelievable how low some people will sink. A fake Haiti earthquake relief site? Simply astounding the depths of human greed.
