Hi Kathleen, Credit checks are generally completed within 24 hours. Background checks can vary depending on the county courthouse. Some users experience a faster turnaround, and others may experience longer delays. Most do receive their results within 3-5 days. Hope this helps, The Roomies Team

Hi Kathleen, Thank you for your inquiry. There are two ways users can initiate background checks. Option 1. A person can purchase the check and assign it to a potential roommate. The potential roommate can then submit their information and they will both receive the report once completed. Option 2. The person completing the background check can purchase and submit their info. (This can be either the person posting a room or a potential renter). Once the check is completed, they can share the report with others. At the moment, our credit checks can only be initiated by the person who wants to complete them. Keep in mind that some potential renters may also request that the person renting a room have a credit check or background check completed if they will be living in the home.
