Some fine variety of music can be had from Oldies.com especially when catalog from the Bear Family Records group from Germany is added in to the music pot!
DVD didn't arrive in stated time. First call I was told it was in stock and they didn't know why it had not shipped. A supervisor would be told and I would get an email about shipment— never happened.Second call told they had been busy and it would be sent. I just wanted by then to cancel the order to which I was told could not be done. Rude, nasty people.DVD finally arrived and will not play. All I get is disc error. It is not my player because all my others play just fine I have ordered from this company before and not had a problem, but this time has been awful. I will not use them again. Not worth the hassle. They must have hired new employees that don't care about customer service. I'll stick with Amazon!

What I mean by this is that you have to be very selective because most films there are going to be either public domain or very obscure, however, they do provide golden age classics but you have to look deep. Which it's not a big deal for me, just ordered two DVDs one from their tTroma selection and a b movie from Conrad Brooks all the way to Mexico and sure enough they arrived safe and all. Great if you love b movies and collection items. Will order from them again. Shipping it's a little pricey (at least it was for me) so be aware that most titles are Public domain so if you're going to purchase go for the rare titles.
Tip for consumers:
Most titles are Public domain

Placed an order they took money but refusing to honor the purchase or refund my money. Per customer service orders are not cancelable or refundable that we have your money and there is nothing you can do.

After avoiding OLDIES for over a year because of poor service - I had a great experience with my last order. Order went in on-line without any issues - payment went through - and order was received within 7 business days!
In the past - service was painfully slow. It took over 30 days to receive order.
I am happy to report that they are back in good graces. If it has been a while since you last worked with them - give them another try. Cheers!

CD Sets
I purchased what I thought was a fairly comprehensive package that contained Close To The Edge from YES. It was listed as the CD & Blu-Ray combo that contained a blu-ray disc with multiple version of the classic album including high resolution audio, a highly regarded 5.1 surround mix, needle drop recording, instrumental album and various rare performances. They charged me over $116 for this but send me a stand redbook CD. This are widely available and sell for $4.99 at Target. Classic case of bait and switch.
Resist the urge to purchase rare items through this company. The price is right, they offer free shipping, give you a projected arrival time, and then... call customer service and get hung up on, discover that "in stock" does not mean currently available. I ordered an item on Sep 5, on Sep 14, told it will probably be another week. Cancelled the order.
Ordered a CD because it was massively cheaper than Amazon. Paid by PayPal. Since then 8 days and no dispatch note, no acknowledgement, nada. Sent them an email asking politely what's up. Normally you expect an automated answer saying they got the message. Nope. I'm seriously beginning to think this will be a bad experience...
The main job of Oldies.com customer service staff is to stall you until your order finally arrives which takes longer than ordering from mainland communist China in the 1970's. Your stuff, (if they even have it in stock) is actually located in Sweden, not Pennsylvania which you won't realize until your tracking number gets scanned by a guy riding a busted down Volvo towed by a reindeer with an inner ear infection. Seriously, these guys are only in business because of the sheer size of their operation, not for their treatment of what should be valued customers. I thought I was alone until I read the dozens of horror stories submitted by irate people who just want to buy online like 1000's of other merchants. Oldies.com gives online ordering a bad name and treat you like you are about to be made into a lampshade.
Ordered a Mother's Day gift, they held it up, they have a copy of an email addressed accurately to me that I don't have in my mailbox saying there was a problem, they never initiated another follow-up till the cancellation of the order weeks later. I called, agree customer service was patronizing, unapologetic and unhelpful. I asked the order be sent. Just received another cancellation notice 2 weeks after the call with no explanation. How does this place stay in business? It's like they don't want to sell product.
Oldies has great variety
However, they play games with free shipping. Certain items are not included and they charge $3 per item. These items are then shipped economy with free shipping items. It takes WEEKS to get an item that an Ebay or Amazon seller would ship right away. I ordered on December 12 and order is still being processed. Again, they had the nerve to charge for one item but are not shipping it separately despite charge. Unless it's a rare item I will not order from the site anymore.
I've been shopping at Oldies.com for many years. They keep in constant contact with sale notifications and the website is filled with an enormous inventory where you can find almost anything you are looking for. They are also dependable when it comes to shipping and packaging. I recommend Oldies.com.
Upon listening to my recent purchases of fifties and sixties music on the "Collectables" label; I was struck by the incredible sound quality of each recording. The selections of songs are top-notch with a mix that is pleasant to listen to. But it is the sound - clear and full - that will bring me back to order additional CD's without the worry that these are inferior because of their age.
Tip for consumers:
Easy and fast.

Been a buyer for years. Get a lot of contact about available music. Also get periodic catalogs with even greater selection. Only complaint I have ever had is the slowness to fill orders which preceded the pandemic. Otherwise, customer service is excellent.
I have been a customer of Oldies.com for several years. I find great deals on CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs for
Both popular and rare titles. Customer service has never been less that stellar in my experience. Highly recommended for collectors.
I am always ordering oldies music on CD for my eldest brother who is disabled, in a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy; his insatiable desire for music and new CDs is the light of his life and keeps him going. Oldies.com has never let us down, has a great selection, great service and fast shipping!
We love the movies that we bought from Oldies.com. I have bought from them before and was very pleased with the dvd's then too. I review each email I get from them to see if any new old movies are available. Would recommend.

I just bought a brand new turntable and am in the market to buy new albums to add to my existing collection that I have nurtured for close to 50 years. When my albums arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that the classic and collectable albums were exactly as advertised brand new, sealed in original album covers. They played beautifully and were brand new, not a scratch on any of them! I will be buying many more vinyl albums from this company and am extremely excited that I have discovered an excellent source to add to my existing collection. I highly recommend this company for all of my music wants and needs for the future! This is my first experience buying new record albums since the 1980's!
I've found Oldies.com to be a great resource for amazing rarities. I actually came here looking for a film by Josh Kennedy, a director who creates very cool homages to old B-movies, and I found a treasure trove of retro goodness. These guys don't just offer great entertainment, but also wonderful service that compares to Amazon. I'll be back.
I placed four or five online orders with Oldies.com over the past year, but I won't do it ever again. My last order was screwed up, with an extra copy of one item I had requested, and missing another item I had wanted. When I called customer service to straighten out the problem, I was on hold for a while, and then the guy I finally did get to talk to had to keep putting me on hold and asking me the same questions over and over again in order to try to understand what was wrong with the order. Eventually, he assured me that the item missing from the order would be replaced. That was weeks ago, and guess what? The lost item has never been replaced, and now they've lost a customer, too.
Even though I see so many have had problems with this site, I on the other hand, have had nothing but good experiences with them for the past three years. They have a great obscure selection of dvds. Although, through the years, I must say that prices have risen and gone are the days of free shipping. I don't want a free dvd of something I don't want to watch, I want free shipping back because to drop well over a hundred dollars at a time each time I order should merit free shipping! I will continue to order from them because there are just too many dvds they get in that I want really bad and are hard to find. I have never had a botched order, so they're okay in my book.
Ordered what was supposed to be new vinyl 45s but one of the 45s was scratched and wouldn't play properly. The only way it can be resolved is calling their customer service and sitting on hold forever. Shipping the product back would cost more than the product is worth.
Tip for consumers:
Their quality is usually good but this experience has turned me off.

Generally Oldies are a good supplier and the service is great, and usually the prices are fair, where they fall down is that they will not take responsibility for the quality of the DVDs they sell. They maintain that they don't make them only sell them, but if you get a poor visual DVD then then you should have the right to return it for another title or a refund. It is up to OLDIES to make sure that are selling top quality goods and if they are not up to spec' then it should be noted in the sales description so that the customer is aware that it may be a poor quality copy. It is because of this fact that I am very selective now with what I purchase as I have been caught a couple of times. Obviously if the disc wont play at all or has any other fault they will replace it.
Ordering was easy, as was checkout and payment. Product arrived in excellent condition. My only complaint is that shipping seems a bit slow. Other than that, I highly recommend oldies.com.
I hate having to write such a brutal review, because I truly want to love Oldies.com-- but there are just too many serious problems with this website and with the operation of the business overall. I am a serious music and movie lover-- and at first glance, this business seems virtually tailored to people like me. There is a huge selection (in theory, that is!) of great items on the website. However, and this is crucial to know, for people preparing to order here-- the stock shown on the website is, in my experience, often extremely unreliable. Just because a particular item is shown as being in stock when you place your order, that is NO guarantee, at all, that you will actually GET that item.
Also, the processing and shipping time for orders is much slower than what I have encountered from most other websites. Right now, an order that I placed, over four days ago, is still in processing, and no one in customer service is able to tell me when it may or may not ship, or if I will even actually get all of the items in the order! When I placed the order, via Paypal (meaning, the money for the entire order went out of my account upfront, as soon as I placed it), one of the CDs was shown on the website as still having 4 in stock. Now, apparently, there are none in stock-- and my order is still processing, and no one at Oldies.com can tell me whether or not my order will actually contain this CD when it finally ships and arrives at my apartment! Seriously, consider that: I paid for this order, upfront, and I literally don't even know what I will, or will not, get until I open the package, whenever it finally arrives! This is simply not acceptable for an online business in 2018.
Last but not least, other Oldies.com customers, apparently, have had good packing for their orders, but that has almost never been the case for me. Since 2015, I have placed many orders here-- each time, giving the site yet "one more try!"-- and too often, the packages have arrived packed carelessly with one or more damaged CDs. If Oldies.com does not improve, in many ways, and quickly, I will, very soon, be a former customer.
