As a student, I use Google Docs a lot. From essays to poems to outlines, all my typing is done on Google Docs. I really do like the site, it is very useful, has the necessary functions I need, a myriad of font options, a relatively reliable auto-correct. The optional extensions, while not something I have ever used, look to be quite useful. But...in specific circumstances. I digress. Basically, it is a very useful site, with good services. However, I have one gripe. The hit and miss save feature. Most of the time, like 95% of the time, everything is fine. However, over the years I have used Google Docs, there have been a handful of times where entire documents vanish. Completely. Could be user error, but it has happened enough that I'm not to sure. Anyway, great site, would recommend.

Google Docs is disappointing. As an avid reader and writer, I was excited to have a new medium to explore my craft. I'd heard generally good reviews of it and two of the schools I've attended have used Google products as their teaching format. Unfortunately, the only thing this would be good for writing is fanfiction. Not to drag fanfiction, but it's just not a good format. It's stuck in a super weird form of indentation and I can't make different headers for whatever pages I want (I'm writing a musical and that's kind of critical). Overall, just disappointing for anyone who wants to use it for something serious.
Tip for consumers:
Be ready for difficulty formatting.

Google docs is very helpful for my college work. There are some bad things about it tho. Why can't I change the color permanently, like bro I just need to answer in a different color stop making me move my thing all the way back up and changing it. But other than that I like it.

Google Docs is way more user friendly than microsoft word and is overall very good for school. The settings aren't too complex and you can easily attach google docs into assignments on google classroom without any problems. You can also send google docs through gmail very easily to other people. Would recommend, especially if you are a student.
Tip for consumers:
Definitely try it, very good and user friendly!

Google docs is kind of annoying, for multiple reasons:
- If you want to insert a textbox, then you'll have to go to "drawing" then make one, and then paste it. There isn't an easy way to do it
- When inserting images, even with fixed formatting, half of the images disappear, or else they decide to go all over the place.
- It sometimes freezes for no reason
However other than that, if you just want to write a few paragraphs, then it's fine. It works in the way that it is a place for documents, as well as an easy place to share your work. There are also templates that you can use.
Overall, I'd say that you can use it - but be prepared for challenges.

My experience with Google docs was excellent and it was the best experience of my life! They helped me out with all of my needs and were very helpful. The site was easily reachable and a very well made site. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and you will too!

In college, for shared documents, Google Docs was always the way to go. It made group projects easy to share and avoided the "File to Large" error in emails. However, it can be tricky when sharing a document with multiple people at the same time. I think this might simply be user error more than product error, but I haven't exactly had the best of luck when multiple people are editing. There were format errors, the words were not being underlines to indicate incorrect spelling, the curser for other people's typing would be in the wrong place, pages would merge, etc. So, as the title of this review states, I think Google Docs is good in theory, for people using it simply as their form of Microsoft Word, since it is a free service. However, for working in groups, it's not exactly the "best" way to go. Hope this helps!

The main advantage or it can be a disadvantage as well that many user can edit google doc at once. It can be used as web application as well as mobile app. Not more useful than Microsoft Word.

All students will understand the pain of having to revise and complete work at home, and that was always really difficult for me because I didn't have Microsoft Word on my laptop. When Google Docs was recommended to me, I wasn't expecting it to be so similar to Word! It has all the features of Word, and honestly, I think it's better. Not only that, It's free! It's ideal for those who need to type a document but cannot afford to pay for Word.
I thought that it would be really hard to convert the file to a Microsoft Word file, but it's actually really easy! All you need to do is download the file from Google Drive and it will automatically convert it. I would absolutely recommend it and other Google apps.
