Great software. Had an issue with customer service at one point, but it was resolved to my satisfaction and I greatly appreciated the effort they put in after the fact. We do not need this service anymore, but we would likely use again if ever needed.
I use this service once a month because I am a doctor dealing with out-of-date insurance companies that require use of fax. In addiition to my monthly fee, efax charged me $10 for sending a fax today. They did this last month and I let it go, but no more... are they small-amount thieves? What's the fee for? Of course, the chat-option is not responding and those on the phone hang up even before they say hello... how awfull customer service! Anyone recommends an ethical fax service? Thank you.

I never used the service. It is very difficult to figure out how to cancel. The company refused any refund. Do not sign up!

I started with Efax in 2012. The customer service was great. If I had any problems they were responsive, courteous and helpful. I had my service cancelled in March and they claim it was due to a lack of payment. They told me to call my bank and my bank confirmed that my card is active and there is no block on the automatic payment and there was no rejected payment. They encouraged me to call Efax and they said I needed to call my bank or use a different credit card. When I explained I was worried I would have the same issue if the other card was active and rejected. The sales person put me on mute without saying he was doing so. I stayed on for 15 minutes thinking he was checking with someone, but he was just passive aggressively putting me on hold. I would have been willing to sign up using a bank routing number but I was told that was not possible either. I am guessing by reviews and my latest experience with them they are owned by another company now.

The support service was very active for giving me back up to solve my issue and explain me how it works. I finally could send my fax simply through my email address and got notification once it successfully sent. Thanks again to Paul his help.

I do like efax because it lets me have a unique fax number where I travel. I have access to both incoming and outgoing faxes where I have internet (even in the middle of a flight). The pricing is good enough for such a service. Their team are so supportive and nice whenever you need them.

If you need a fax solution, they are a good bet. Reliable service, fax numbers in every city, and in/outbound faxes directly from your PC. I've heard there can be problems cancelling service, but I haven't had to do that yet.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Worst customer service ever. They won't take cancellations online nor via email. You have to call a long distance number. No 1-800 of course. And they will make you hold 15 minutes. They claimed they respond to my emails when they don't. I wish there was a class action lawsuit against them.
Used one time and have reached out for several months in every way they suggest and still am getting charged 4 months in a row for an account I can't even log into after the first fax. They are frauds and will come under this post and say that's not what they want you to experience but they won't even help with the issue. I've been begging them to cancel and the customer support is just as bad as the service

Like many here my experience with EFax was awful. I signed up in June of 2014. Cancelled that same month after never using the service. They continued to bill the CC until the Card was finally dropped this past month. Then I went through virtual hell trying to get an refund (forget that) and even just have a clean cancellation. Over $200 spent for nothing and over an hour on the phone to try get the account cancelled. They refused to email post me the cancellation information. Honestly, I do not believe they really cancelled the account and for my own reference the cancellation number they verbally gave me is *******.
Seriously folks, stay away from this company!
Charged 96.95 for one month of faxing less than 150 pages. Their posted rate structure allows 150 free faxes for 16.95 per month but in the fine print of their customer agreement page is an alternate pricing structure based on time that their machines work to fax the documents. Total scam by an unethical business, you are at their mercy for the charges they create and take from your account.
Their customer service is horrible. Can't get anyone on the phone... and good luck with their AI bot chat via their web-site. We're taking our business elsewhere after several years with eFax. Not the same Co they used to be by any stretch of the imagination. They charge our firm credit card and get paid, yet lately when our clients send faxes to us, they get nothing but a busy signal on their end. Very unprofessional looking for any business. And no one is available to help resolve the problem.

This Business will not process cancellations unless you call them or go to their website and do it via customer service - from 6 to 6 PST. So you are unable to do it by logging into your account. Go figure. I bet when I call them they will give me a hard time even after they have charged my credit card.
When I need faxing again, I'll choose someone else.

Company is a total load of crap. I tried to start a free account with them and had to provide credit card info. Figuring this was for too may pages or other extras, I gave it to them. MISTAKE! They billed me for "Efax plus" which cost $27: $10 activation fee and $16.95 for the first month. None of this was apparent, but it was in the contract details, and they do not refund a penny. Don't ever use them.
Chatted with customer agent name "kristin" to fix some account issue. She/he ended the chat without asking if i have any other questions. I started another chat, it was she/he again. Ended the chat again after answering my 1st question. Worst customer service ever! Won't use their service when current plan ends.

They are extremely difficult to get in touch with - took me several days to even figure out how to talk to a representative. Upon actually speaking to someone, they refused to cancel our account and refund for the remainder of the year - even though the subscription had only been renewed for a few days (without consent - they just charge your credit card without prior notice). Definitely a mistake to be involved with eFax - it honestly just feels like a scam.

I have asked via email and phone call for my account to be cancelled. I was told by the customer service agent that he would cancel my account. 4 months later, I still get bills from them. I just send yet another email telling them to close my account. My next step is to file a complaint with the FCC. I want to give them zero stars but that is not an option on this site.

It totally sucked. I signed up for free 30 day trial. Fax would not go through. Tech support was rude and was on the phone for 1 plus hours trying to get fax to go. He had me fax from every browser possible saying it was browser prob. Ea had same effect - nothing. Obviously not browser. Then they billed my account twice for all the faxes their tech support had me try. Bounced my account. Called to complain. Said they would fix it - twice, but nothing was fixed. Ever. Incompetent tech support and customer service did not follow up as promised. Totally disappointed in their service. Would not recommend to anyone.!

I used efax for years to receive faxes-free by the way-and never had a problem. Later I started a home business and needed to fax out so I upgraded to be able to send faxes through e-fax and it went well. The fax software/interface is not so user friendly (thus the 4 stars) but other than that it was solid and when I wanted to cancel, I called & cancelled with no issues. I stopped using them in 2013 when I closed my home business and it is now 2015 so I'm not sure if the service has changed, but when I used it it was a solid go to for sending and receiving faxes through my computer.
Customer service stinks. They are hard to get in touch with. They charged much more than expected after the initial trial, and refused any refund. I'm very frustrated with them and would not recommend them.
No way to cancel online, emails get ignored and they keep charging my credit card. EFax is really really annoying and cheeky. I wanted to cancel my account but there is no option in the member area so I wrote several emails, which all got ignored. Apparently they want to make you call their customer service department which is illegal in Europe. Stay away from those scammers!

Do not recommend at all. I had a free number for over 10 years and was receiving faxes periodically. I just received an email last week, telling me I have a new account and phone number. So I thought it was a fraud and close it. I tried logging in to my old account and received and error. I contacted efax and told me they gave my fax number to another person and opened me a new one without telling me or consent. Now some stranger is getting my new faxes and I have to call everyone from a 10-year period and tell them don't use the fa number. I will never purchase anything from this company. Do not recommend at all!

We no longer offer the eFax free service. As a courtesy, your account has been grandfathered but as per our customer agreement, the service can be closed at any time as it is a free service. The number was recalled by our carrier and would not have been reassigned to a new user as number s must remain inactive for a minimum of 90 days before being reactivated on a new account for security reasons. When your numebr was recalled and in order to ensure that your eFax free service ( for receiving) remained active, a new fax numver was assigned to you.
