I have been woking on my computer site several years and yesterday I tried to load it and it seemed all of my programs were gone. I thought they could not be retrieved and was gone forever. Today, I finally got their phone number and a nice man worked with it over an hour correcting a server error. Was so glad it was not something that I did wrong. I would give them great marking for taking care of it so quickly and professional.
There seems to be a common theme: They charge you for a renewal well in advance of your annual expiration date. In addition, if you look at your account and billing info, it tells you your expiration date but says nothing about their policy of charging you 15 days in advance, which they trot out when you notice a middle of the night email saying you've been charged and call them to cancel and get a refund. Can't be any more deceptive than that! Even worse, they charged me before the 15 days! It's time to get a class action against this fraud!

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it. They charge you for renewals before the renewal date and refuse to refund if you say you want to cancel before the renewal date. Sleezy. Numerous similar complaints......

Website hosting and a bunch of upsells.
I have never thought of asking a receipt from this place would take over two hours and still could not get resolve. You can never find the charge showing on their website (your portal) matches what is actually charged on your bank account. So asking for receipt is always a pain in the **. It is also very random too. It seems like it would depend on who you get as the virtual assistant on their "help" page. Sometimes you might be lucky that the person actual gets what you ask for and knows how to get it done. Many times its either either never get what you need and waste your time or they dont want to help at all. Never use this company ever again.
Tip for consumers:
nothing very disappointed. Will tell everyone I know to stay away from this company

I have been using ipage for 2 years. I would like to say that It isn't bad hosting company but they have issues. There are downtime more often. Their price isn't best. I found cheap hosting else where and much better.

I went on You-Tube to find the least expensive ways to get a business phone, email, and website. They suggested I-page as the best website builder. Logging in alone was a phone call every time, and they always pointed me to an incognito website to log in. Long story short, horrible experience, and they still owe me $112 for a refund from 2 weeks ago? You get what you pay for!

I have used ipage for years and always enjoyed the customer service. Unfortunately it is no longer existent. You have to chat with a person that takes forever to respond and doesn't even answer your questions directly. I started my chat at 6:41 pm to simply renew my domain and hosting and it took until 8:07 pm. I requested a contact number to call corporate or to file a complaint and all I got was sorry we no longer have a number for customers. Definitely going to explore my options as this is not customer friendly at the least.
I would give no star if possible. Cant publish web, cant fix my lost email, cant resolve! I was transferred to them after years with their sister serving host EasyCGI. Have been unable to get the email back properly, have been unable to pull up my web site even after the web builder tells me I've published, and can get no resolution from there people (I can not call it customer service). Am in the process of changing servers; afraid how easy I'll be able to get my domain name released. DONT USE IPAGE!.

SERVER HOST/ EMAIL AND WEB SITE (THAT DOES NOT WORK)
User interface leaves everything to be desired as it is both, slow and buggy. The hosting services are horrifically unreliable and the email services are terrible. Everything goes through ipage despite private hosting options. The support does not respond and there is a constant barrage of unexpected services tacked onto every single payment. We have been locked out of the service for days now and cannot get into our own accounts. Every login requires an outdated password.
I've used this site for some years, my experience has been good, not the best but still good, sometimes i feel there are some services not worth to be paid for, but still it's good to have options. Customer service is acceptable.
I use ipage for long time and they have best customer service. I usually chat with them and they always solve my problems. I recommend it to everyone because like other hosting providers it's not complicated.
I use them as a hosting service (a site that I've updated maybe 3x in half a year...) and they registered my domain through GoDaddy and so far I've had no problems. I can't comment on uptime/downtime since I rarely visit and I have basically no outside visitors; it's more of a placeholder in case I ever want to do something. But they do offer cheap hosting, when I signed up around $4.99 a month. The first time I signed up, they double charged me for a service because of their confusing forms (my mistake) but when I contacted their customer service, they refunded both charges very shortly. One thing I noticed, if you use Paypal, their payments will get withdrawn as automatic billing yearly or whatever plan you chose when you signed up. BE sure to either cancel if you don't want your site or change plans if you have to. Just don't forget you have a site somewhere for years... In addition, if you delete your site from them - it's gone forever, so make backups.
As around 14 years in tech industry i can say iPage is worst hosting provider. They just want to charge money and does not care about their services. Tech support as well, They do not have any logical answer for their mistakes and bugs in system.

Was with iPage for too long; then my website was compromised or hijacked and they have a service that they partner up with to "clean" it rather than policing in the first place to prevent from happening. Additionally when I went to cancel the service since fed up and went with another hosting company, the refused to credit ANY of the over $500 charge for three years when we were only 6 months in the auto renew cycle; you cannot get anyone on the phone and all has to be by chat. Sinking service sinking ship stay as far away as possible.
This by far is the worst company you could ever host with. I have been trying over a week to get access to my email that has been inactive since 7/11. I run a Homecare agency in NC and my email is a priority for this business. Not only do they no longer have a live agent you can speak with, but no one is answering the chats for the last several days. It's like they have me blocked because I'm trying to transfer my domain back to my previous provider and need an authorization code to complete the process. Please do not use this company, you will have problems every year like I have!
IPage has turned into a scam. I used them for over 10 years and loved the service. One day they randomly charged me $550ish dollars for a service I normally pay $75. I asked them why and was told they are changing prices. I immediately moved my websites and cancelled my service.
I also requested that my credit card information be removed from their servers, which they claimed to do.
Two months later I notice they are charging me every couple days different random amounts from $6.99 to $249.99, adding up to multiple thousands of dollars.
It is so much money that Citicard wants to involve law enforcement.
I've now tried to get them to refund the charges on their own but they keep running me around in circles.
It is just a straight scam at this point.
Tip for consumers:
Changed over time, they are a scam now, avoid.

Used to be a decent hosting, but it is getting worse by the hour. The prices for Website Builder tripled overnight from $130 to $320 without warning and explanation (after. There is no customer service whatsoever - some semi-AI. The customer service over the phone has been eliminated a s a class - no way you can talk to anybody. Theirs mail sucks - half of the US sites like Universities bump e-mails from iPage mentioning some DMARC error. When we tried to talk to tech support in iPage they told us that we should call mail admin in that University to allow our e-mail through. It is so bad that there is no point to waste time and money with iPage.
Best customer service and tech support. Like it a lot always chat support if you don't understand something.
They deleted my exchange email account claiming they sent me ONE email. Then they ended the chat when I tried to get them to help me. Left my business in a terrible position. They don't care. They also have no phone customer service and only use text. Terrible service. Very bad company.
On August 4th 2023 Ipage charged my MasterCard $677.59 without our knowledge, consent or authorization! Due to illness when this was brought to my attention my secretary called them they told her because it was past 15 days they couldn't do anything. I am also going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!
Tip for consumers:
Beware not to include your credit card for automatic debits
Be very careful with these people. Long after you cancel the service they bang you for 500 bucks for a "renewal" 6 years later for a dead web site. I cancelled the day that they assessed the charge by email and was "told" that email doesn't count. You have to do it by phone.
My business website went down during a linux upgrade and stayed down 4 days. I repeatedly chatted with online support but they just kept saying that engineering was working on it.
Their online chat is a first level person with very little knowledge and you cannot ask to be transferred to a higher level support.
After three days of down time, I asked them to have engineering contact me and tell me what the problem was. I did get an email from some upper level support and they had the same answer. We are working on it. No details as to why it was down or when it would be fixed.
Extremely annoying.
I had been on the iPage VPS server for 7 years and this WAS an OK company. But since they discontinued their telephone support this year, the support is horrible.
My online business cannot be down for several days.
I finally gave up and moved my website to another web hosting company.
I recently had an extremely unpleasant experience with iPage, which has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. I strongly advise against using their services due to their unprofessional conduct and lack of consideration for their customers.
Firstly, without any prior notice or warning, iPage billed me a staggering $234 without my knowledge or consent. I was shocked to discover this excessive charge on my bank statement. This disregard for transparency and fiscal responsibility is simply unacceptable.
Upon realizing this unauthorized charge, I decided to cancel my subscription immediately, hoping to resolve the issue promptly. Unfortunately, this decision turned out to be an even more regrettable move, as cancelling my account with iPage caused me to lose all of my hard work.
The fact that iPage operates their cancellation process in a way that erases all content created using their platform showcases their utter disregard for their customers' efforts. It is beyond comprehension that a company would prioritize this bureaucratic process over the valuable content that their customers have invested time and effort into creating.
Additionally, throughout my entire experience, iPage displayed a lack of customer support and assistance. I reached out to their customer service team multiple times seeking an explanation and resolution, but received nothing but vague and unhelpful responses. Their unresponsiveness only adds to the growing list of reasons why I cannot recommend iPage to anyone.
Given iPage's complete disregard for customer satisfaction, lack of transparency regarding billing, and their willingness to jeopardize their customers' efforts without remorse, I strongly advise against using their services. There are numerous other web hosting providers available that prioritize customer support and value their users' work. Save yourself the trouble and seek alternatives that prioritize their customers' needs and have a better track record in terms of integrity and professionalism.

I needed to get a local non-profit up and running with a website and new web host in the matter of a few months and still work my real day job. After extensive searching I came to the conclusion that iPage was the web company to go with. With that said I started to develop the website and after about 2 weeks was very happy with the Admin page and all the different things we could do. We have a store to sell memorabilia, we have slide shows, photo albums, contact page, PDf's to download, connected to Google maps, and many other bells and whistles. The tech help is good and usually help the first time. They stated a price, which was really a good one - and that's the price it really was, no hidden costs at all. We are very happy with them as our web host and website building admin. They are great! Visit our non-profit website and take a look... www.spokanelilacfestival.org
Now they steal your money.
They have bad service, bad technical background as they keep playing with the domain ownership and making big mistakes, and then you have to spend hours and hours fixing that.
I was charged for an SSL renewal, and then they moved my domain to another account, which I don't own, and they told me you cannot get your SSL files because it's not your domain. Then I had to purchase the SSL from another service. After that, they came back with an email saying that it was their mistake and that I could not download the SSL files!
I told them then that we had agreed that. You will refund the amount, they refused to do so.
I lost my money and time for nothing… This is just one example.

Very poor tech support. I asked to upgrade my plan to add Google Workspaces. They canceled my hosting plan and added Google workspaces. Now I can't use my website anymore. Had to contact them several times to get my hosting plan back. Wasted several hours doing that multiple times. I still don't have it back. I was a customer for 15 years. Moving to a different vendor now.
