Do shoes need to be sent in original boxes?

Honestly this company is not choosing to accept a lot of product that could easily be listed. I have sent bags and bags, including valuable pieces... cashmere sweaters, high end items of considerable retail cost and relatively recently produced. When questioned I am given the response that the items were not in as good a shape as they wanted them to be. That their buyers should be able to buy perfect product. My take on this is... if it's a 200 dollar cashmere sweater and the purchase price is under 10 dollars, a few pills on the fabric should be a non issue! Period. I question what is going on, frankly, as many do. Too much disappears with no explanation, many bags go into complete reject status. I genuinely am concerned that there is a story here and may become apparent after a while. Only time will tell.

No boxes are needed. You won't get what they're worth anyway. I sent a brand new pair of shoes, never worn plus a bag full of very good clothing and got a whopping $9 and change. Don't waste your time.

Boxes are not necessary. I would list them on ebay or Poshmark before I'd send them to thredUP.

Boxes aren't needed. They probably will tell you they don't accept them and you won't get anything or if they do accept them you will get a few dollars. The company is shady at best. My advice is to avoid them.

Let's see they donate items for you... Who takes the tax write-off?

Id like to add that they made you wait 14 days before you can even take a payout. Another hassle.

Don't need to send s box. However, I'd suggest finding another option besides thredup! They are crooks. They stole an entire bag of new clothing and designer items from me with some hogwash explanation. I'm not sure why they're still in business

As stated above, DO NOT SEND ANYTHING to Thread UP! They lose you items and remain unresponsive!

As others have said, do not send anything to thred up, you are better off with eBay, local consignment or even donating your items for the tax deduction.

Don't send this site ANYTHING! You might as well send them only the box BC that's what they will treat your item as - worthless.
