MassageExchange has a rating of 3.4 stars from 90 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with MassageExchange most frequently mention great way. MassageExchange ranks 1st among Massage sites.
I have been a member of the website for approximately five years. During that time I have conversed with and met many individuals regarding massage exchanges. Like all social media sites; one must do your own "due diligence" regarding the person with whom you are corresponding. Effective communication is the key - along with having a DETAILED profile. Members with just a few sentences in their profile are usually not a good contact. My membership has permitted me to make some nice friends with whom we trade on a regular basis. This is so much cheaper than hiring professionals. A lot of "amateur" massage enthusiasts are pretty good at an exchange. TELL the person what you want: "more pressure", "slow down". Give it a try... after a couple of trades, the membership fee pays for itself.
I recommend for non heterosexual men. The entire " therapeutic/sensual" format is a con in itself. Its slowly becoming the replacement to back pages as the gay hookup site. Look at reviews. Nearly all men. Yes there are a few legitimate straight females, but I do not recommend you pay the high price for small pool of contacts. Lastly, the search functions and technical design of the website are very good. Great job from technical standpoint. Easy to navigate. Customer service is another problem. One owner, who has no customer service skills. He had s great idea, kudos to him. But he is so sharp and brazen with responses. He is on to something. If he could divide profiles into two groups, the heterosexual population might jump on board.

As a member of Massage Exchange, I have given and enjoyed some very memorable massages. Without the hassle of wondering who or whom you are connecting with. I highly recommend this site to all. Just fantastic, keep up the good work

I have been a member of this site for over 4 years, and have met many genuinely lovely people from here, who are all interested in the same thing. Meeting up to exchange a relaxing massage.
It's a safe space that allows you to get in touch with like minded people.
Would recommend it. 5 stars
I've been a member for many years and met wonderful people on this site, some have become lasting friends. While there is so much more to us than bodies, the care and nurture of our bodies is super important to overall health--the basis of it as I see it. Massage Exchange helps this healing interaction to happen. Being able to host yields the greatest satisfaction in my experience.
Massage Exchange is a great site to match up with other massage enthusiast. I still go for my regular spa massage treatments with my professional masseuse or masseur when my schedule permits. Yet, over the past twelve years this site has been a valuable experience assisting in facilitating meeting civilized really nice males, females and couples.
I found MassageExchange almost 10 years ago with the hope of finding other massage enthusiasts to help improve my skills and to find a community who desire to learn and grow in the art of massage. In the process, friendships can be formed that transcend country borders.
The review feature allows each party the ability to constructively critique one another's ability and where work can be focused. I've even been able to attend massage clinics teaching hands-on techniques in many different modalities.
I would recommend MassageExchange to anyone who is serious about improving the health and well-being of others. And the wonder it does for yourself as well.
The Massage Exchange has allowed my to enjoy both giving and receiving massages for free since in my area they are rather expensive. As a paid member--a low monthly amount considering the cost of a single massage by a "pro"-- I can communicate with others easily. It would be easier if profiles showed what kind of member one is: black, gold or silver, since black can't communicate easily with others. Some men have more experience than others and those with little training have been willing to learn. Most guys are sincere and nice. It has proven to be rewarding in helping me relieve stress and enjoy working with other like-minded men.
I have met some of the most wonderful people through massageexchange.com
I am constantly in awe of the level of friendliness and expertise exhibited and shared by total strangers. This is truly a community of amazing people who believe in and live the massage lifestyle. Whether you are 40, 50, 60, 70 or 80, consider joining this group -- I believe we have discovered the fountain of youth!
Tip for consumers:
You can start for FREE! Some folks consider this site expensive, but it pays for itself (if you work it) with a handful of FREE massages.

I signed up a few years ago, suspicious I used a different name. I posted in the Portland area, so got several quick responses. Yes, they homosexual community uses it, obvious. But, there are regular people also, and I did manage a few connections, all of them OK to a couple of them excellent. There is nudity, of course, and sensual touch, of course, no different than meeting someone anywhere and becoming friends. It's worth the effort, just be honest about what you are looking for.
I've been a member of MassageExchange for the past 10 years. I haven't always been active but when I have I've met some great people and exchanged many massages. Like any site it takes an effort to make contact and the time to meet. The user interface is intuitive and provides helpful email based notifications. There are a number of users that are not active so you don't always get your emails read or responded to. I have a passion for massage and plan to get my certification later this year. I've learned from several of the members and have established a few long time friendships.
I have met and exchanged massages with well over two dozen people I have met through massageexchange.com, both locally and as I traveled. The site is helpful, respectful and protective of its members. While any site, one needs to be cautious about whom you meet, I have found primarily good, down to earth, genuine people here--very few flakes to deal with. I have tried several other sites designed to help people meet for massage exchanges, etc. and this is the only one that I actually had luck with, met real people, enjoyed myself but felt fairly safe too. I would highly recommend this site for those into meeting others for learning and exchanging massage.
This site is great for those who enjoy massage. I usually average at least one massage exchange a week. I have learned that everyone has their own techniques when giving massages and have learned several that I now incorporate into my own massages. Sometimes you need to be proactive in contacting people and coordinating schedules but patience is usually rewarded. Some are better than others but all have been good. No bad experiences and have met some really nice and interesting people. I have found that it is important to be fairly specific in your profile. Some do use this site as a "hook up" site but be clear with your boundaries and it is not a problem.
Unfortunately, what seems like a great idea falls flat when you factor in the lack of people in your area who have joined on any level of membership. Add to that, the phony profiles that are poorly policed by the site and also what seems to be an overwhelming number of people who cannot host, you wind up with a very low percentage of matches and ultimately few real massage exchanges. I have been on the site for about five years and have met a total of three people. It's not worth it in my opinion. Bear in mind this is not a hook up site. If that's what you really are seeking you need to go elsewhere.
We're not as large as the biggest sites, but we're the largest site in the world for massage enthusiasts. We completely agree that some cities are still poorly represented, but others are great. Members can see who is near them BEFORE they invest in a subscription. So if you;re in an unlucky locale, you will know not to waste your money. Further, we do get the occassional fake account but we have a detection system for discovering these that as highly effective. We have tens of sousands of happy members See them he'e: https://www.massageexchange.com/tips/guarantee.asp
This site is one giant cash grab. With no filtering of messages most women on the site are bombarded with requests from people with no intention of getting a massage. So they turn off messaging and select email only. They also rarely upgrade, according to the website itself. This means you have to purchase the highest tier subscription to have any hope of making contact. As only that level allows replies from free members.
It's not all bad. Search functionality is good. With lots of useful filters. And their are a good number of members on the site overall.
I have been a member for a month and no partners for exchange as most of the ads months old and only one potential partner and she is 70 miles away and not available. Maybe some areas with more interest but not in Lansing, Michigan area
Searching is 100% Free, so members may decide before they buy. All members, including free members, may search our entire member database. All matches near you matching your search criteria will be displayed, along with the member's last active date. Free members may, therefore, make an informed decision about upgrading. If there are few people near you, don't buy a membership! See what over 10,000 of our members think here: https://www.massageexchange.com/reviews/view.asp
Here you get to list who you are, what you're looking for, and connecting. Of course the free members can only connect with gold members, but you can start free and upgrade later. I do wish the site allowed you to see the color of the member before you email them, because if you're anything other than gold, black members can't read it, and if you're silver, you can only communicate with silver and gold. So to save time and effort, I'd like to be able to see the color of the star of the member. Beyond that, the site is amazing. Classified by location you set, you can exchange with people all over the world. Great for traveling and looking for a massage. The experiences have been incredible. Take the adventure... enjoy the journey!
The subscription is very expensive and does not encourage large number of members to join as a paid member. Management is not open to suggestions. I have seen very sound and effective recommendations on the business model offered on their forum but the owner rejects those with no base.
We ceratinly are open to suggestions, however that does not mean we agree with every suggestion we receive. We're happy with our pricing model. Indeed in 2023 when everyione is raising their prices 10-25%, we've lowered ours.
Ken from MassageExchange replied to my review. Several falsehoods in his reply. First off being just outside Philadelphia does not make my location some far away land or in the boonies as he suggested. He said I had not been a member and that is accurate, BUT as I was trying to find reviews of providers in my area, none were coming up. Only individuals thousands of miles away were noted except for a very few out of state. Like I said, when I contact them, they were perplexed on why that was. Makes two of us.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away. May as well use the money to start a bonfire. Better results.
Patiently spoke to this person on the phone for about 20 minutes. His sole concern was that the people *near him*, apparently a remote location, had no reviews. No, we were not baffled; it's quite normal. I pointed to the over 10,000 positive reviews around the world (https://www.massageexchange.com/reviews/view.asp), but he didn't want that, he wanted to see reviews for members in his city. So he decided for some bizarre reason that we were fake. Hardly. The person has never been a participating member of our site - he's never contacted anyone! His review is unfair and unfounded.
I have been there for over a year. Not that easy to find a compatible person. There are many members listed that have not been there in ages. You MUST buy tokens or membership to be able to reply or send messages. Many members cannot host, that eliminates many potential partners. I rarely got replies to emails I sent. At best 5%.
On the bright side its 1000% better than free rub. Free rub is a total waste of time and money
I should mention that we have a generous "Connection Guarantee". See https://www.massageexchange.com/tips/guarantee.asp
I purchased best package for 3months. Nothing anywhere no matter what could I make or take an appointment. I got one response near the end of my subscription that I couldn't read because I needed to repay. Fake stay away
We have a generous "Connection Guarantee". See https://www.massageexchange.com/tips/guarantee.asp
At the beginning it was a wonderful site but then they took away some free items and made it harder and worse to get in touch with people. Now the site is full of people not really wanting to exchange at all.
We're pretty busy always adding new features, usually free. We're not aware of any free items we've taken away. We certainly are always looking for ways to make it easier to connect. We've contacted the author asking them what items they believe we've taken away and to clarify. We're received no reply after 10 days.
I think it would have better reviews if they made their money on advertising and less on the actual users. They are offering a free service, so paying $$$ for a free service to the user doesn't make sense. Even if they wanted to charge just the men on the site, I think people would be more happier with the product. The site is and looks very professional, but I believe people would have a better outcome if they made it free for all and just advertise to make their money. It is a quality site, so I am sure they can make decent money with advertising. I paid for 6 months so wish me luck.
This site is very negative on bad reviews. You can not get them to post it. Claim you are not flowing the rules. They don't want them that all. Why this site will go down eventually. Not all reviews are going to be good so be fair.
We accept reviews of in-person bodywork exchange sessions or "No-Shows" providing there is some proof that such a meeting took place or at least arranged in the case of a No-Show. This prevents fraudulent reviews. Apparently, this person attempted to submit a review without any verification that the parties actually arranged a meeting or met.
Just by reading the massageexchange representatives responses to individuals' reviews makes me skeptical of the site. The responses from the reps seem to be more of a wise-$#*! retort, rather than a professional customer-service oriented, professional reply. Hmmm. A bit worrisome.
MassageExchange.com is a community of bodyworkers, bodywork students, and massage enthusiasts to network, practice, explore new bodywork modalities, and exchange massage and other bodyworks for free. Now with nearly 200,000 members and growing rapidly.
When I first started my massage practice, I'd exchange massages with my fellow classmates frequently. Slowly, however, my massage friends either moved away or left the trade. Sadly, this massage giver was receiving fewer and fewer massages himself.
One day, with a particularly bad back ache, I realized that I had no-one to trade with. Unfortunately, trying to network with others in order to find trading partners proved difficult, time consuming, often even embarrassing, and ultimately unsuccessful.
An idea was born — Why not a massage networking site for those looking for massage exchange partners?
Not a fair or accurate assessment. We have a large member base of both genders, but the gender balance depends on where you are. We believe in honesty and full disclosure; no tricks here: Members can do a search for members near them, based on gender, age range, proximity, etc., without paying, providing our new/free members with a way to determine if there are sufficient and suitable matches near them *before* subscribing. Once again, this determination can be done without paying. So if there's an insufficient number of suitable matches near you, based on whatever your criteria is, don't subscribe!
