This service is an escort service approved by Bay Pines VA Medical Center. I had a procedure at the Bay Pines VA on the 13th of August. Because I had no ride and an escort is required for this procedure, the VA recommended Helping Hands as my ride service. I call them on 12 August, and talked to a wonderful lady. We even had a lengthy conversation about her father's military service and how he and I are both sticklers for being on time. I wanted to be picked up at 6:15 am for a 7 a.m. appointment. She convinced me that 6:30 am would be early enough. At 6:30 am the morning of the procedure, I called her and asked where my ride was. She said she would call me back. She did, she said the driver, Jeremy, would be 15 minutes late. Jeremy also called me at 6:40 am and told me he would be 10-15 minutes, he was on his way. I told him t cancel. I called the lady back at Helping Hands and told her I had cancelled because the driver was late. She then proceeded to lecture me on how life is not always perfect. I will never use Helping Hands in the future. They are unreliable.
I attempted to apply for help, housing etc from the web site helpinghands.com and could not get past the 2nd question, birth date. I clicked on the 2023 year at the top & then it would not scroll backwards to click on the correct year! Its stuck on 2023. I wonder how many folks in need have attempted to apply and could not. Makes me wonder if it's a legitimate business?
Thank you for allowing constructive criticism. I hope & pray it will be fixed soon. Or, if I'm doing it wrong, (this is quite possible!) please let me know.

Tip for consumers:
Use someone else, this company and it's drivers are unreliable
