Sent the wrong version of George Orwell Coming up for Air that was on their website. Eventually accepted this was mistake but then told me I would need to pay the postage to send back, very bizarre! Will be staying well clear in future.

Ordered a 'very good' condition hardback. Received a very tatty paperback. WOB's response was "All our listings state that the item picture is for illustrative purposes only, actual binding, cover or edition may vary." So, it doesn't matter what you order, and pay for, WOB can send you any old rubbish they feel like. They even want me to pay to return the book I didn't order and really don't want!

I purchased a book listed as being in "Very Good" condition for $18. The book I received is in terrible condition. The cover/dust jacket is torn and stained. It appears that someone spilled coffee or soda on it. The pages are yellowed and one is completely crumpled and creased. The spine and corners are worn and the naked hardcover has white paint all over it. I requested a return, but have not heard back from them since I provided the photos of this piece of garbage that they requested. It looks like I will have to escalate my PayPal case to get a refund. I will NEVER buy a book from WOB again.

Horrible customer service. Bought book in the past listed as "very good" and it was so I ordered this book listed as same. Book creased and dirty. Trying to get a refund is a nightmare. Will NEVER order from them again. Will stick with Thrift Books. Always ready to help.

The book never arrived.
I ordered a book that said it should arrive in 7-14 business days. That time has past and no book. I tried to contact the customer service team only to get a message that said that would contact me within 48 hours. That time has also past, still no book. This is the first time I have Used WOB and it will be the last. No tracking info was provided and customer service has been non existent. I recently went to the site to check my order and now it says I have no orders. Luckily I still have the emails. Made several more attempts to contact WOB and still no answer, still no book, no refund and no attempt at all to make it right.

I ordered a book online. Transfered the money. Received an eMail three days later that the book has been shipped to my adress. Now, more than two weeks later, nothing has arrived. Costumer service is not replying (I sent two requests already). I read some reviews after this and I am not alone with this experience, or other bad experiences with World of Books. Listen to the bad reviews. Don't oder here. No service. Bad and sad. But they will gladly accept your money. I am glad it has only been 8 EUR.

Not a good experience with World of Books! I have received 2 duplicate orders as I thought the first order was cancelled. It would be far better to have customer service on the phone rather than a chat bot which is not easy and that is how problems arise. I have received 2 books which should be in very good condition, one was covered in writing across several pages and another had a cover that was coming completely away from the spine. I have now been offered a replacement of the 2 books which are due to be dispatched soon. However I will then end up with 3 copies of the 2 books, I would like a refund, but yet again trying to contact customer service in time is probably impossible. A phone number is essential to avoid these problems.

Bought an old book but got a newer edition. When queried I was told picture on the web page is computer generated. So the lesson is check the ISBN no. (But in my case the nook was so old it didn't have an ISBN). As the picture may well not be the edition of the book you think it is. WOB did say they would refund with evidence of postage but I gave given both (!) incorrect versions to charity. WOB you need to check manually that the picture IS the book your selling.

I was sent an uncorrected advance copy of a book, which clearly said inside that it must not be sold. Wob said I could return it but would not refund the postage. I complained about this but have not had a reply. In addition, I did not think the book was accurately described as in Very Good condition.

The book I received had been extensively damaged by water — cover warped and rippled, pages swollen — yet the WOB listing said it was in good condition. Their definition of "good" includes this: "a book that has been read but remains in clean condition." My book was not in clean condition.
Dishonest listing. Do not recommend.

I ordered books from World of Books Aus yesterday but when I saw the shipping address was to Andorra and not to Australia. I filled in their customer contact form immediately, explaining the error. I also replied to their confirming email, immediately. The next day, I received an reply saying that the books had been sent "within twent-four hours" and I would receive a refund only if they were returned as undelivered. BAD. BAD. BAD. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.
I ordered four books same author and title for my book reading club. Only two books arrived with a random third book in the envelope. I have sent two emails and two messages via the website help bot but no reply after two weeks, no refund and no books. Won't be using WOB again.

Purchased 8 children's books from them listed as "very good" condition to save a few dollars off listing price. Of the 8 books, only 2 were actually as listed, the other 6 ranged in condition from good to well-worn! A couple were ex-library books with binding falling apart, most had food stains or ripped pages. Condition was terrible.
Only form of customer service is an automated bot which collects your information and tells you to wait 2 days for a response. I waited over 8 days for any help! After I provided pictures of condition and requested a return, another week of silence. A customer service representative said they would process a return, but I'm still waiting! Ridiculous company. Spend your money elsewhere, better deals are out there. I'm now going to file a claim with PayPal but that too will take another month to process. Avoid this company at all costs.

I purchases two books in "very good" condition. One book has multiple rips in it with missing pages. The other books was visibly dirty and had several pages taped together. I contacted customer service to return the books and offered to provide photos of the books' conditions. I waited a week with no reply from customer service. I will not be shopping at WOB in the future.

Ordered a GCSE modern world history textbook through wob.com. The problem started when there was no option for tracked shipping for my order as it was international. The timeframe was given as 21 days in which it has now been a month and it still has not arrived. Now realize that my order failed the quality control test and was never shipped. I did not receive any other updates on my email about my order than it was on its way. Had a chat to the agent on Facebook messenger in which they sent me a NZ post tracking number which after 1 week still did not work or update. Shocking experience feels like I have been scammed. Customer support says I should receive my refund in 48 hours lets hope that works. Terrible! They should at least provide mandatory tracked shipping for international orders.

I purchased a book on Worldofbooks Inc Amazon storefront on Thur, Oct 29th, the order marked as shipped on Thur, Oct 29th, but the company never shipped the item and did not provide the shipping tracking information. I have sent several emails regarding my order shipment issue, but neither my issue got resolved nor my questions have been replied to date. It seems that Worldofbooks Inc is a fraudulent company. Based on my experience, I would suggest other buyers be cautious about the business practice of the Worldofbooks company. Very disappointing shopping experience.

Ordered 'very good' book, which came scratched, dented, and discoloured. Customer service said they disagree the condition is not good enough and state I have to pay to send it back if I want a refund. Not the first time quality hasn't been to par, so I no longer recommend WoB or will be using them again.

Bought multiple DVDs which were listed as "very good condition". They were in reality dirty, scratched & damaged & they don't even refurbish them.
I had bought books without submitting the number of my house, I do understand I am at fault of this however the books were able to be sent through even without a full address, immediately after recieving the confirmation for the package I emailed WorldOfBooks to tell them I had incorrectly submitted my address and asked for a cancellation. I recieved back that they had already been shipped and the shipping details are automatic and cannot tell if the address is incorrect. (Seriously?). I had not even recieved an email telling me my items had been shipped. Thus began emailing back to front arguing with anyone available customer service, no one was of help at ALL and kept telling me they could not track where my package was and IF, by POSSIBILITY if my package was returned back to them I would recieve a refund, keep in mind these books are worth SEVENTY DOLLARS! They even told me to get in touch with Australian Post and again were no help when I was asked to get more shipping information from them and they told me nothing. This had happened in September, it is now January, and still, no package… Sad.

Sold me a book that was not as described, and refused to pay for return postage when I asked to return it.
Item description stated that the book was "not marred by notes", but it did have some writing in it. I wanted to return due to this with the intention of getting another copy. They refused to pay return postage even though they were the ones at fault.
As I bought it from them through Amazon's Marketplace, I am currently in the process of trying to get Amazon to step in.
I'm sure they are great if all goes right, but it is how they deal with things when they go wrong that really defines a company, and on that basis this company has completely failed. I certainly won't be using them again.
