on 5/11/15It's really a shame that people who don't know how to do things are so quick to reply to others. To stop updates each person who RECEIVES the updates needs to click on the down arrow next to their name in the upper right hand corner, which will give a drop-down menu. From there go to My Alerts, and then change delivery options. You know, even if you don't know how to do it, it only takes a second to google the question and find the correct answer.
Just advice them to block the email address and put the sites email in the spam box. I deactivated Ancestry.com from any access to my bank account through my bank.
I really don't know, I would just presume that's the way Ancestry works. As Ancestry told me that it is simply the 'host' and is not responsible and when yout find that something is incorrect Ancestry simply adopts the 'not responsible' attitude.
I have no idea. Since I put my tree on ancestry, but kept it "private". Reason being, is, when you "invite" people to your tree. ALL of their garbage (inaccurate info) ends up on your tree. Just like when you click on that little green leaf called "hints".
