Question:

Why can't i get more than one $1.25 report per email address? when i apply for a second report using the same email address, the website states my email address is already used. since i have 3 email addresses, i was able to get 3 reports, 1 for each. but i've run out of email addresses, so i'm unable to order further reports. why?

Answer:

Some of the reviews seem to imply it's a monthly service for $19.95 or $29.95 per month, and that the $1.25 is just a come-on to get you started. A lot of the reviews imply it's impossible to cancel the monthly charges once you pay the initial $1.25 or $0.95. They say the company is impossible to contact, to cancel the monthly service. Have you tried getting a 2nd report from the same $1.25 account, without paying another $1.25, before they charge the next $19.95 or $29.95 monthly fee? If it's a monthly service, it seems like that should work, unless it's just a total scam or something.

Question:

I just ordered a one time basic report on line and paid with a credit card. i became suspicious when i was nearly trapped into signing up for a monthly service of $19.95 a month. this caused me to research consumer complaint websites and i found several other reports of this happening to others. i want to be very sure i will not be charged on my credit card for anything other than the $1.25 i agreed to.

Answer:

If you do get charged for an amount you didn't agree to, you should contact your credit card company immediately. Most credit card companies are very helpful in such cases.

Question:

How do they get away with charging me for a whole year when i signed up for a one time shot?

Answer:

You posted the same question twice. Probably by mistake, as a lot of sites like this sometimes have minor malfunctions that make it look like a question didn't post when it actually did.

Question:

They say they credited my account back with my $19.95 but i also see a charge for $19.95 after they gave me the credit and they say i have to contact my bank on this. i consider this a scam and wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Answer:

Did you contact your bank? Keep contacting them as long as this problem keeps happening. It's your civic duty to make sure nobody ever gets away with overcharging credit cards. Even if the money means nothing to you, the same bad charges can cause major problems for other people, who might be struggling to survive, and need all the help they can get. Your fight is their fight. Such fights are only won when everyone keeps fighting.
