The young lady at Sixt was Shayna C. She made me feel at easy after having a very scary commute. It was my first time traveling by myself. I had a family member to pass in Los Angeles so after i arrived at the airport the shuttle bus picked me up and this is when I meet Shayna. She was so friendly as well as professional. She reassured me that even if was a little late, I would be taken care off, I would not be left without transportation in this big city. As reassuring as she was I felt I could relax and I did. Within a few minutes she had done just what she promised. It was the start of a horrible trip to turn into a trip I was remember as well as make sure I use Sixt's rental car service from now on...Thank You Shayna C.
These guys are jerks! I brought a transponder from home to use for tolls during my car rental. Unbeknownst to me, the transponder had expired and was no longer working. I did not discover that until I got home. I tried to alert Sixt to the problem in advance, but they made me wait until it got into their system. Then they tried to charge me almost $30 for their "administrative fee" in paying my tolls without a working transponder. That was almost twice as much as the tolls themselves! I tried to dispute their administrative fee with my credit card company, but Sixt sent my credit card company some contract "boilerplate" that we all sign without reading, purporting to show that I had agreed to their exorbitant administrative fee. The credit card company denied my dispute. I will never rent from Sixt again, and suggest you don't either.

I rented from SIXT in June. I paid $471 for one week. A week after the car was returned they sent a bill for $723. I went to the company who said there was a monitor with all charges on the screen in front of me. That was not true. There was no monitor anywhere. I contacted my CC company to dispute and the BBB. I also discovered SIXT is being investigated for a class action lawsuit. Don't bother with SIXT. You'll spend the higher prices anyway. You might as well pay the higher prices upfront and deal with a more reputable company.

I booked with Sixt at about 1:00am on the night of the crowdstrike failure with a plan to pick up the car about 10 hours later. All air travel stopped the following morning so there was no way to fly to Colorado and pick up the car. They never provided the car and for all I know might have been hit by the crowdstrike problem and unable to complete the rental. I tried to cancel a few hours after the reservation was made (and they charged us the full cancellation fee and refused to reconsider). Let's hope these guys go out of business so we don't need to deal with this disrespectful customer service. Given that 2000 flights were cancelled these guys made a ton of money on cancellation fees nobody had any control over. You can bet that if they were unable to deliver the car due to the network failure they would take no responsibility.
Don't rent from Sixt,
Shut your doors! Go out of business! Never go here...EVER! These people are criminals and should be shut down!

I attempted to return a vehicle at 4 AM because my flight was at 7 AM. The place was closed and did not open till 7 AM. I called customer service and was instructed to leave the vehicle at short term parking as to not miss my flight. 3 and a half months later with no call or emails of any kind I get a charge on my card for $4600! I am being accused of abandoning the vehicle. I have called and shown proof of my flight and rental agreement and all I got was the run around. DONT EVER RENT HERE! THIS PLACE IS THE WORST OF THE WORST!
The very very worst rental car company in the world… I flew into LAX last year … they would not pick us up at the airport … they said our reservation was for downtown LA, not the airport and told us to take a cab … we tried to cancel our rental … but Sixt customer service was rude and nasty … we got another car from Enterprise instead … much better … Sixt then stuck it to us and refuse to refund our money
Moral of story… don't get Stung by Sixt
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Sixt rental car company

I used nothing …Sixt rental car company stung us
It really is not worth the hassle to deal with these people.
Even if you pay a little more just sue someone else. I am not saying other companies will be perfect, however you are likely to have less headaches and waste less time. Basically, in my case, they would not accept my parking ticket was cancelled and they still want to take an admin fee despite having clear proof.
I now see from reading the reviews that many other people how experienced the same scam as we have with Sixt Car Rental. We rented a car in Portugal. The car was in terrible shape at pick up (many dents, a lot of mileage, cracked windshield) but we were tired and just wanted to get going, so we didn't complain. We drove it for a fairly short distance and it had a blow out flat tire. The incident cost us a full day of our holiday. They eventually sent a tow truck and a taxi to take us to get a new car. Then when we got home, we received a HUGE bill for damages. This is a an absolute SCAM! DO NOT ever rent from these people!
Terrible experience in Houston. They rented myself and another person a car at closing. Were rude to say the least. Then we both went to put luggage in cars and the lot attendant had left early and we had no way to get out of the garage. We were stuck! 90 minutes on hold with the pathetic customer service got us nothing but a waste of time. Had to rent from another company, Avis. Left car in lot dropped keys in drop box. Next day got bill for a 1 day rental! Absolute nightmare! Stay away from this place at all costs.
They charge you for damages of parts which were already damaged … 3 months after the rental date! With an exceptional high amount. They are not friendly and agressive! I would everybody recommend to never rent a car with them! Such a company is a danger!
Tip for consumers:
i really want to warn you all for this company
such a bad experience
they charge you crazy amounts for a fake or minimal scratch

car rental !!! they scam you and threaten you with high costs 3 months after the rental period
Got to the counter at CVG. With a reservation. They got my credit card, all well, till they detected that I am Mexican. The clerk goes inside the office, a manager comes out and he tells me that they can't rent me the car. Because my license is no good. They had not even looked at it. I had to go to Alamo and rent a big SUV that i did not need. It took me 10 mins to do so. Shame on you Sixt!
HORRIBLE company. The whole business model of this company seems to be engineered around deception. When I returned the car, I wanted to see an invoice. Nope, that comes days later via email after my credit card has been billed. That way there is no face-to-face confrontations. Extra driver's fee $15/day. Never told about it at rental desk. But the kicker came 2 weeks later with a charge of $111 showed up on my credit card statement. Toll fees $21.31 Administration Fee Toll $5.00 x18=$90.00. Outrageous! I received no invoice and had to call to get one. I found no contact information anywhere on either invoice or on there website. Had to get it from my credit card statement. When I called the toll fee department, I never got through. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!
This firm are a bunch of criminals! I returned the car more than a whole day early, when handing the keys back to a SIXT employee I asked if they would check over the car and was told NO. Two days later I received an email from that stating "there is a scratch to the bonnet 10cm long and that I should fill out a 'Go to webform' to help you 'quickly resolve matters and improve our service' " at 08.20am. I did this at 10.23am and within 6 hours I got billed £850.03. They completely dismissed my response and all it done was to help them "quickly" is to bill me! The repair bill came from a company 220 miles from where the car is located in Southampton. They report that they will be taking the money out of my bank account within 7 days to cover the cost of a scratch that was NOT on the car when I returned it! The photos they sent of the car showed the car parked in a different location to where I had parked it, so clearly they have used the car during the 48 hour period between drop-off to the point of their accusation! I have responded to SIXT accusations with the above facts but they are simply not interested in the client or their view. They claim they have you banged to rights, they point you in the direction of the small print! The money they are claiming is more than I get for my pension in a whole month. I am an elderly gentleman and clearly being taken advantage of, this is disgraceful! At 71 years old I could really do without this truly stressful experience. I will not be using SIXT again and recommend anyone that if they are able to use someone else then please do so.
Worst experience ever - they gave me the wrong car and it was extensively damaged before I took it. Big mistake with these guys, they will try to ding you for damages on a car that is already extensively damaged. Plus, the car did not have the correct emissions stickers required in many areas of Europe.
Then, they try to charge your credit card for all these things without obtaining prior approval.
Steer clear of them. I have rented from all the other firms and never had such issues ever. I could go on about their terrible customer service but I won't.
If you rent from these guys, make sure you take extensive pics of all panels and underneath the front bumper and the interior too. Even then, don't be surprised...
Never again for me!
Tip for consumers:
If you rent a car, take extensive pics of all body panels including under the bumpers and the insides of car. They might still try to charge you for damages but you might have some recourse. Again, I don't recommend using them as you take a chance regardless of the pics you have.

Sad to see a lot of similar reviews online, must be almost impossible to not get ripped off by this company. If you're forced to hire a vehicle from Sixt, ignore any of their claims that your existing insurance won't cover the vehicle - this is completely untrue and a scam. Hired a SixT car on Corsica and unfortunately was led on on by their dishonesty, don't expect any help or correspondence despite how many attempts you make - once the vehicle is returned they won't even bother communicating. Avoid at all costs
I rented two cars from Sixt through Expedia.com. I thought I reserved them for May but received an email in February saying it was time to pick out my cars. I have no evidence of how that happened. I tried to cancel the week-long rental. I was willing to pay a cancellation fee or just shift the reservations to May, but Sixt charged me for both cars for the entire week in February. They blamed Expedia even though Expedia had written them an email on my behalf. It's simply unethical. My guess is that Sixt rented the cars out for the week, so they were paid twice. BEWARE of both organizations.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Expedia.com and Sixt car rental!

Absolutely a disgusting business. I would never trust them again, nor recommend them. Take anyone else but them. They keep your car bond/deposit for 7 days (maybe longer, as still not recieved it back) after a 1 day hire. They say its the bank that is holding it. My bank said it was they were holding it. Crooks.
Tip for consumers:
they do not return your bond or refund same day. refund came 3 days. bond I am still waiting after 7 days.

I travel weekly to Phoenix. I have rented from Sixt 2 times. The first time was not terrible that is why I rented again. My second rental for 2 days cost $908.96. I cannot recommend a company who's business plan includes price gouging. After pre-paying $819.20 I was charged another $119.31. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. I will not put myself in this position again. BEWARE!
Tip for consumers:
I wish I had read the reviews. I hope those who read this learn from my mistake.

I wont be going into details too much, but cut the story short, they have added extras to my agreement without my knowledge costing me £200! This business model of this company is unethical, they are scammers and thief's.Keep away from them. Does anyone have an email address for their complaint department?
First thing they didn't reserve my car had my confirmation number everything was done from a-z
Charged me an extra fee of 1000$ For a more expensive car then no navigation horrible horrible company people don't go with sixt
Hired a car in Spain was very suspicious when in the damage report covered stone chips so small that I could hardly see them. I returned the card and was given a clean bill of health by the agent however a week later they tried to charge me for a stone chip to the drivers mirror which had already been pointed out when I picked up the car.
Really not impressed with this company, worst I have ever used in in regard. Avoid (unless you don't mind paying for their over priced excess policy)
If I could give -5 stars I would. Said I had damaged vehicle when I returned with no damage. Had my wife's name as second driver and somehow they said she was the main driver. Got a letter from collections. Please DONT use this scam car rental company. Just look at other reviews if you don't believe me. Good luck!
Completely unethical company. Extorted damage charges from me that I did not cause and could not address because they failed to give me a full pre rental damage report before leaving the property. Charges for repair inflated, add-on's like value depreciation and admin fees added, but worst off they refused to give me a claims manager (in authority) name and direct contact to deal with. They hide behind their processes. Not to mention they charged me a cancellation fee because they were unable to change a reservation after a flight was cancelled, so I had to cancel and make a new reservation at a cost of an additional $100. Don't use them, they are completely unethical.
Tip for consumers:
buyer beware
Beware! - Sixt are a bunch of thieves. We used them for a holiday in Denmark last week. After returning to the UK they issued us with a £274 bill for a small chip to the windscreen, which had already been pointed out prior to departure. I wrote to them to complain, I didn't receive a reply and they simply went ahead and charged my credit card for the unauthorized fee. My wife and I are appalled at their customer service and won't ever be using Sixt again. There must surely be much better and more honest car hire companies out there. I would give them 0 stars if I could.
It is impossible to speak with customer service. I paid for a rental car well in advance and needed to cancel. When I did (with 4 months notice!) SIXT kept 20% of my payment in full. In an email exchange, they absolutely refused to refund the $100. This is not how rental cars typically work or should work. Watch out!
Make sure you go over the car with a fine tooth comb before leaving the lot with car. Be prepared to get down on your hands and knees. Note every scratch or nick. This may be difficult if its dark but it is necessary if you want to avoid being billed for EXISTING damage. Also if you are accused of any damage and want to utilize the coverage provided by your credit card note that some card services require you notify them within 60 days. Sixt may not notify you of damage until after 60 days of the original rental period thus rendering your card's coverage useless.
