on 2/19/16I am planninng on filing a law suit. They are taking advantage of families who are trying to get help.
I would be interested. I am in los angeles.
I would be interested. I got so many text messages from people that got into their data bank that were total scams.
Hello, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are currently investigating Care.com. This is important enough to me that they have scammed me out of 6 months of payments and I had to close my credit card for Fraud. If you have had a bad experience with Care.com, I would encourage you to file a complaint with BBB. If enough people complain, then they will take more serious action. Here is the website. It is a short process to submit a complaint.

This is a re-post of another persons post that spoke exactly to my experience using care.com. I wish I had looked at care.com reviews online prior to signing up and paying several years of fees to this company. I work in the business world and it is not difficult to see that Care.com is unethical and underhanded in their policies, and that they manipulate their site and image to be more positive than it is in reality. There are so many negative reviews posted all over the internet regarding care.com, if I had seen those first I would never have used this site! And yet, after looking at the complaints online and the responses from customer service, care.com blatantly disregards complaints by consumers. It is disappointing to see the lack of customer service in a company that claims to be a trustworthy and valuable resource for finding reliable caregivers. People with whom you entrust your children, home, and elderly family members. It is especially frightening to see that there are numerous complaints from members that were removed from care.com site after posting a negative review about a caregiver. Care.com states in it's policy that they can close any member's account at any time for any (or no) reason, and that the member will not be informed why their account was closed. This obviously brings up the concern that care.com eliminates members that post honest (but negative) reviews because it looks bad for care.com to have many poorly rated caregivers. It would obviously make their company less attractive to consumers who have to wade through numerous caregivers to find one that is well rated by previous employees. It would also provide a poor impression of the site to new members who see a lot of bad reviews, thus being bad for care.com's business and retaining of customers. I would warn consumers to find another method of searching for caregivers.
Yes I was in the process but wasn't able to proceed because I had challenged the charges and was reimbursed by my credit card company. I have a firm in Chicago prepared to file a case if they can get a client who signed up on their smartphone app (not on a computer) who is interested. Please contact me at tlschnei@yahoo.com if you're interested in seeing this through
I sure hope so! This company has no ethics and only cares about making money at the costs of their customers. They used bait switched on me and after going back and forth with my credit card company, I just gave up. I truly hope they get what they deserve and fast. I would be more than happy to cooperate or even donate to any legitimate legal action against them.
I will see what my lawyer says
If they can do something about it, I am all for it. The more people get involved, the better chance to get rid of care.com. I got purely scam text messages and only one response from someone looking for a caregiver. But this person sounded super strange on the phone... So I didn't proceed. WASTE OF MONEY!
In 7 years I've never gotten one job off of this web site. Just scam text messages from people overseas. Babysitting is how. I earn a living and has dried up my business. I don't think this company is honest. And is only interested in ripping people off
I'm concerned about all the comments and reviews about members being banned as soon as they leave an honest review on the site about a negative experience with a caregiver. That happened to me and I was shocked to see this is a common occurrence! That is unethical considering that people use care.com to find caregivers with whom to entrust their children and elderly family members and homes. They clearly don't want negative reviews on their site
I have been applying for jobs for over a year with this company I have yet to get a response for any of the jobs I applied for. I don't get a response from any of the people that's posting these jobs honestly I think it's a scam.
I'd also be interested in this class action. They make it impossible to terminate their "subscribtion".
Thankfully I did not sign up. What a stupid business model. Wyzant is a site for tutoring and its free until you find someone and then a portion of the fee pays for the service. With care.com its $36 minimum and there may not even be a match! I added my email address to my job posting and got a nasty email that I violated their terms and my job post was removed. So what- they didnt get a dime from me. Stupid and fraudulent. This is a subscription service that offers nothing in return.
I'm interested. As an upgraded membership and only getting messages from scams, it's quite annoying. Going to try calling them tomorrow to cancel my account.
Apparently there have been several class action suits against care.com. Just search and you will find a few. Something needs to be done about this company. You would think FCC would do something about this considering Care.com continues to misrepresent their products. Here is one suit that happened in 2020. Wish I would have known about this beforehand. https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2020/07/14/care-com-settles-lawsuit-claiming-it-misrepresented-background-checks-auto-renewed-subscriptions/
Very interested here as well. Had my account permanently closed for no reason after years of hard work with special needs children and great reviews. They have a way to much power and only care about collecting money. Destroying peoples lives and careers every single day.
I definitely want to file a class action against Care.com. My daughter and I were supposed to get paid but they closed my account without any investigation at all. Took the person's word for it; whatever they may have said. Now we are down 2 months pay. Please contact me. I have been doing this for years.
I would like to join a class action suit. This company is stealing from people and ruining reputations.
I want into the lawsuit. I was billed for several years unknowingly.
I would be interested in joining all of you because I was charged over $2000 for 7 years and I never even used their service. I signed up and then did not need anyone and I did not realise they would charge my credit card over and over and not give me one document stating this or I would have cancelled right away. Apparently this is what happened to most of us. So I would be more then glad to join in.
I am looking into sueing Care.com as well. They deleted my account literally out of the blue after 10 + yrs of me having my profile on their site! They also deleted my daughters profile for absolutely no good reason!
I left a bad review that was well-deserved and got banned from the sie wth a defamatory email to everyone I ever contacted. I am considering suing them.
This "organization" is not only a scam for clients looking to hire a care giver, but for the professional care giver looking to be hired! They do not discriminate and something SHOULD be done about Care.com.
I wouldn't file one but I'd offer to help someone who did!
We used their $#*!ty scam service in the Netherlands, nos sure if we can do anything.
I didn't leave a review of the company My inter action w/them was not satisfactory at all I happened to get lucky w/ one if their caregivers who was excellent and I gave her a good review
