QuiBids has a rating of 2.8 stars from 3,066 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about QuiBids most frequently mention gift card, retail price, and business model problems. QuiBids ranks 2nd among Penny Auction sites.
I urge people fully read anything that ask you to enter your credit card number. I have not regretted spending on dime on Quibids I have gotten ten fold back. If I had any problems, their Customer Service was quick to solve it! You cannot jump into an Auction and win a big ticket item. All good things require patience and learning. If you do not take time to read Quibids 101 you fail. Read all their blogs. They teach you how to succeed!
There are three phrases uttered by customer service reps that instantly make me ill: 1. "I apologize for the inconvenience, but...", 2. "I'm sorry you had a negative experience..." and 3. "Not at this time"/"At this time we have no plans to..." Well, after reading the BS responses to the reviews by D-bag Erik, I'm adding a fourth: "I am sorry to hear that is your impression of us..." What a $#*!.

Tip for consumers:
Go to Quibids Facebook page and read all you can ;) there is fantastic tips there from other bidders just like you! Below is just one of my wins!
It never occurred to me, because I didn't do my own due diligence by reading over EVERYTHING! Lol! Did not expect to come out of pocket with $60.00 right off the bat! Behind Christmas too, not good for me. But I'd be happy to try again at a later date once I've read through everything thoroughly! But the customer service was quick and efficient in refunding me, so no harm no foul.
Thanks,
Boy Erik G. You sure have a difficult job! Sounds like many people simply do not understand the auction process. Penny auctions are a different thing also. Good to realize by what means QuiBids makes it's profits though! Wish you well and I thought the website information was fairly clear.
Tip for consumers:
Learn and understand auctioning and always be careful with where you put your money! It is a tool only to help us live.
Not only is their procedure in bidding for products an exciting new way to receive exceptional savings but their 'customer support' can also be rated as excellent. They were very prompt is assisting me with my questions & resolving the issue I was experiencing.
Bidding and being charged the $60 is confusing and should be stated very plainly for customers to see. I have read other complaints about this. However, customer service response was amazing and refunds no problem.
Had problems getting my QuiBids account re-activated. Response and resolution to problem was extremely fast. Very surprised considering most experiences with companies these days, both online and offline.
This review its for my first communication with quibids
I'm very happy they respond at the same day.
I hope they'll keep responding until and provide me with more info of how I can start working with them.
I see in their company a good opportunity to move forward
The people behind this site are laughing all the way to the bank. It's legalized theft. They must not have been able to sleep for a week from excitement after coming up with this idea. It's only a matter of time before they're shutdown. This can't go on. But hey, if you don't mind lining someone else's pockets with gold while emptying your own, go buy some bids.
Here's something... just watch the main page for a few hours. I can do this since i work on the phone from home. What you will find is that their "active" auctions never really finish... in fact, it cycles through them. Watch long enough and you will see a pattern. Also, classic shill bidding tactics in effect here. Steer clear. You get better deals on Ebay/Craigslist etc.
You are basically gambling. What really peeved me was the 'quibids 101' tab. To think there is actually strategies on winning the auctions is ridiculous. It's completely random who's bid wins in that completely rigged last 10 seconds. I now have 10 bids left, and i just want to get rid of them. I haven't won a thing except more bids. Congrats to those who did win something - you're lucky.

Tip for consumers:
Don't. Just don't.
Kreg, we try to be courteous and professional with all communications. Though many people this day and age have thrown out common courtesy and class, we want to express our responses in a kind, thought out and articulate way. Sorry if that offends anyone!
Offers bid packages with cash back (for product purchases), free daily credits, additional credits at login- all just a scam. No products delivered. Delay excuses include logistics, technical difficulties, promises to rectify the situation- all to no avail.
Company accepted payments, bids, suspended my account, continued to use bids placed despite lockout, ignored all messages, written communication. Attempts to use cash back showed merchant account not enabled. Attempts login showed login failure. No response from company.
Apparently, the people who designed this site have master manipulators to frustrate Consumer Watchdog (Citizens Advice), legal entities and have registered at Companies House in Gibraltar with different information posted on the Auction Site.
Beware!
Does anyone know if the legal rule of having 2 business days to cancel (or whatever it is) applies to signing up with Quibids? I registered today hoping to bid on headphones. Once I gave my payment info (thinking it w/b used for payments and ship costs) I was instantly sent a message thanking me for purchasing $60 worth of bids! There's no way I would have bid that many times!
I contacted them thru their email system and was told that was the only way a new member can join! What's up with that? I see they have a 'newcomer' rate of $27 - but I was never even given a choice!
I haven't even participated in this site but am out 60 bucks! Can I join the class action suit?
This site is a scam. Went through several auctions over an 8-hour period. The only thing I won was the free 25 bids for beginners. Interestingly enough, there were about 15 auctions that I was the only person who bid until the counter hit 1 and then each time 9-15 people (same names, but different auctions) joined in and only bid against my bids. If I didn't bid, the auction ended. Even for ridiculously stupid items, which I found quite interesting... Additionally, there are several names that bid non stop on numerous items. When you consider how many times these names bid at. 60 cents a bit you would have been spending hundreds upon hundreds of dollars. This site should be shut down.
This site is more or less gambling on products. You have better odds a Vegas. The problem is that the auction never ends and anyone can jump in at anytime, which extends and increases the price. The only winner is QuiBids, since they're taking in all the money. Users are basically subsidizing the products at 400+% the actual price. And, I believe, they make you pay for shipping. A fairer system would be to have a closeout, wherein the top two or three bidders remain either until they run out of bids or the final closing time. The closeout would kick-in at a price point where QuiBids breaks even or makes a 5-10% profit. That would be a fair system, one where more people could feel good about bidding and winning. I would stay away from this site and find sites like GroupOn where everyone wins when they buy in bulk.
I bought the smallest 45 bid pack. After about an hour and placing 9 bids, I requested a refund of my unused bids. Customer service said it would require 1-2 days for a partial refund to my credit card. We shall see.
I agree with previous reviews labelling this site as a gambling website. Winning one of these auctions is largely a matter of chance. "Winning" can be very costly, both in terms of your money and your time. Definitely not for me.
12/9/15--Blake, 1) I set up a profile but did not knowingly authorize the charge; I want to make this perfectly CLEAR! 2) Difficult for me to understand that more bids are free rather than paid so, Blake, please tell us the actual numbers and I will revise my estimates. Are any of these "free bids" made by the company?
9/20/15-Update: Thought I would do the math for you. For every dollar the price increases QuiBids receives ~$37! This suggests there are going to be a number of losers for every winner; this must be a form of gambling with rather bad odds.
Original: Just signed up after attempting to read lots of legal text. After completing the sign up I was charged $60 for 100 bids that I did not authorize and very much did not want. There is no way I would ever authorize the purchase of 100 bids while planning to just try it out.
Tip for consumers:
In response to QuiBids the calculated money taken in will be $61 per dollar bid ($0.60/bid*100 bids per dollar=$60 + dollar collected for price...),
Note that QuiBids says they don't collect 60 cents for each bid so make an adjustment ($37) and the collected dollars still appear rather high. This leaves a lot of losers.
***Another point is that the ratings have a statistical bimodal distribution (1*vs,5*) which I can't explain; The mean is centered at 3.0. Maybe SiteJabber could look into thi
Hi Ron. It sounds like you completed your payment info to purchase the starter bid package (100 bids at $0.60 per bid for $60). We are happy to refund the unused bids in your account. Simply contact us at support@quibids.com and we'll get this started for you.
Also, you claimed that every dollar the price increases we get $37. This isn't correct info, because that's assuming that all bids placed are real bids, and a majority of the bids placed are voucher bids (free bids won in contests, voucher auctions, etc that have no value). Hope that helps clear up the misunderstanding. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our support and we'll be happy to explain further. Thanks, and have a wonderful day!
I agree with the reviewer who said that quibids is gambling... the house always wins... casinos are more generous. I have read a lot about these types of Websites with recommendations such as "bid at times when less people are online, start bidding later in the auction when the price is nearing the sweet spot then strike to avoid wasting bids, it may take several hours to win an auction so be patient, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." If you're like me, you buy quality products at fair prices from companies who have earned your business... don't be a puppet on a string... you have a life and you're smarter than that. E-bay is truly what bidding online is all about.
DO NOT fall for this! This is the biggest scam around. I requested a refund within an hr of signing up. They never replied but 3 years later they send me an email the my points are about to expired. I emailed and complaint again & they were quick to respond until they didn't like what I had to say. My bad I should have researched before buying. Please take these reviews seriously it could save you $60 and lots of aggravation.
I am sorry to hear this has been your impression of QuiBids. We try to provide multiple different forms of communication to reach us such as email, phones, and even live chat. If you purchased bids and did not wish to, we have 100% guarantee refund of any unused purchased bids for up to a year. We try to provide as much information upfront to inform potential customers that QuiBids is a pay-to-participate site. Below I have provided our phone number and email if you have any further questions or concerns:

"A fool and his money are soon parted". Let's think logically. Say you found an ipad laying on the streets, how much would you sell it for? Probably $300 plus. What then gives you the idea that any one would sell it for $0.08? These bids add so fast it's not even funny. Stick to what you've known all along. If it's too good to be true, well, it ain't true. I don't suppose you're a fool because you took the time to read quibids reviews before investing your hard earned $$$. And if you invested before reading, well, now you have a story for you kids!
quibids.com is a scam, like many people I sign up and joined to find out it was all an auction scam. I ended up winning 2 pretty cool items for really cheat $$ and they cancelled my membership and they didn't even refund my bid money that I place which cost me $80 plus dollars. I reported this website to my state attorney generals office. People please be aware you are getting involved in a SCAM, learn from my mistake. Don't spend your hard earned money.
After reading a number of other comments, I realized that many first-time patrons of QuiBids experience the exact same set-up: buy the beginning package of bids, start in the beginners bid area, "win" (easily) a package of additional 25 or so bids (at an additional cost of $2.00 for handling), and then maybe, quite by chance, "win" a simple low-ticket item.
After that, it's pure gambling and the average players chances of "winning" anything drop proportionally by the amount of time and money one has to waste.
I would advise anyone who asks me about this site to steer clear and save your cash for a year-end clearance sale at a reputable retailer.
At first I thought it would work. I spent 7 bids ($3.60) +. 30 auction price + $1.99 shipping, a total of $5.98 for a $25 gift card. But, my next auction, I gave up and ended up purchasing $50 Card for $25. But, when all was said and done, I really spent about $85 on $75 worth of cards. This site is, I've concluded, a scam, and a pretty good one. I'm sure they use bot to up the bids at the last second and much tons of money selling "bids." Stick with e-Bay unless you are an expert gambler.
It's not a scam. But, good Lord, is it BORING! I'm not at all convinced it's a good deal, though. Yes, you can get things for pennies on the dollar but nobody ever tells you how much they've spend in buying bids. In order to succeed at winning bids you must: A. Keep sharp a object close by so you can stab yourself once in a while so you don't fall asleep. B. Decide your time isn't worth more than a few bucks an hour and C. Have no life. According to their website, they'll refund unused bids. I just requested a refund for half of the bids I bought.
QuiBids is a penny auction site.
That is right, Yvonne! We encourage all new users to look around the website and read as much information as possible to help with their future participation. I have also provided a link below to our QuiBids 101 video!
