Is a headset required for UserTesting.com or is the microphone on the computer sufficient?

No. The computer microphone works fine as long as your environment is quiet.

You can use a general computer microphone. I'd recommend doing some test recordings on your own with an audio app so you can adjust recording levels. If it's distorted or too quiet, you may not get paid.
