OMN requires some computer expertise (not a lot), but that must be expected for a product which does so much. I have used for well over ten years, and when I have occasionally needed support it has been efficient, friendly and fairly quick.
I spent a lot of money on DVDs a few years ago. The process of unlocking the maps was horribly convoluted. Now that I want to use the maps on a new computer, I find I cannot because Anquet have unilaterally stopped unlocking them. Seems fraudulent to me. They have offered me 30% off the first year of a subscription to some new con they've thought up. How nice of them! Not.
I purchased an autorenew subscription to their maps. Now I cannot login. Only way to contact them is through their sales email.
They have not solved the problem and are not replying anymore.
Their map system seems hopelessly complicated and not user friendly. I want a refund.
Like other users I was forced down the OMN route when Anquet stopped the DVD having spent hundreds of ponds on mapping software. I even bought the French maps for my trips to the Alps and cannot use these now, The OMN app is fine for walking down the canal tow path on a sunny day but is next to useless on a high mountain in poor visibility and weather conditions. Having loaded a route the app is constantly dropping the walk from the app rendering it a pain to scroll through menu's to find it and reload it to the screen. My conclusion is that this is poor and cannot recommend it.
Excellent app and full backup service when you need to ask questions. Always worked out on the hill so never been totally lost since taking it out.
Always works out on the hill for me, and its great also having it on my PC and mac at home. Support when I have needed it has been quick and helpful.
