Both Nate and Brett called today to keep me frequently informed of when they would be arriving. Once here I showed them the 4 furniture pieces that I needed removed. An estimated quote was given, they got everything out in 20 minutes and he actual quote was less. Both friendly, professional and accommodating. I was happy to give them a tip and I highly recommend their services. Now our basement is much clearer - thank you soon much!
NO SHOW FOR 1 800 GOT JUNK. I set up an appointment time with 1 800 Got Junk. They phoned & text me at the beginning of my appointment to say they are coming. The driver called a little while later saying they would be here in the next hour. Waited & waited & they never showed up. They wasted my time. I still got my junk: (
Called for a saturday appointment, Jesse and Andrew were very nice. They took a small load that day and said they would be back on Monday, they could have taken more but didn't. They came around 9:15 filled the truck twice, second time told me the dumps were closing so they couldn't come back for the rest that day. So, I talked to the manager Sam, and we booked another time the next Friday. Friday July 1st came with a no call, no show. Tried calling Sam and Andrew, no luck. So, I had no choice but to call corporate to get to the bottom of it. Sam called all apologetic said he had no excuse, gave me the "we are understaffed, ran out of time, dumps closing early etc. So, I rescheduled again for Wednesday, I told them I was working and would like them to be there when I got home, with the truck filled up and all I would do is pay them. That did not happen... They were supposed to be here between 2 pm and 4 pm. I called corporate again and Sam, called me right back. His crew got here at 4:25. By 5pm they had the rest of the junk ready FINALLY! Sharkeem and Will were very fast and worked to get things done. For all the setbacks and very high quote, I did not get a discount for the inconvenience or frustration. Will I ever use this service again remains to be seen? I wish I could have given a better review because the gentlemen were all very nice, I just can't. Don't promise to get it done in 1 day when it took 4 different days. No call, no show is really upsetting and makes you feel unimportant. No matter the circumstances someone should have called - Manager or even corporate to check on the job to make sure it was getting done.

MY NAME IS MARCIA AND ON 13 JULY 21, I CALLED 1800GOTJUNK TO GET A QUOTE TO PICKUP A TV AND STAND. THEY GAVE ME A QUOTE OF $130+ AND I MADE THE APPT FOR 14 JULY 21. I TOLD THE REP, I LIVE IN A 3 STORY TOWNHOUSE AND HE SAID IT'S FINE. THE THREE MAN CREW SHOWED UP AND I TOOK THE ONE INCHARGE UPSTAIRS AND SHOWED HIM THE TV & STAND (THE TV IS VERY OLD HEAVY). HE LOOKED AT IT AND SAID IT WILL COST $600 TO TAKE IT. I TOLD HIM THAT'S NOT WHAT THEY QUOTED ME. HE ASKED ME HOW MUCH THEY QUOTED ME AND I TOLD HIM $135. HE SAID HE WILL DO IT FOR $500, I SAID I CAN'T AFFORD IT. HE ASKED ME HOW MUCH I CAN AFFORD, I SAID $200. HE SAID HE HAVE TO CALL HIS BOSS, HE LEFT FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES. WHEN HE CAME BACK HE SAID HIS BOSS SAID $500, I SAID NO. HE TOLD ME IF I CAN GET SOMEONE TO TAKE IT DOWN STAIRS AND PUT IT ON THE CURVE, THEY WILL COME BACK AND PICK IT UP FOR $200. I TOLD HIM, IF I GET SOMEONE TO TAKE IT TO THE CURVE I WILL GIVE THEM THE $200 TO DISPOSE IT. THEY ARE A BIG A** RIP OFF. AFTER THEY LEFT, I CALLED MY HANDYMAN AND HE CAME BY AFTER THEY LEFT. HE AND HIS FRIEND TOOK IT TO GOODWILL AND I GAVE HIM $50 AND $50 FOR HIS FRIEND. MONEY WELL SPEND. YOU SHOULD PUT IN THEIR ADVERTISMENT, 1800GOTJUNK, WE'LL RIP YOU OFF. NEW NAME 1800RIPOFFS. 600$ for half a garage of cardboard boxes and two medium items. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Rip off of a company
They showed up 3 hours late. The first two guys were decent and they took everything I asked them to. They loaded things quickly and things were going well until Stephen showed up. I think they sent him in to do the "dirty work". He's a scam artist but not a particularly good one.
They loaded the truck by standing stuff up on the side and then put other stuff flat. I've read on other reviews that they try to fluff up the stuff. Side stacking makes it hard to estimate how full the truck is. The initial estimate was 1/2 to 2/3s full. It was just about 1/2, but Stephen insisted that I had to pay for 2/3 because that was the original estimate. In the end he said he would only charge me for 5/8s (split the difference). I wasn't pleased but the guys had worked hard so I gave in.
The cost was $447. However Stephen wrote $477 on the slip. I assumed he made an honest mistake but when I pointed out the difference he immediately took offense. He got loud and insisted he wasn't trying to cheat me. It was over the top and I hadn't accused him of trying to cheat me. I figured he just wrote it down incorrectly but he seemed to have a guilty conscience.
I was paying by credit card, so he handed me his phone to sign. As I did so I noticed the amount on the screen had now jumped to around $580. Again I questioned the amount, he snatched the phone from me, punched a couple keys and handed it back. What I find odd is that I think he had added in a tip (a hefty one considering I'd already agreed to pay for a bigger load and they were 3 hours late). But instead of saying, oh that's for a tip or something to that effect and giving me a chance to tip them, he just snatched the phone from me.
When he left, my son who was outside heard him say to the other two workers that "I didn't fall/go for it". One of the other guys said, "but I thought we were supposed to get the 580".
I won't use 1-800-Got-Junk service again as I feel like they tried to cheat me, but they did take everything and it only took 20 minutes to load. If you do venture to use them, be prepared for them not showing in the time window and check everything before you sign.
This company will not pick up your junk. Contrary to the name of the company, do not be deceived. They will send to millennial boys to your door fitting the Ken doll description one blonde and one brunette to satisfy all preferences on the outside. They will refuse to take your junk if it is not extremely clean and disinfected no matter what. I had them show up at my house yesterday to tell me what they would and would not take. This is the exact opposite of what the initial phone call to set up the appointment and what was told they would do upon arrival. Do not hire this company if you actually need to remove old furniture and anything upon move out that needs to go in order to not be charged for leaving anything behind for the new owner. They will waste your time and tell you they'll come and remove it all and only take what is outside providing it is nowhere near any sort of dirt to put on there truck and remove. They will charge you at least $300 plus tax and fees for stuff outside that bulk pickup would gladly pick up for free. They will not come in your home and remove any sort of furniture or items that needs to be removed to alleviate any fees you may incur after move out unless the items are pristine and disinfected even if the home is due for complete remodel and the new owner will not care if there is dirt in the home. If you have any sort of time restrictions, you will be disappointed if you set an appointment and expect them to complete what is Promised on the booking appointment call. I am trying to stop anybody who needs to actually get these things accomplished and not mess around with Millennial sent out that do not want to work. I would never hire or recommend this company. They have made my move a huge setback due to their lack of work ethic. These employees should be fired. This economy is not in a good place for Blackie's like this to be employed in a position where they do nothing all day collect a paycheck and refuse to remove junk from homes which is their jobs and misleading in the company name.
And in the end if you turn your back they will leave your property without advising you that there are two little boys and cannot take any of the junk even the stuff outside that could easily have been moved to the curb for bulk pickup.

None. I was left high and dry by your employees after they advise that they wouldn't pick up half the stuff anyway. They took off like little unprofessional boys. Not a good look for the company.
I would like to say that I was very livid with the way my appointment was constructed on Mon-18 OCT 2021.
At first, the scheduling department did not get my time correct for their arrival. I tried to confirm the date three times prior to their arrival to ensure that Got-JUNK would show up to remove the items at a storage location in Newark, DE. On the day of my request for my items removal, approximately 6 hours prior to the time that the removal was scheduled, I confirm - there was no show. I called the 1800 # and was told that someone would show up, which now it was 1 hour after the designated time. The first person called and left a message that he was redirected to go to another location, which this left me perplexed and incensed. A person called, John, stated that he was coming with someone in 30-60 mins. I received another phone called, and this person stated that he would be at the storage location in 30 mins. John never ever showed up. However, Cordell and Jemiel showed in 30 mins.
I do "WANT" to let upper-management know that these two workers did an outstanding job. With the items I had, and the time it took to complete the task, it was very very extremely phenomenal, astounding, and spectacular. They made very rational recommendations and put in abundant amount of effort to complete the task. I would like to acknowledge their work today-18 OCT 2021 in every way. I would like to make every exertion to make this known to their manager and the company's CEO.
Please, award them with any bonuses and/or raises that they truly desire because the task that they accomplished today was WELL ON POINT!
Please let me know who I need to contact to escalate this assertion and pronouncement for Jemiel and Cordell's work. Without their effort and perseverance, I would not have had an satisfying experience with Got-JUNK.

I had a very bad experience with 1-800-Got-Junk. The movers themselves were good and professional, but the management is very poor. First, I scheduled my junk removal 3 days in advance and got the standard confirmation, which indicated that the time was reserved and I would get a call 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. The manager for the Chicago region, who I believe was most of the problem, called me a day prior and asked me to confirm for the following day. I called back later and left him a voicemail indicating I was still on. His number did not have any voicemail message recorded indicating he was with the company.
The day of arrives and I wait and wait. Thirty minutes AFTER the scheduled time I called the main customer service line and asked what was going on. She called the Chicago area manager, who told her he would not be able to honor my appointment. I complained as I had scheduled my whole weekend around this appointment, so she "escalated" the call and put me on hold. Ten minutes later she told me I would be receiving a call from the manager who would tell me when the movers would arrive. He said they would be there near the end of the two hour appointment window.
It will come as no surprise that they did not show up and I had to call again. The customer service rep said I would be getting another call from the manager to explain why they were so late. At this point they were three hours late. I never heard from this manager again, but got a call from the movers telling me when they would be there.
They arrived, three and a half hours late. But that is not all, they arrived with a truck that was about 1/3 full. I gave a very detailed rundown of what I had in my appointment and it should have been clear that I had very near a whole truck of water damaged items. So they had to fill the truck, go dump it across town (which took 1.5 hours), then come back for 5 larger items. By the time they were done it was seven hours after my scheduled time. Had they arrived on time with an empty truck it would have taken about 30 minutes. No discount offered for my inconvenience and the total cost was $720.
Then after all was said and done, customer service contacted me via email and said that I would be receiving a call from the Chicago area manager to discuss the situation and all the failures, but I did not receive that call and informed this customer experience team three times that I have not received a call.
Overall, just a very disorganized and careless group of people. The movers themselves were great, but everyone else involved just doesn't care about the customer. I went with them because I thought they would be more reliable than cheaper options available in Chicago, but I was wrong.
