Yesterday, I purchased a Dalvey pocket watch and requested specialist engraving (a picture) and i have received this today! I was shocked at how quick this was done.
I have been in contact with the customer service team a few times to discuss the picture I wished to be engraved and always had a very speedy, friendly and helpful response. The price was reasonable for engraving service, they sent me a copy of the artwork from the engraver to ensure I was happy with the drawing before it was engraved onto the watch. Overall the service was excellent and would use them in the future. The quality of the watch, the presentation and the engraving is absolutely stunning. I cannot fault one thing about this company. I recently had the need to contact Dalvey with an after sales support need. A simple request to purchase a part for my hip flask, a gift my daughters bought me some years ago. Elsika identified exactly what I needed within the hour, and arranged replacements the same day. Just the facts…
- received their hip flask as a gift in November
- discovered it had a leak upon first use in December
- contacted them in January regarding their defective products
- through a continuum of emails with their customer service and replies (4 so far) I have provided upon their demand:. Photos of the original packaging and labels. Video of the leaking, defective product. Names and emails of my friends who gave me the gift
- and now they want me to contact my friends to prove THEY PURCHASED IT!
NEVER AGAIN! Too bad they don't stand by their product. Now, instead of an interesting accessory, it's nothing more than a joke!

Disgusting company. I've never had such a horrible experience if I had to return the item. I opened box of the watch and closed it without taking it out of the box. But when I send it back, they said it was scratched and don't want to give me a refund. Such a horrible liers, cheating customers so badly. I would never expect it from such a big company. I'm running my own business and if people want to return something, I just give them full refund. This big company should be ashamed of themselves, to lie and chet customers like this, saying that the watch was scratched, if it wasn't even taken out of the box. Avoid this disgusting company or you going to be ripped off so much. Like never before.

I've purchased the watch, but didn't use it, sent it back and didn't receive a refund at all.
I purchased this watch as a gift and ordered engraving by Dalvey. The parcel was dispatched quickly, but the watch was 100% unusable. When I tried to adjust the time, the minute hand wasn't moving (imagine you have to wait 50 minutes to make watch run from the correct time moment). When I winded them and let them work, I noticed that the minute hand works fine, but the hour hand lags significantly. I contacted the support and found out that personalized goods (with engraving) can't be refunded. So I just had a not cheap and not working piece of metal. I also couldn't send them back to be repaired, because
1) there's no guaranty that they won't say it was broken by the shipping company
2) they use only very pricey way to ship, and shipping costs should be paid by me.
I brought it to a local watchmaker. First of all, he said that the mechanism is made in China (which doesn't mean that it's bad by definition, but the Dalvey website hides this information). But, luckily, he repaired it by replacing one part of mechanism. Also, he said that it's not the first time when he works with such watch that was sold with defects.
So better don't buy it, unless you want to have a nice outer shell wits something obscure inside.
I had never heard of this company prior to ordering, but have been SO impressed with them! My husband & I wanted to get a nice commemorative gift for a dear friend to mark an event at which he is being honored. I found the Dalvey Voyager compass online, but was hesitant to order as the event was about 2 1/2 weeks away and the compass would have to be engraved and then shipped to the U.S. from Scotland. I messaged Dalvey customer service with a question about whether it could be done and delivered by the time needed. They messaged back within a short time that same day. I ordered the compass Jan. 31, with personalized engraving, and qualified for free shipping. Received an email the very next day that the order was completed and was being sent for shipment, along with a UPS shipping tracking #. Received the custom engraved compass at my home in the U.S. on Feb. 6, LESS THAN ONE WEEK AFTER PLACING MY ORDER! The compass is beautiful, engraving was just as I requested, and the packaging is very nice. I received a follow-up email from Dalvey customer service as soon as the compass was delivered, confirming I received it and asking if I was happy with it. Communication was outstanding. This is a gift we are proud & excited to give our friend and can't wait to see him open it! I would highly recommend Dalvey and would purchase from them again.

We were looking for christening presents and Dalvey had exactly what we wanted. We bought two beautiful compasses, engraved for our grandson and granddaughter.
Generally okay pocketwatch but not suitable as a gift, I bought it as a gift. However I don't like that their website isn't very open about the fact none of their pocketwatches are made in Scotland, they simply allude that is. When buying I thought it was made in Scotland. But When it arrived (very fast shipping to NZ), the personal engraving is big and cheap looking (not the type of dainty engraving you would get at a high end jewelry store) and even the size and depth of the logo on the pocketwatch in relation to it's size was outrageously grotesque (especially when you cimpare it to Swiss made watches and it's minute details) and its packaging looked very, very cheap (it sits on a disgusting moulded plastic bed) which is very disappointing, nothing about it had that Scottish feel to it, so I did more research and turns out these are made in China, the quality doesn't match the price. The mechanism itself seems okay, although I did have a few issues sometimes. Just wish they are open about it's country of manufacture on their website, clearly they're ashamed and trying to cash in the idea of that Scottish craftsmanship - which it certainly is not.
I attempted to have a Dalvey pocketwatch repaired by the manufacturer. This watch was sent from the USA to Scotland as per instruction from Dalvey Customer Service in Scotland. I tracked the watch to Great Britain, where Dalvey was notified that additional cost was incurred. Despite talking with the Dalvey customer Service rep, where she said this is normal and that Dalvey would take care of retrieving the watch for repair, the watch then sat on a shelf at the Postal Facility location for 2X weeks. For some unknown circumstance it was never retrieved, and was eventually re-routed back to me in the USA. Wait! It now gets even more curious. After additional phone calls to Scotland and additional conversation with the same Customer Service rep, she told me Dalvey would send me the parts necessary for repair... still waiting on that one (Aug 25/14 - Jan 11/15. I also tried emailing Sir Patrick, the apparent President of the Company with my experience and to this point have received no reply. I would suggest to anyone that considers purchasing any tangible item from this company, one that one day may require customer service, would take my experience and consider another choice.
I ordered a Christmas gift for our son in law on November 28,2022 and it has yet to arrive here in the United States.Today is December 20,2022. It is to my understanding "now" that the royal mail delivery service had been planning a strike way before I placed my order on November 28,2022 and yet I wasn't told that there could possibly be a delay in delivery to the United States. For weeks I sent numerous emails to Dalvey and we went back and forth in email exchanges. I even asked them a few days ago if they could just send me another one out and to expedite the shipping at no additional cost to me as a good faith measure. They refused. I guess they need the $180 plus more than I. I finally got an update today from USPS showing it is still in the Uk. I spoke with a Representative from the USPS and they said there is no way I will receive my compass before Christmas. That it could possibly stay in customs for a month.
BEWARE OF ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY. They have terrible customer service. I plan on having AMX reverse the charges.
