I joined POF last night (or at least THOUGHT I did), and received an e-mail from someone named Markus, saying that "your registration was successful." I tried to log on this morning, only to be told that the password I entered was “incorrect” (it most certainly was NOT). When I entered my e-mail address and asked to be reminded of my password, I was told that my e-mail address “does not exist or is not in our database” (even though, as required, I had entered it twice)! And when I tried to register again, with the same username that I had finally succeeded with last night, I was told that it was already taken! (Yes, it is! By ME!)
Apparently my new account was deleted almost immediately after it was opened, without ANY violation of their Terms of Service on my part and with absolutely NO notification to me of why!
Is POF a legitimate dating site, or some sort of scam or fraud? If legit, why does their web site offer absolutely NO way to contact them when such issues and questions arise?
Can anyone shed any light on this?

From what I understand if you put the pof app on your smartphone and then register
Using the phones mobile internet (NOT WIFI) then your account will not get deleted.
However if too many women block you or report you that will cause a deletion of your profile.

If you have a Virtual Private Network, (VPN) POF has some controls again allowing people to become members. So you will be able to register but you'll be kicked off in about an hour. So if you have a VPN, turn it off when you register.

Did you ever have a previous account with POF? Were you kicked off? If yes, then you may be able to re-register, but you'll be kicked off in about an hour.

The same thing has happened to several of my friends in Kenya. You log in the next day and you are told your email does not exist. What I know is that they taeget US and maybe Europeans so the rest of us our accounts are immediately deleted.

Yeah... its a good site with really serious good guys but a waste of time because after creating a nice profile they mercilessly delete it :(
