on 9/30/15Appears to be feedback manipulation on consumeraffairs.com to me. Notice all of the replies from Instant Checkmate. They had no current or correct info for me other than my childrens names, which I can find easily anyplace.
Sorry, P. G., I don't have an answer for that question. I only know what my personal experience was. I have not gone back to their site since I originally posted my review and I have not followed their ratings or reviews on this site or any other.
To be fair, maybe they saw the negative reviews they were getting and made some changes to their business practices.
I would only caution you to watch out for the pattern that I experienced. If they give you a small amount of information and try to bait you into paying additional money with the promise of more information, then they are probably still up to their old tricks. Buyer beware!
P. G. That's hard to believe that there's
80% above average satisfied customers
With more negative reviews then
Positive I don't believe that that would
Be true, you can get the same info
By googling your own name and it's
Free. Its only my opinion and experience
That tells me otherwise. Answer
False
I can vouch for the same experience as the above people and my experience is only 3 months ago. A lot of totally incorrect info on the people I searched, and glaringly lacking info as well. I ran one on myself to check validity then because of my suspicions of this being practically a scam... same thing. They continued to bill my cc after canceling. My login no longer worked but my cc continued to be charged and they would not refund in spite of zero activity during the time frame after I cancelled. Then I began being marketing emails from them, claiming someone ran a check on me and to login to see who. This was a bait and switch marketing ploy. Once you engage with them, they collect your info and now they have compiled more data for their 'background' check. This is not a valid background check. Go to your local credit bureau for a legit one.
