One month, and hours of calling and getting hung up on, I was told (by Ms. Maxwell, also helpful) to call and ask for the Account management Team to get results. I called and was connected to Kiana who was the kindest most helpful person ever. She was able to resolve a problem I had with two cameras that stopped working and no longer had any support. We have been with ADT for over 34 years. We are a retired couple on a fixed income. I recently installed an alarm system to try and save some money. I called to cancel, and they say I am under contract until June of next year and that we owe close to $300. Last time was talked to ADT we thought we were month to month contract. I talked to several people in billing, and none of them said they could do anything to forgive the charge. In the last 34 years, we've paid ADT over $20,000. I am amazed at how heartless this company is. I would strongly recommend using a different company when it comes to security.

I went all the way up to their leadership team (for levels up), and after all the complaints they did not honor their warranty. They told me the only way to get any refund was to keep their terrible, undependable service. They don't care! How can they stay in business. Read their reviews. Go else where.

Horrible company
Scammers. They lied and extended the contract themselves without my consent, withdrew money from my bank 4-5 times a month, and in different amounts that were not agreed upon! I had to block my automatic payment. They blatantly lied that they upgraded the system in the house when no one was home for 2.5 years, and I was in another state with my dying mother. My house was robbed twice, and the system did not work, the police fined me $ 50 for each false call. Blatantly lied that I signed a contract for another 5 years, and extended it themselves without my signature and consent. Several days on the phone 4-5 hours with ADT. I received bills for five years and fines without signing any agreements and contracts. It was a real mockery. If it were not for the help of my lawyer, I would not have been able to put an end to this lawlessness and mockery. AVOID THIS SCAM COMPANY

My mother had ADT and passed away. I sold her house and canceled the service by phone with ADT. They continue to send text and mail about late payments. I have spoke to them on the phone to make sure it was canceled and they said that it was. Guess what, the geniuses at ADT continue to mail and text about late payments. I have never dealt with a company so STUPID in my life. I am not sure if there customer service people are from another country or another planet. American companies need to bring customer service back to the USA. I pay in US dollars and expect service in the US.

All I am going to say is they are liars, thiefs and none of the technicians know what they are doing! 6 times I have had technicians to my house to either install or fix faulty equipment. Wasn't able to use alarm for months and was charged and told once all my equipment got installed I could get the refund. It has taken 6 months to get it all installed because they are liars and don't know what they are doing! Called to get refund for the months I couldn't use system and the travel charges for all the times they came out and didn't have all my equipment ordered in May. Was told they would give me 1 month refund! I am so irate after the horrible experiences I have had the last 6 months and promises to refund the months I couldn't use the system because they didn't fix it and they offer me $40 refund. Thief's and liars. BEWARE. I am filing with the BBB tomorrow like the other 10,000 + customers in the past 3 years.

Most recently one of the camera stopped working. The camera worked just fine after it was installed. (BTW system was upwards of $6k). I called ADT, some kid comes out and wants to sell me another piece of equipment blaming it on the WiFi, which was same system in place 3 months and 1 week earlier. I say that because after this kid did nothing to fix the problem i get a service bill for $59.00. When i complained, my ADT Custom home Solutions Advisor, Robert Cogan says that there is only a 90 day warranty and the service call was "about a week past the 90 days" ( a quote from his text). How far customer service has come. I will now raise this issue to senior management, it will take significant time and effort and eventually they will waive the $59. And come fix the system, but thats what it takes these days. ADT use to be the gold standard in customer service, now its not even Bronze.

I HAD BEEN AN ADT CUSTOMER FOR YEARS. I WANTED TO CANCEL MY SERVICE. I CALLED IN MAY, JULY, AUGUST AND COULD NEVER GET THEM TO CANCEL IT. The ADT System is fairly reliable. But their Customer Service is HORRIBLE! And if you purchase their Closed Circuit System in addition to the standard service, good luck. You can't call them directly. You need to wait in the queue, explain it to the agent and then wait in another queue as it's a separate company within ADT with NO DIRECT ACCESS. And if you need a tech, good luck getting one in less than a week.

I signed up for services and the work order was not completed. The field manager came and he couldn't fix the problem either. The field manager said he was going to make an appointment in which he never did so not only did I miss a day of work for nothing but they want to schedule another appointment in which I'm scared they won't show for that either, I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE TO THIS COMPANY EVER, And when I called to speak to a manager the agent said there was no manager available so that would be part of the issue that they don't have enough help as well.

ADT is so unprofessional I thought for a job that I was just curious about something that I was interested a few years ago had a recommendation from my friend to look into this company started doing my research and I was disappointed looking at all the several one star reviews something in my gut told me not to do the interview but I gave it a shot anyways with interview and maybe they have something great to offer I was going to having an interview with Wynn, Baracus we set a date and time for them to call me over the phone. They text me 30 minutes prior before the interview saying they can't wait to meet me or hear from me. Had me waiting all day for over 24 hours with no response or courtesy to ever reach out to me at all I had to be the one to reach out to them and asked them what happened. Wynn, Baracus I hope you're reading this message. Please take your job seriously next time because you are not representing your company at the highest level for wasting peoples time out of their day peace. I called ADT two times to speak to a CSA. At first I wanted To cancel service but when she told me I'd owe over 1,000 due to the contract terms, I said, forget it I'll just keep the service for now, pay monthly and thought I was fine. I've then received a bill for the amount of over $1000 and they said they were going to take it out of my account in five days. I then called another customer service rep who assured me that the service had not been canceled and that the $1000 would not be deducted automatically from my checking account. Well, of course, one week later, the money was automatically taken out of my checking account which means that two customer service associate were directly lying to me. When I called to try and resolve this matter, I got absolutely nowhere speaking with CSAs who didn't understand the problem and had to go from department department. I finally got to management and they offered to extend the contract for two more years, which was the exact opposite of what I was trying to do.
I think I'm more mad about the fact that the customer service associate lied to me. Funny -I just bought a new home I was going to install the ADT service in my new home as well, but I will never use them again, nor will I ever recommend them again. Not trustworthy at all!

This company doesn't deserve a 1 rating. If I can choose 0, I would. After months of back and forth telling them that our cameras didn't work, we finally got a technician came out to repair or replace the cameras. The technician came and told us that we will need to reschedule for another week and half because he didn't have a camera nor a ladder to do the work. They knew that our cameras didn't work. Why the heck didn't they bring a camera to repair or replacement? When I called in to escalate the repair since we had waited for so long, the customer service couldn't find our address on file. Our address is 1234 FM 423 (not a real address). The customer rep asked whether the FM is correct? She never heard of a street name FM. She then proceeded to transfer us to another customer service representative who couldn't help us either. We asked to talk to a supervisor to escalate the repair. Wait on the phone some more time and the supposed supervisor came online. She said that we called the wrong department. This is absolutely ridiculous and then transferred us to another customer representative. We are still on the phone waiting for answer. It had been about an hour. Such a waste of my time. Avoid this company at all cost.

Besides the fact we have great WiFi the cameras work barely and the reps are rude AF and the lies are ridiculous! How in the hell does our bill go from $90 a month the past nine months to you sending a bill for $900 you're deranged and it damn sure won't get paid. If you live in Franklin, NC DO NOT USE ADT this is the worst security place I've ever used. The people do not want to do their jobs at all and then want to get rude. And its always one lie right after the other. So no I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend anyone to them with the way my family and I have been treated by them. I guess whatever they can do to rip you off they will but remember god don't like ugly and I pray this company gets shut down. As a property manager, I've had my fair share of experiences with various service providers, but my recent dealings with ADT have been particularly frustrating and disappointing. My client signed up for ADT Home Security in 2013, providing the service as an amenity to a tenant. The same tenant remained in the property until 2022, and upon their move-out, my client (the landlord) decided not to continue the service with ADT. After faithfully paying for ADT's service for nearly a decade, my client has been trying to cancel the service for two years, which has gone unused for two years.
Despite multiple attempts, ADT has refused to cancel the service, citing the need for a PIN code that they claim is being sent to the subject property. The new tenant said they had not received any mail from ADT. We have repeatedly requested that the PIN code be sent to our property management office, which is the mailing address for the account, yet absolutely no PIN has been mailed to us. After exhausting all reasonable options, my client decided to stop paying the bill recently. Now, ADT is threatening collections and adverse credit reporting. This is a concern as the landlord has the bill coming to my address with my name on the mailing.
I have called ADT and asked to speak with a manager to resolve this issue, but to no avail. The lack of resolution and the runaround we've experienced highlight what I believe to be unfair business practices. ADT appears to be holding my client hostage, forcing payments for a service that is no longer used or needed. ADT is the worst home security company. They can't be trusted. I am a disabled veteran and do not appreciate all the lies that ADT has been telling. They said they will send their technician to install equipment. When the tech came, he was in a adt vehicle wearing adt clothing. When I had an issue a fee weeks later, I was told that I had to pay for LVD Concepts Inc to come reconnect my back camera. I later found out that the tech from LVD Concepts was the one wearing adt clothing and driving an adt vehicle. I was totally unaware that another company was in my home. Please do your research and do not trust ADT. I am very disappointed in their lack of professional & dishonesty.

I had a system installed in October - alarm and CCTV. Eleven home appointments later, it still is not fully fuctional. Their technical staff do not all know how the system works; and even if you tell them the nature of what is wrong when scheduling an appointment, the technician will show up and not know what the issue is, and as often as not, they don't have what they need to fix it or are not knowledgeable of the issue. Worse, they want to charge for each visit. It sems to me that you should not have to pay extra when they failed to install something correctly. Customer service is more of a theory with company. Trying to escalate complaints to someone higher in the chain does not work either.

Waited a year to get google camera for the front of house. Was told that the price was 293.00 (2 Apr 24) Then was sold a nest to go inside for 49.00. Really thought this was a win-win. Camera worked for 5 hours, then read low battery. Called and Tech came out found that the electrician never turned the switch on (23 Apr 24) So, the camera was placed on charge for 2 days, that's when the Tech came back. Hooked back up, worked great. Check account 95.00 (25 Apr 24) was drafted from account. Called Tech he said that he would take care of it. Check account (4 Apr 24) now pending 244.00. Called ADT they say that the Google nest is 850.00. Explained that I was not told this. They say someone will call you next week. The WORST...

LIARS! They coerced me into signing up for a system. The paperwork & propsal they showed me was a low monthly payment. The actual loan agreement was higher, but their sales team showed me multiple credits I was approved for and assured me my payments would never be higher. After the system was installed (which took over 4 months and included extensive damage to my property) I found out they never filed correct paperwork or finished the job in time, so both credits were delayed and therefore a higher amount WAS incurred. After a few phone calls, they finally admitted their mistake and assured me they would be covering the higher cost! After doing that for 2 months, they decided they just didn't want to anymore and told me I was on my own and anything they say in a phonecall they cant be held accountable for. They lied and lied again and took no responsibility. NEVER work with this company. They may seem like they have good customer service, but they literally lie about everything just to get the product installed and you paying more than you agreed to. Hope you have a lawyer ready if you deal with them, you'll need it.

I have ADT for many years,they never get problems with me. I paid Diirect.April 17 I chat with TeQuecia and ask for simple help-just letter for insurance.She was not professional and didn't tell when I will get this proof.But every week I got email from ADT to upgrade service. It's meant more money,I'm not sure about service.I'm retired old may and with low SS.But looking like ADT will put me out. These are crazy contracts. I purchased over $900 worth of equipment and signed (without realizing it) a 5 year contract. Life happened and I needed to sell my home quickly - ended up with a ridiculous buy out.

So I had the ADT call the cops and Adt says cops are not coming because ADT does not have our permit number.
So, i call the police department in my city,
And the police who is chief of Alarm permits division looks up my address and says we have the permit and ADT is supposed to call 911 directly and they did not.
So after paying these guys for 5 years, when the actual situation demands that they take care of their responsibility, they bail on us, by telling us that we don't have alarm permit! But that cannot be true because once before they called the cops when Alarm went off, just fine and that means they had the permit number.
This is unacceptable.
I am looking to go to other provider. I will make sure to educate people about ADT and hopefully no one else has to deal with situation like we did.

When I first called for information, the customer service rep said they could probably use my Vivint equipment, but they couldn't. It's proprietary. It was never possible. They lied.
I told the installer that I was also considering Brinks and he said Brinks uses ADT equipment and would send ADT out if I needed service. That was another lie. Brinks uses alarm.com equipment and they do not send ADT to service their accounts.
Then the installer kept increasing the amount of new equipment I would need to buy after he already started installing the system. I ended up paying about $600 for the installation of new equipment. Then the installer didn't explain the system or even leave a yard sign.
The second panel stopped working after a week. I had to use the virtual tech support person to get it back online. When it wasn't working, my external door wouldn't arm.
Then the panel stopped working again about two weeks later. I had only been a customer for a month! I called to explain that this is the second time the panel has stopped working since the April 11 installation. They wouldn't send a service tech. I had to use the virtual option or pay for a service call ($169). After I gave notice of cancelation, they offered to send someone, but by then, it was too late.
Then as I was having Brinks replace their crappy equipment with quality equipment, they didn't call to say the system was offline until 24 hours later! Anyone could have taken that system offline! I specifically didn't tell them in advance to see what their response would be. I was not surprised by their inaction.
I requested a full equipment refund with cancelation. When I tried to cancel, they said I'd have to pay a cancelation fee. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and they offered to waive the early termination fee of $335.98 but wouldn't let me return the equipment for a refund. Even they don't want their crappy equipment!
This is what you can expect as an ADT customer. Go with Brinks! The equipment is much higher quality.
