Can some of the records about families be inaccurate? Meaning people latching onto other families, or trying to hide non-white ancestry by putting "white"?

Yes - anyone can enter any data into the site. Therefore, while what you enter about your family might be accurate, a random person not even related to you could completely corrupt your entire family tree.
