I love the ymca, it has the pool, the classes, the weights, the out door activities and gives your kids something to do while you go there to work out. It's also very cleanly which is a major thing for me.
The Southwest Washington YMCA, has a dirty parking lot with homeless people roaming regularly, dusty and unmaintained equipment. Terrible customer service within the building. Toxic and discriminating environment. Unethical practices. Management is not existent. Sauna never disinfected. I have worked there and have a certain insights, I would not recommend this gym the prices are too high for the quality of service and the lack of workout machines.

Tip for consumers:
This is a toxic and unhealthy environment. I would question where your money is really going because the facility is covered in dust and most machines are so out dated or broken.

I paid for a membership and was canceled with no questions asked no indication no refund. Eventually I receive an email from the CEO saying she received an anonymous letter about me?? Really a letter about me, I think that's very far fetched. This place runs by popularity and if they don't like you they come up with what ever they can to get you banned. The management in this building is unsupportive to guest and employees.
Disgusting experience at this establishment. They will smile at you until you become a regular customer. Then they will start to openly be rude. Unfriendly environment for children. The staff of the YMCA (Snohomish County, WA. Colby Ave in Everett) asserts itself at the expense of the club's visitors. Their the problems are obvious.
I use to go here to workout. I also use to enjoy working out here. But, I soon noticed that some of the YMCA branches in Cleveland are poorly maintained and up kept. They hardly updated the building or the workout equipment.
The staff and some people that go here are rude, judgemental and prejudging people. They base who you are on your looks or assume things about you without even knowing you.
One several occasions locals or staff looked at me strange, wired or made rude comments to me by calling me fat.
Just recently. I was talking to a male staff member. We were having enough I thought a cool conversation. But, then he assumed. That just cause I was being nice and friendly. I was hitting on him. When, I never said anything of the sort or even implied I was. I'm a straight male.
I was called in the supervisor office, in next few days. I was told the staff member I spoke to made him feel uncomfortable. I'm like how all we were talking about is working out and losing weight. I said nothing sexual or strange.
Then I was told my membership was being suspended for 30 days. I was like I didn't do anything wired, strange or wrong. But I'm being punished. I told the YMCA to take their membership and shove it. And refund my money.

The ymca on elmgrove rd in Rochester NY allows transgender males to use the women's locker room even though they have a family locker room for both sexes. Twice I've observed a black male in the women's locker room and upon reporting it was told he was transitioning and identifies as female. Uh no sorry, not acceptable for a Christian principled organization. The public and members are not being advised of this policy and I'm learning that all ymca locations are independent and able to write their own policies. This is deceptive business practice and the public needs to be informed. Photos? Not allowed in locker rooms however that policy is also broken regularly. So be advised protect your privacy.

The ymca of greater dayton areas are the worst possible ymcas ever. Very very rude to members and are on a total power trip. They will cuss at you then bam your pass for cussing at them. They blow whistles like we are at recess when the gym is time to close. They are a joke and only in it for the money and none of the money goes to anything needed at facilities.
Tip for consumers:
I do not recommend at all.
If you are looking for a normal steamroom experience you will be greatly disappointed. This system is always out of order or not working properly when it is suppose to. It takes them atleast a week or two to do repairs only to find out its still the same old running system which needed to be replaced during covid down time. It saddens many of the members that we have to go elsewhere to get a good steam experience for something we pay for.
I had a terrible experience at Robert Lee YMCA. Very toxic environment: bully, Harassment, rude and controlling behavior is allowed, discrimination and gaslighting.
