Was browsing around for a software for my business. They seem to have an awesome tool. Not using it, but have heard good things from friends.
MindBody operates with defective information, illegal rules and horrendous support. Their customer support is poor and inconsistent. Multiple service employees never have the same answer. I purchased and paid for license and merchant account in 2012 but they do not consider me the owner; they told me my employee who was hired in 2018 was the owner and was the only one who could make requests or changes. This is outrageous and illegal. I am the owner now when I want to cancel the contract as studio is closing. MindBody makes cancellation of the license and merchant account unnecessarily difficult. Their only concern is to squeeze as much money out of the business. They could care less that the studio is closing down. This is an incompetent and greedy company. Stay away from them and find a different platform.

Changes made to the business account are hard to navigate nobody can help you in customer service b/c they dont even understand what you're asking. It's effecting how I run my business as I can't find anything I need to add services or change pricing. Wish they just left the system alone now I'm looking to convert to a new company. HORRIBLE!

I've been with my body since 2008. Always were pretty good recently they decided to take it upon themselves to take the money out of peoples accounts and not use a third-party. All I can say it's below standard and actually pathetic holding money up to 9 to 10 business days, overlapping payments, and creating, a very bad system please be aware if you are using this company now we will be looking for another company and I'm sure others will follow as a small business. We cannot wait up to 10 business days to get money out of peoples accounts. A lot of people are going in a nsf now that I've never gone nsf before,mindbody should've just stayed in the game as what they were doing and not dabbled in this process. If they were not ready, I'm sure other people will be like me and be looking for new software because I know as a small business waiting 9 to 10 business days and payments. Overlapping is just not satisfactory.
So outdated. Customer service is extremely slow. I cant cancel until a year because of their dumb contract but the second I can I'm out. I've just been wasting $130 every month for a year, if you care for your business DO NOT use them. Square is way better and free.

Be careful with the app not updating your credit refunds or your new credit purchases. Cheating you out of 1 or 2 credits over a while adds up!
And the phone number listed on google will send you around In Circles. Non existent customer service except via email which even that is questionable.
They still charged me over $162 per month. Even when I stoped worked with them 3 months ago.
HORRIBLE. They won't refund you! I had to call my bank for fraud and tell them that is a not authorized charge.!
I continue to be flabbergasted at how horrible, user unfriendly and buggy mind body is after having been a user for 15 years now. If given the choice, I'd never use this software. There are so many better ones out there now. It's incredibly slow, so slow that I wonder if they have any kind of quality assurance team. It won't let me log in as an instructor because it claims I'm logged in on the browser at another studio, except for when I go to that studios MBO page, I'm logged out. So I literally can't update my schedule at one studio because it just won't let me login. I'm honestly amazed that with how incredibly poor their product is, that they're still even in business. Did I mention it's ridiculously expensive?
As a long time Mindbody user for my small business, we decided they were too pricey for our small business and decided to move on. This was also after the customer service went from 5 star to no stars! Hours on the phone to fix a problem with integration resulted in being told it was a glitch in the system and couldn't be fixed. We cancelled giving 30 days notice only to be told we had a contract that was up in April. We never signed any contract and they are refusing to let us out of said contract. They also cannot provide us with " The Contract" we supposedly have. We cannot remove our credit card from the system so essentially they are holding our business hostage. Please look elsewhere when searching for a software system for your business.
This was by far the most surreal CS experience I've ever had.
The setup and support is so non existent it's mind boggling. You end up teaching the rep what you know. Never once did I get an problem resolved, and almost everything promised by the saleswoman didn't happen.
It was an endless nightmare for 3 months. Thankfully due to performance clauses in my agreement I was able to cancel the expensive--$700/month--contract and return to Schedulicity ($70/month) and Square.
I have used mind body as a business owner for many years. They have increased their prices and have reduced quality tremendously. We have had so many issues with clients not being able to sign up, no one in the customer service not responding to my emails, and just nor providing the services I am paying for. Students still can't find us on their app. This is a very poorly run business and it seems to not care based on zero follow up. I am looking for a better studio management program
I have just signed up for a class with a company using Mind Body. It was without doubt the worst on line customer experience I have ever experienced. 4 emails and a phone call were required to successfully register and book a class. Don't just focus on how it is for you. Remember most customers won't persevere through this sort of experience - I really wanted this class but would have gone elsewhere if it had been available any other route.
Our gym uses Mindbody to schedule classes/let clients register for classes. I've been using the software for over a year and have never had a positive experience with customer service. I'm usually put on hold for 45+ minutes and then told they simply cannot fix the problem. Recently all of our clients were unable to login to their accounts or book classes due to a bug and we lost a lot of business, and Mindbody was unable to identify or fix the problem. Words cannot describe how frustrating is it to work with their customer service. Save your time, money, and sanity, do not use Mindbody.

Don't bother using Mindbody
Terrible customer service, constant malfunctions across every part of the program, causing small businesses constant lapses in sales. When you call for technical support one out of every five times you will end up teaching the support representative how to do their job, rather than receive help yourself. They never compensate for their lack of functioning service. Truly awful to work with a company such as this during such an awful year for small business in general.
After 2 phone calls I agreed to sign up for a trial 3 months.
I run my own business, and I teach in 8 different venues in London and Kent, so I am not working from one location.
I had reservations about this when considering joining up, but was assured that it would be okay. By the second phone call, and having again been assured that MindBody would work for me, in spite of teaching in various locations, I agreed to try it out.
This was misinformation. It does NOT work for me, and they cannot accommodate more that one location without charging extra for the other locations.
I wasted a lot of time and effort on this, and at the end of the day feel slightly swindled.
They were mildly apologetic, with a great number of Americanisms thrown in about 'sharing' my experience with their employees, etc.
They refused to downgrade our account or offer a refund after 5 months of pleading with our account manager and customer service reps. Only when denying my refund request did they give me the information I needed. They denied my request because of 1 email we didn't respond to, in spite of the 12 phone calls and countless hours trying to save money to save our studio. That was how we were treated to stay a client. Absolutely the worst.
I have been a customer of Mindbody since 2019. It has been a $#*!show with then ever since. They lie about what they actually offer. The increased expenses for modules that should be free for the price they charge are a total scam. The customer service sends you articles you can google yourself. The have literally hung up on me and told me to just go use another company. Its a total scam.

I have never been so disappointed by a product and now I'm trapped in a year-long contract. User interface is atrocious, customer service is mostly non-existent, and everything is completely disorganized.
This has a lot of bells and whistles. Fancy for sure; would be great for a club. However, if you are truly a small business think long and hard before committing to mindbody. The price for taking recurring gym memberships QUADRUPLED in the four years I used them. When I decided it was not sustainable, it cost me hundreds of dollars to get the stored credit card info out of their server. When I got it it was only half of the information. When I called to ask about the missing people, and about the data itself I was told that when I agree to have that set of reports run I also agree to cut all ties with mindbody including access to their support. So think long and hard because while it is pretty and fancy and does lots of cool stuff, it's pretty ugly on the other side.
MINDBODY will auto renew your contract every 12 months without consent. The cancelation process is a nightmare. Horrible product and even worse customer service. If you are in health and wellness look at any other option.
When you first sign up you get immaculate support, but as the months roll on the support gets less and less. I've been extremely frustrated by the lack of quality support for the platform. Mindbody seems to have gotten so big that the support element has dropped away. Sometimes the people on the other end of the line seem like they know less than me about the system. Disappointed.
My local yoga studio started using MindBody app exclusively for booking classes (no cash/card at the door). The app is way too much work. I literally need to factor in an additional 15 minutes before class just to sign in, which is antithetical to the relaxation I hope to achieve by doing yoga in the first place.
The app always forgets my login. So I have to login over and over. The search feature doesn't work well, I always cannot find the ONLY studio I ever go to, until I remember you have to actually select 'Businesses' in the search field. The app promotes a dozen other studios that are geographically closer to me, so it's kinda stealing business from the studio at which I am already going to.
There is ultimately just way, way, way too much clicking, searching, scrolling, entering the same info over and over just to book a yoga class.
I will never go to a yoga studio (or other gym) that forces attendees to use this app.
Tip for consumers:
I plead to gyms/studios not to use this app, and if you do, don't make it your only option. It's disrespectful to YOUR customers' time to expect them to mess around for 15-20 minutes just to book a class with you. Look after your customers please and remember exercise is a mental relaxation as much as a physical thing, so fiddling with an app is frustrating and cancels out the good mental benefits of exercising in the first place.

I tried to use it to book a yoga class multiple times over a period of 2 years where my local studio tried to get me to use it. I hated it so much because it logged me out all the time and was so much effort just to do something exceedingly simple.
The studio tried to say something like "if you book, you won't miss out on class", but I had been going to yoga at the same studio for almost 10 years and literally about 2 times in 10 years had classes actually been fully booked, so the only value the app offers is literally not solving a real problem.
Despite being a loyal member for 2 years Mindbody offered no flexibility during COVID - 1 month free, nothing more. They charge a significant amount for very limited and buggy software, claiming that it costs them $50/month just to store your data. Better systems exist for a better price.
Additionally, my Account Manager Austin would harass my phone whenever they had a deal or needed something from me but did not respond to a single request for help. I run a few classes and manage my private clients on Mindbody and chose the software to appear professional. When you consider the number of fees charged its absolutely not worth it. If you're a small business/studio/personal trainer don't use Mindbody, it will eat up all of your margins and isn't built for smaller clients.
We had to put our site on freeze for a couple of months during Covid19 and after asking the reinstate the site they wanted to charge us a higher premium. I was fighting for 11 days and tomorrow is the first day we could open our gym but we can't as they hold us hostage. We could not call clients to take bookings nor schedule any classes. The whole platform is clumsy anyway but if you want to leave all together they make you pay a leaving fee of $500.
I am so pissed off. I would never write a bad review but this really got to me and people should know about it.
If it would be my business, I would fall over myself to do the right thing for my customers but they literally stabbed us.
Find a better solution for your business.
