You can change your route anytime on your trip by changing destination by using the app on your phone. To be polite let your driver know. But the driver does not know where your destination is until AFTER they pick you up, btw. I hope that helps you.
In the app, just select a car with a car seat. As soon as the driver accepts u to pick you up, you are then able to contact them. I suggest calling and letting them know you need 3 car seats. Also, you might want to try selecting the "SUV With car seat" option and then do the same thing (contact them and ask if they have 3 car seats). Drivers with a larger car like an suv are the most likely candidate to have more than one car seat. But at this time, as far as i know, there is no way to request more than one car seat specifically. I would actually suggest that you email uber directly and ask them this question. Then they will know that this is a good idea to add as an option in their app (to be able to request ubers with a certain # of car seats). They are pretty good at responding to emails promptly.
I am pretty sure that the bad reviews might be from very few passengers whom maybe had a bad experience. Nothing out there is 100% perfect. I get 5 star rating from my passengers. But, there are always some bad apples in any given business or work place. As a driver you will make decent money. As long as you keep a good attitude and be nice and professional with your work and customers.
It's not a legitimate business if that's what you're asking. Anytime you request an uber, you're playing roulette. You might be paying anywhere from $5-300, depending on if they decide to implement their "surge" pricing (aka: price gouging). They say they always put out an alert to let you know what you might be paying, but that definitely isn't the case. I was supposed to only pay $5 out of pocket with a promo code and ended up paying over $100 for a 5 minute ride.
Uber is in Texas to stay. They are changing the livery business through changing the laws. They have been working with two law makers that are helping them. They have already changed the laws enough to allow Uberx, UberXL, UberSELECT and UberBlack to pick passengers from Love field Airport. Theyare working hard currently to make it possible to pick from DFW by August/September this year.
