How does Amazon factor in the postal cost

The shipping cost is in the listing if that's what you're asking. If you click on new/used, it will be below the cost. If you have Prime, most things are free shipping.

As others have commented they use magical trickery which I believe to be known at Colleges as Calculus, a.k.a. Mathematics (math for short)..

Prime is useless I have prime and the products come weeks later

They display what shipping is going to cost and you can select various options. For Prime members, Prime items are free 2-day shipping in qualifying areas.

It tricks you. It doesnt list how much postage is so amazon can fool you into thinking the item is cheaper than it is.
