Tip for consumers:
They offered me a $50 credit for all of my troubles. Not acceptable

Get Around allowed me to rent a car that was unsafe in several ways. I was using them in an emergency and had no time to pivot. I honestly don't consider myself a tough customer. The car was filthy and even had dried vomit in the passenger side window crease and residue on the door. The low tire alert was on, the key fob didn't work, so I couldn't lock the doors myself. The turn signals blinked inside the car, but once I checked the car's menu, the turn signals and park lights were all out. Not only was it unsafe, but in Chicago, very much prone to tickets and police encounters.
I sent photos and videos to the owner, who never responded to me at all. Not once. I reached out to Getaround, whose rep was nice, and he offered to reimburse a car wash, but hand car washes with attendants are not easy to find in Chicago, so I cleaned it myself so that I could manage my affairs. I have had no follow-up in the last several days. Their cars are priced very high and the level of care for the price is the worst value in the business.
The ease of access to a vehicle was good to have, but not with dried vomit and filth at an enormous price. There's more to it and there are pics and videos. The company needs to raise its standards or get out of the business. before someone gets hurt. The pics below are just a few.
