I love Marties Marketplace! I get really good deals on all shorts of high-end items at this store. Plus, I receive free gifts for ordering over a specific threshold amount. My items are always packaged neatly, wrapped well, and items are often wrapped inside plastic bags for added protection. I love that! Most items are nearly over half the price off, than what they are at other stores. Oh, and I generally receive my orders within two to three buisness days. My question is this- What's not to love about all that?! Another reason that I love ordering from Martie is because I believe in this stores mission. Keeping good food outta landfills is so important! I also like the way that Martie provides the entire list of ingredients for everything on their website. They work so hard to make shopping fun for everyone, and give us that helpful, needed information right at the forefront. I feel blessed and very grateful that I found their store!
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Makes it clear that they just don't care. Four of my chips/crisps arrived crushed after an employee thought it would be a good idea to put two heavy jars of preserves on top. That is unbelievably foolish. Nobody with any bit of sense would do that. Then when I messaged support about the issue, they ignored me until I had to follow up twice. An agent named Maria replied and was very rude and snarky. She also made it clear that she barely even read my messages. She refused to reship the items or provide me with free shipping coupon, so I could repurchase them. I thought those were very fair requests on my part, since this error was clearly Martie's fault due to poor packing. But Maria replied(after I had to follow up again) with a snarky comment about how 1-2 damaged items is normal and not deserving of free shipping coupon. It was 4 items, not 1-2. And no damaged items should be normal due to poor packing. Shows Martie doesn't care about their customers at all. And then Maria had the nerve to tell me I need to just spend $50 to get free shipping to get the $10 worth of items that were damaged. Beyond rude and almost seems like a bait and switch scam to get customers to spend more. And even if I got a free ship coupon, I still would have had to spend an extra $15 to even place an order. So I was being very lenient by not asking for free shipping plus a $15 gift card, since I shouldn't have to pay a penny more than the original price to get the items that Martie damaged. I sent a follow up message telling Maria about how I will not be shopping at Martie and will leave negative feedback, unless she makes effort to make things right. But of course, she ignored me and didn't care. Terrible attitude. I even tried messaging Louise who is the co-founder after she sent out an email asking for input. But she totally ignored me too. It's clear she never wanted input in the first place. Worst company ever. I loved the concept, but the horrible employees ruined it.

I have gotten many things from Martie and been happy with my experiences thus far, until I had a problem with something I bought and needed to contact customer service. The item was defective and only $15, yet they absolutely refuse to part with the $15, even in store credit. Their customer service is TERRIBLE, some of the worst I've seen. Accusatory, demanding, and not understanding at all. If they want to stay afloat, they NEED to understand how to provide good customer service. This isn't it.
Horrible experience. They sent me two wrong items and have totally ignored my emails, despite promising to make things right over email in their policy. I will be reporting to the FTC and doing a chargeback. Pathetic company. Non-existent customer service. The items they scammed me over are less than $10. Stupid way to lose all of my future business and that of my friends that I could have referred.

Very disappointed because they don't treat customers the right way. On the website there was Ferrero Rocher chocolate assortment 7.93 oz., so I purchased 6 boxes together with other products. When I received the order the boxes of Ferrero chocolate were half a size and 4.1 oz. I have reach out to them by email, phone, text and they just ignored me. Very disappointed. I asked them to send me a shipping label to send it back and be refunded, no answer. I will make complaints every day, shame on you to make fake advertisement just to make sales.

I was so excited about this website at the beginning, but after receiving my order and saw they just ignore customers and make fake advertising about products to increase sales, I will never order from them.

I've been a shopper at Martie's for a while and remember when shopping with them has much, much better service. While it's fun to find new staple items every week at a discount, you get what you pay for, the service has gone way, way down hill as they've grown and changed distribution centers. I would say my weekly orders have been getting slower and slower. They miss items. They don't respond to emails and you can't call them either. The owners are snobs. The prices are going UP. Products arrive broken or I'm missing at least two or three items per order. Also, check expiration dates! I'm currently in a situation where I've been emailing them for days for products missing and I can't get an answer. Get it together Marties!

I'm not one to normally write reviews for sites but this place is incredible. They were selling bath bomb sets for $3.99 a piece that normally retail for $28. I bought like 50 of them lol. The deal of the day has something that is just insanely cheap and a great deal at least once every couple weeks and I impulse buy more. I don't know how they do it but I love the brand and think everyone should give em a shot!

I've done two orders using Martie and found it to be a great experience overall. I appreciate that I am helping prevent food waste by ordering surplus food, and the food/drinks available are often name brands (usually more niche or natural/organic) that I'd be interested in anyway. The quality of the food has been very high and it usually arrives fairly quickly.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you watch for the 1 cent items which rotate out! And if you buy more than $50, you get free shipping.

I have placed 9 orders through Martie so far with one order early on missing some products. The last three orders have all come missing items, the last missing almost everything. Also, if you order chips or the like, they squish them as flat as possible it fit them in the shipping box and/or use them as padding. I have received refunds for the past orders but it seems this is now a guaranteed experience for each order. Too stressful to deal with, I will not be ordering from them again.

Snarky emails when what you order is not sent, very poor quality on some items and the 'sell by' dates leave much to be desired, you can usually do better at Wal-Mart or Costco for far better quality items without the hassle. The stuff you buy comes in the cheapest cardboard box imaginable guaranteeing that it will be crushed during handling. The prices SEEM reasonable but they're just average and most of the time you really don't get the complete picture of what you're buying, dented cans for example were NOT part of the description on an item recently purchased. Again, F this company. Hope it goes out of business.

I placed an order and had it shipped to my SO at my same address. The shipper, GLS, claimed the item was delivered. The signature provided was foraged, I'm assuming either by the delivery driver or by someone at the wrong address. Michelle, one of the managers claimed it was a violation to have two email addresses at one residence. So for that reason she deactivated my account and refused to refund me for product that was never delivered. Fine, I won't want to do business with this company again but you are still under obligation to refund customers for items they paid for yet never received. I'll be contacting the BBB.
Update: After notifying Michelle about my intent to contact BBB and file a claim with PayPal she did refund me.

I'm sorry that there seemed to be some miscommunications and a lot of things went sideways. Wanted to give you an update on what we are doing as a business! We are shipping from a new warehouse (with MUCH MORE SPACE to hold thousands of new deals) and are no longer shipping with GLS. We ship via UPS ground (much more reliable, with better tracking) so the issues you encountered won't happen anymore! We still don't allow for referral codes to be shared amongst the same household (but that's a pretty standard way to prevent fraud...the type of fraud that can put a company like ours out of business!).
We'd love to have you come back and visit us again - we are CONSTANTLY getting new deals, and would be cool for you to come see what they are!

We've changed shippers since you last shopped with us! We now ship exclusively through UPS ground, which means...orders arrive, when we say they will. What you experienced was terrible, and we absolutely changed our entire system. You should never have unreliable shipping from any online company. It's unacceptable. And we heard from our shoppers. And we fixed it. Done.
We've also brought on HUNDREDS of new deals since you've visited us. And, we've expanded to *almost* the whole country, so we are getting more and more deals. It's an exciting time to revisit us, if we can sway you back.
