I ordered my 1st birchbox on 02/02/17 and it says it is still being prepped. how long will it be before it's mailed out. so far I am NOT really impressed with birchbox

I received a year subscription as a gift from my sister. I was super excited and looked forward to trying all kinds of products before committing to pay lots of money to wind up having to rerun stuff. I'm sure every girl goes through this... well, come to be that most products Birchbox samples can ONLY be bought through them and apparently "be made for birchbox". I'm disappointed with the product samples whats this all about?
