The site has been poorly programmed. For example, I had to try several times to enter the details on my credit card, because the site requested the county rather than the state in the U.S. There were other electronic glitches as well. Eventually was able to place the order, but it was not easy and required a good bit of persistence.

I looked at the e-mail you sent me, and this book (by David Attenborough) leapt out at me - I took maybe one (1) second to decide to buy it.
I have bought quite a few books from Alibris since I started, and I have always found them to be perfectly satisfactory. One (very small) point - why were all (and I do mean all) the copies listed of this book shown as coming from the USA?
I like to use a site which I have used a number of times before, rather than some new, possibly "fly-by-night" organisation which I have never heard of. Call me an old stick-in-the-mud, but that's how I feel!

Every time I go to checkout I am told my card details are incorrect, but they are not. I have to re-enter the same card details from scratch each time, though they are already on your system. I don't mind if the issue is to put in a security number (which is good practice), but that is not what I am told. I am also OK with you not saving my card. However, saving it but then failing to use it without explanation -- consistently -- seems a little silly.
Book hard to come by!
Your website kept bouncing me between 'place your order' (which took me to the card page) and 'save and continue' (the only option on the card page -- where my details were already in place and which sent me back to 'place your order'!). I was worried I'd made the same order 5 times. I eventually broke the cycle by entering my card details again even though they were already showing in your system.
It's not Amazon.
Description of the book condition as simply "good" lacks more precise details.(e.g. Ex Library book? Dust jacket? Etc.) Otherwise, a fairly satisfactory experience.

First time I've ever purchased anything from / off an international website - it was a very, unexpectedly, straightforward process.
I was looking to buy some US CDs that aren't easily purchased in the UK. Found Alibris on the Internet. The site was easy to navigate, well put together and (hopefully) appears reliable.
I encountered two problems
1. Difficult to get my card accepted.
2. Did not get the discount code even though I requested it twice.
It took at least an extra 15-20 minutes to complete the transaction, which was a nuisance.
I didn't choose it. I typed in the name of one of the books I wanted into my browser and found both of titles. Also your shipping costs were cheaper than via Amazon.
So far so good, we'll see if the book actually arrives and hopefully it will be as described.
Found a book on google
Ordered many. Many book from Alibris. In my experience all the individual suppliers provide fast efficient service. Books are true to stated condition. A great site to find books not available elsewhere. Great fan.

Alibris is my go-to source for books. It has a huge range, lots of suppliers, and good pricing and delivery costs. I particularly value the possibility of sourcing across the world not just from the UK, which is good for hard to find copies and particularly useful for books published outside the UK.

It's my usual go-to for books, mainly because of the range you can offer. One aspect of this is the access to overseas sellers especially USA ones as many books I look for are US published.
I once was looking for a UK published Sherlock Holmes volume to complete a set, I had loaned my original copy and never got it back, and having looked elsewhere without success I found a copy through Alibris, in Berlin!
