You can buy a writers reference book which is very helpful. I would recommend one by Christopher Leland which is humorous and helpful and never boring. Warning you will read beyond what you were looking up to start with because it is so interesting. "The Creative Writer's Style Guide" by Christoper T. Leland is wonderful with many examples of correct sentence structure correct use of which vs that, was vs were etc.
