I am a mother of a 13 year old boy who was looking for various shoes (located in North Carolina)... and this holiday season was my first purchase in the world of online shoes outside of the normal US Stores I'm used to shopping!
Final Result - VERY happy with HypeUnique. I was skeptical at first, but today I received product from HypeUnique.is (make sure its the.is and no other ending -- I think i heard horror stories on.net).
Why was I skeptical? First purchase (different site) experience: My son originally requested a purchase from Realdialmotion -- we did NOT get that product and I do NOT recommend them. Basically, they sent up 'tracking/shipping' - but the shipping started from China and instead of sending to OUR address (in North Carolina), RealDialMotion shipped it somewhere in NJ where the shipping notification said "product denied" so it got shipped back to China. Of course, they got their shoes back and never responded back to me. After that, I was very skeptical about finding somewhere to purchase a pair of shoes my son wanted.
After looking at probably 20 different sites, I landed on HypeUnique.is -- and went to make the purchase. The first part that worried me... you 'had' to use WhatsApp (which I haven't used in YEARS) and it was quite the pain getting back onto my computer. I didn't want to make any 'international calls' and the app made me associate the account with my cell number (so I didnt like that but kept on going...). THEN, on WhatsApp (they were INCREDIBLY responsive, which I didnt know if it was a good thing for positive customer service, or someone waiting to scam me) -- but they sent thesame 'payment' method that I got screwed on before (they send you a link and then it goes through PayPal where from there you can use your CC). Then, another kicker... it was either Visa or MC that wasnt working (of course, the card I was using...), so I had to use another CC which I didn't want to use, but went ahead and used it. Of course, I get an alert that the CC was denied, and was like UGH, they got my CC info and now are going to use it. But, the rep on the WhatsApp stated it was likely just protection from my CC due to the charge. I checked my phone, and it did send me a link to click that I was confirming the purchase, so when I resubmitted - it went through. OK... at this point, I'm holding my breath as they said I'd get the tracking in 2-3 days. Well, day 3 and I received the tracking... felt a little better, but still worried since the last time, the bad RepDialMotion site sent my product to NJ and the tracking doesnt specify the 'end address' -- just where it is. I'd follow daily, and it would give an update every 2-3 days (in China, Customs, left customs, in US, etc) -- and today (December 13th) - I RECEIVED THE SHOES! So, now that I've received them, I told my son he could pick out another pair.
So, just very thankful to have received the shoes. Attaching the photo of the 'shipping' as well as the shoes.
