“Very good news website where as long as you don't swear,...”

Gary S.
6/25/13

Very good news website where as long as you don't swear, your comments are added and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have noticed that on many issues, other news sites (especially newspapers) either do not allow comments at all, delete them very quickly, or take out the comments they don't like. I think Yahoo stands above the rest for it's ability to uphold democracy and freedom of speech. Well done Yahoo!

“Authoritarian”

The Yahoo news page links garbage news articles from low-grade leftist sources like Salon, HuffPost, "SheKnows", etc. They clearly scoured the web for sources that were far-left enough for them. So I was glad when Yahoo brought back the ability to comment on articles (during the Trump years they disabled comments on propaganda articles where dissent was not allowed). But then I was permanently censored without warning or explanation after posting an article comment that did not violate user policies but went against their politics. They also deleted my comment history. If you're not a paying customer, which I now refuse to be, they provide no support or means of contacting them to complain. Furthermore I have seen other reviews written by users whose email accounts were suddenly deleted without warning so I've begun transferring important emails and accounts to another address. If you have an account at Yahoo, know that you are in the hands of immature, vindictive people who don't care about you. Do not keep important emails here or use this account as a login elsewhere. You never know when it will go away and you won't be able to access your other accounts. Yahoo offers large mailboxes, even to non-paying customers, but it can all suddenly disappear if they decide they don't like you.

I keep being amazed by the one sided and complete denial of objectivity as a news and social platform. All we want is to be able to talk and feel that we are given a chance to not only talk but listen. I just don't see how you forgot how important it is to not always be so lost in who is right to forget it's all about the conversation that starts both sides to heal.

I've had google as my default search engine for 2+ years, nothing's changing there, when suddenly my browser goes to yahoo without me downloading, touching, or otherwise changing my chrome settings. I look this up on google.com to get actually helpful results, and it says I have malware. I've already completely cleared my browser settings, so that's not the problem. I've had the two pinned extensions for years and they haven't affected me. I don't have any other extensions. This is making my computer a) run slower, and b) increase the difficulty of send word documents (as a student) to anyone, saying the link was forwarded to 'null'.
Just for some ad revenue

Tip for consumers:
Don't download anything you aren't ABSOLUTELY sure is not malware. Especially in the google extension store

I've been with them since 2010, and in 2021 when you need them because someone is stealing your account, nobody helps. Don't call to the "premium" number, it's basically the same as sending a ticket and they will keep you the most possible time for them, so they charge you then. No Twitter support, emails taking 3 days to answer, support is missing. I am switching to another mail provider after this.

Never subscribe to any service or give your card details to Yahoo. Yahoo charges without permission.
They charge me $380.00 yearly for service without any notification before taking the money. It was a free trial, and a message should be sent before charging me the yearly fee, which I was unaware of.

I have had an email address with yahoo since 2000 and I've often used them as a news source, but all they report on anymore is any dirt they can find on the republican party. There are people in all political parties that are corrupt but why only report those on the right? I want to hear it all... the good the bad and the ugly. At least be fair. It's so disappointing that they also got rid of their comment section because people can't even engage on their reporting.

This is a warning for all senior's who whose Yahoo's email service. Don; t forget your password... because if you do you wont be able to get back into the account. My 77 year old mothers account was hacked and being used by someone other then herself.
Yahoo only has 2 options. Allow the account to go dormant ( clearly it wont with someone using it) or pass a security profile test to prove she is who she says she is, which at 77 she did not recall when the account was activated.
The query is bogus for seniors.
Yahoo does not seems to take hacking into their email services seriously.

We ask specifically about insurance when we interviewed them they told us we were well covered and they never ever had a problem. See damages and today 4 months later they send me a release form to release them from coverage saying i did not have enough insurance. They offered 83 dollars but i have to release them no way... please spread this email make it go viral make them pay one way or another. I do not recommend - furthermore what was quoted and signed for they actually charged me 500 more4 when i complained they said they would not deliver my personal stuff - this is a HORRIBLE operation do not give them your money

I've had an email account with Yahoo for more than 8 years and my issue with them is the lack of security that plagues the email system and their chat program. Yahoo also has terrible customer service with people that have nasty attitudes and if you're trying to get answers to something they're not very friendly. They need to really overhaul Yahoo's way of existing and just start over with people who actually give a crap about customer service and can perform their job right.

Honestly, if they would quit competing against Face Book on making F... Up changes and idiot improvements, it might actually be worth using! I use Bing A LOT! People tell me that it isn't that great, I use it for college and I have no complaints at all. My grades show the truth!

Well... I have to admit I only use this website for their free email service & Yahoo Messenger. And it never disappoints me until now. I've been using their email service since 2001. Whew. Quite a customer I am :D. Otherwise the site was quite a bit fun. There are not so important news, celebrity gossip section from Yahoo OMG, Free game trial downloads, Yahoo Shine for your daily living articles, and of course Yahoo Answer, which is a very fun place to troll.(LOL). For free emails, Yahoo is the best.

I am convinced that Yahoo is full of idiots. I created a Facebook account back in 2007 with an email address set up 2 years prior and have lost access to my account due to the stupidity of Yahoo. FB doesn't even recognize my email anymore and I can't look in my Yahoo account for anything because they've deleted all of my emails. If you're that bitter that no one uses your services as much anymore just file for bankruptcy and disappear. It's like they're punishing people for moving on.

Nice way to read movie reviews and ratings all in one place. Old movies or new releases. I really liked it when they had the "Movie Mom Reviews" because they'd explain why a movie was rated the way it was and for what scenes. You can still learn a lot of what you're looking for though, even if they have taken "Mom's" reviews away.

If you have a 25 gig plan on your internet, Verizon Yahoo will force feed a gig of advertising a day into your e-mail. Opting out of the advertising or going full screen will not stop their %$#@. This was never an issue before Verizon bought them to increase revenues by telling the advertisers (who pay for these ads), that the ads were received by millions of people (who are being forced to pay for this &^%$) I am slowly switching all my e-mail to gmail.

90% negative Trump news. With all the creepy Democrats that should get the negative reviews I can only conclude that Yahoo is but another liberal media base. They certainly do not represent the working class. All these Yahoo news contributors ( who are probably living in their parents basement) will probably be booted out someday and have to go to work. Some of them will probably change their views of the world at that time.

You know, if companies like "Yahoo" would quit handing out email accounts like candy at a "candy store", at least half of all the "junk mail" would disappear from all our inbox's. Is there no "corporate responsibility" anymore?

Come on! More reviews on Yahoo! Lol.

Anyway, there's only two things I use yahoo for. My junk mail for yahoo, and the main topic, my news. Not saying I'm staying one side on the yahoo writers and all, but its seriously simple, easy access, and they give you an up date on almost anything that happens! Popular, world, leisure, disasters, etc. Besides that, i use google for all other tasks :P Still after so many years since I use yahoo when I was a kid, I'm still using it for other means.

I used to call Yahoo my safe email. They pretty much ruined that experience for me by deleting all my emails they claim due inactivity on my emails when I saw them less than 2 months ago. Don't bother to contact them by phone or email. A whole lot of long hold or no response back with no result on your behalf at the end. Yahoo do not care. A friend of mine had the same experiences which prompt me to check on my email as well. This is the result I got. All my emails are gone.

Yahoo was one of my first exposure to email, internet news etc. And I used it for a long time. But lately they have become entirely one sided with their news. They delete comments / opinions when it doesn't agree with yahoo views. They will edit stories and if you pay close attention you can tell they are completely fabricated. I gave a 1 star because it doesn't get any worse when a huge company like Yahoo tries to ram their ideas, politics etc with dishonesty.

Yahoo has removed their comments section why? So that normal Americans cannot comment & challenge their slanted, biased, & marxist leaning stories. Their comments will of course return back on November 4th. They are simply trying to slant the election towards the hapless Joe Biden & the Democrats. They attack EVERYTHING Conservative. Everything that is good for America. Yahoo attacks everything to radically change America that is already the most desirable country in the world... into something like Cuba? Russia?... they want to wreck America. Why?

I have been a Yahoo email user since 2001. I have no issues with their email service despite rumors that they scan emails and the intrusive, omnipresent advertising. My issue is that Yahoo knowingly allows sellers on their platform who lie and defraud Yahoo customers. In May 2023, an advertiser REODS advertised a product (which I purchased). They never delivered and stopped responding. Whey I alerted Yahoo to this issue, they asked ME for a screenshot of the seller on Yahoo. This dishonest company pulled their ads, and I certainly did not have a screenshot from their ad which was 3 weeks old. I sent my receipt and named the seller (who clearly pays Yahoo and contracted with them). Customer service would not take action without a screenshot and despite my requests, they directed me to a feedback form. Pathetic behavior by Yahoo and they continue to allow this on their website today.

My title portrays the body of my review. That is not common with Yahoo news headlines. Your far left, liberal (I am a little left myself) stance is insane. It would be nice to see actual unbiased reporting of the news. It's called journalism, you should try it.

Yahoo demonstrates a very liberal bias. Even as other social media platforms like Twitter are exposed for their censorship and liberal bias along with collusion with the FBI to interfere with elections, Yahoo continues to censor reader comments to silence conservative views. They feature overwhelmingly liberal slanted stories in their news feeds, along with blatantly ignoring top news stories that may reflect badly on democrats.

We recently went there to celebrate an anniversary. There were 8 of us. The food was good and the scenery was beautiful. Our Major complaint were the old chairs. My hubby has a terrible back and suffered 2 days afterward. All the padding from the middle of the seats were missing! We traded chairs etc. No luck. Also, our waitress forgot a drink order for one of our party, by the time it was served it was watered down due to the ice melting. We did not complain because the waitress was running and doing the best she could. The food was very good, and prices were fair. I would only go back if they got new chairs.
