My 4-year old loves ABCmouse. She loves to sing along with the various alphabet songs, she knows the character names, and she particularly loves talking about how many tickets she has. She has definitely really leapt ahead in her letter recognition and general understanding of the alphabet since she started playing. We did try the personalized assessment (which costs extra) and found it was not really worth it -- it didn't actually change anything in the base app experience which is where our daughter spends all her time. But the base app is pretty fantastic.
This app is good, but the only issue I have is, that it charges you every single time when the child goes onto another level to unlock. No one has that type of money to pay for each and every learning session. Not happy!
It's cute and fun but WAY too much to do. There is no clear learning path or assessment guides. There's too many activities for a 2-3 yr old to choose from, too many pet options (why is there a hamster AND pet park AND aquarium for example). This needs to be cleaned up and streamlined. In fact I will be canceling it because my 3 yr old gets overwhelmed and doesn't know what to do next when she signs on.
My daughter really enjoys using the app except that the app has alot of glitches that constantly happen and she becomes frustrated. Each time we've contacted customer service they are very helpful but we seem to arrive back at the same issue each time. We haven't been able to progress on the learning path because the game has buttons that do not respond. So I feel like we're just clicking around to find things that do work. The Mouse Theater also doesn't load any videos for us on both mobile app or PC.
Very few games and educational videos for a 2 yr old toddler, not at all as expected per their advertising.
I was able to try ABC Mouse for my 4 yr old daughter via what was supposed to be a free subscription via Groupon. I had the exp date and would decide at that point if I wanted to continue service. Well I noticed when I received a statement from my credit card that I had been billed 7.95 for one month of service. It is poor on their part that they did not state you actually needed to cancel prior to the supposed exp date. Why give a date if your not going to adhere to it. Then there isn't anyone to speak to. When it was said and done I had to contact my credit card company... never use your debit card for companies like this... they had to reverse to charges why ABC Mouse states we don't give refunds. My daughter unfortunalty liked this site but with the poor attitude behind the emails they will not have me as a customer again.
