I complained to the ABIA about one of their members and submitted the evidence as their website required. The way they have the complaints rules that the burden is on the client to provide evidence, which I did in writing as requested. The immediate response from the Chair was that they were a non profit and were not equipped to deal with the case. She did not even bother looking at my evidence and provided no follow up on the breach of their code of practice. Shortly after, Heather changed the text on the website changing the complaint submission requirements. I feel the ABIA provides a false sense of security but only serves to promote its members and services. They either make it hard to complain or refuse to deal with it so the consumer is very helpless and gets taken advantage of. Trading Standards should look into it.
