Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from CrowdRise staff and previous consumers.
Hey Nicole, Thanks so much for reaching out and that's a great question. CrowdRise is an open platform that anyone in the world can use, but the only way you can collect your money is if you have a US social security number and US bank account OR a Canadian social insurance number and Canadian bank account. If you don't live in the US or Canada, you would have to have a relative who lives in the US or Canada set up your fundraiser, link their bank account and collect the money for you. Please emails us at Quintas@CrowdRise.com if you have any additional questions and we'll be standing by. Quintas, CrowdRise Customer Service Person

Hey Val, Thanks for reaching out and I'm happy to help. You can definitely raise money for that on CrowdRise and it sounds like an incredible cause. The category you choose is completely up to you and won't affect your overall fundraiser too much but I suggest "Memorials & Tributes" If you change your mind you can always switch it up after your fundraiser is created. Feel free send us a note at Quintas@CrowdRise.com if you have any other questions about getting your fundraiser started. Quintas CrowdRise Customer Service Person
Hey Steve, Thanks for reaching out and great question. The fee percentage definitely varies from donation to donation. Whatever the amount is, if you decide not to cover it on behalf of the cause, it will initially be taken from their total donations raised. However, the cool part is if their project's overall effective rate exceeds 5% (half of the percentage you mentioned), CrowdRise will literally write them a check to make up the difference so they will end up paying either 5% (max) or less for the duration of the campaign. Also, some Charities on CrowdRise are on a 3% guaranteed plan, so depending on which Organization you're helping, it may even be 7% less than you estimated in your question. So great. Thanks again and if you have any other questions along the way, feel free to write us at Quintas@CrowdRise.com and we'll be all over it. Quintas CrowdRise Customer Service Person
Hey Betty, Thanks for reaching out and greatest question of the day. If you already have your 501c3 Tax Exempt status with the IRS (or Letter of Determination), your Charity might already be on CrowdRise. You can search either by name or EIN on our site to double check. If you have not yet received 501c3 status, you can always start up a Personal Account profile in the meantime and then let us know once you have officially filed with the IRS. Either way, we can help you expedite the Charity being added not only to GuideStar, but also to CrowdRise. We just like to make sure you're Charity is officially recognized by IRS and GuideStar so we can make sure all of your donors receive tax-deductible donation receipts. Once you're on CrowdRise with a Charity account, it's super easy to ensure the funds donated to your cause get routed right to you. We have two amazing payment processors and both of them are very seamless and require minimal time to set up, depending on how you want to receive the funds (either by check or electronically right to your Charity bank account). Let me know if you have any other questions by emailing Quintas@CrowdRise.com (for a super quick response) and we're standing by to help with everything. Quintas CrowdRise Customer Service Person
Hey Edwin-John, Thanks so much for emailing. Unfortunately, I don't think this inquiry was meant for us, as the phrase "downline" usually refers to multi-level marketing practices and CrowdRise is made for fundraising. CrowdRise is an open crowdfunding platform that anyone in the world can use, but the only way you can collect your money is if you have a US social security number and US bank account OR a Canadian social insurance number and Canadian bank account. Since you live in lovely Nigeria, if you would like to fundraise on CrowdRise you would have to have a relative who lives in the US or Canada set up your fundraiser, link their bank account and collect the money for you. If you can you identify a relative who can help you out, chime back into Quintas@CrowdRise.com with their first name, last name and email address and we will be happy to help you both get set up to fundraise. Please let us know if you have any questions and we'll be standing by. Quintas CrowdRise Customer Service Person
Hey Bettylou, Thanks for reaching out and I can definitely shed some light on that. You can definitely use your personal email address to set up a fundraising project for your church. Your contact information will not be made public. There will be a CONTACT button on the fundraiser that people can use to reach out and you will be emailed through the platform. So great. If you have any additional questions you can email us at Quintas@CrowdRise.com and we will follow up with ya' super fast. Quintas CrowdRise Customer Service Person
Hey Peter, Thanks for your question and here's a brief overview. CrowdRise is an online fundraising platform. Our goal is to make it super fast, easy and actually fun to set up a fundraiser so you can raise more money than you ever thought possible for your favorite cause. You can set up a fundraiser to either benefit a US or Canadian-based 501c3 charity or you can set up a fundraiser linked to your US or Canadian bank account to raise money to help a personal cause. For instance, you can raise funds for someone who had a house fire, to assist in educational costs or for medical bills. All pretty amazing and all about doing a little good. If you work for a company who has a charitable matching gift program in place, CrowdRise is happy to help facilitate that. You can check out some more info by scrolling down our How It Works page Here (https://www.crowdrise.com/online-fundraising). Our FAQ's may be helpful as well. You're always welcome to email Quintas@CrowdRise.com if you have any other questions about crowdfunding or how to build a better mousetrap. Quintas CrowdRise Customer Service Person
Hey Sandy, Thanks so much for reaching out and I'm so happy to help. To post a video to your fundraiser page, it's super easy and here's what you'll want to do: 1- First, make sure you have already uploaded your video on either Vimeo or YouTube 2- Log into your CrowdRise account and head to your Fundraiser page 3- Click the "Edit Fundraiser" tab 4- Scroll down to the "Upload Pics and Videos" header and click the orange "(Edit)" link to the right of the word 'Videos' 5- Click the field where it asks for your Vimeo or Youtube URL 6- Paste the URL from either of the above mentioned sites into that field and click Save. And you should be in such good shape. If you are having any trouble with this or don't feel like tinkering with it anymore, attach the photo you want to upload to a reply email. Then, I can definitely post it for you. So great and I'm standing by to give you the best customer service in the world.
