One month, and hours of calling and getting hung up on, I was told (by Ms. Maxwell, also helpful) to call and ask for the Account management Team to get results. I called and was connected to Kiana who was the kindest most helpful person ever. She was able to resolve a problem I had with two cameras that stopped working and no longer had any support. We have been with ADT for over 34 years. We are a retired couple on a fixed income. I recently installed an alarm system to try and save some money. I called to cancel, and they say I am under contract until June of next year and that we owe close to $300. Last time was talked to ADT we thought we were month to month contract. I talked to several people in billing, and none of them said they could do anything to forgive the charge. In the last 34 years, we've paid ADT over $20,000. I am amazed at how heartless this company is. I would strongly recommend using a different company when it comes to security.
At no point did anyone mention a contract. I flip homes and call to notify them of the sale and they tell me I owe them $1400 for the remaining contract. What a SCAM!

This company refused to cancel my service despite being outside of the contract window. I had to make 4 different attempts to cancel my monitoring services over the course of 10 months. They continued to charge me and each attempt was met with incompetent reps that seemed to be reading from prompt cards instead of helping me with the issue. Long conversations with redirection and excuses on why they can't do anything with reassurances that this time it will be different. Once the company actually cancelled my service I was told I needed to pay 95$ to bring everything current and it would be done. No. 4 months later I receive a collection notice for $85. ADT will continue to charge you and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. There's no action you can take. If you are currently a customer then when you go to cancel don't do it over the phone. Do it over email so there is a paper trail and you can substantiate your claim. I lost over $700 to this company plus several $25 returned payment charges due to someone changing my account information after my first cancelation attempt. I just paid the collection and pray this is over.

This is the absolute WORST alarm company of all time. We used ADT Blue and when we moved residences our hub wouldn't connect. Despite countless hours on the phone with their outsourced customer service we were unable to connect and paid for service for months with ZERO connection and no one I spoke with at ADT had a shred of concern that we were paying for a service we weren't receiving. When I finally got so fed up I had to cancel service they refused to waive the cancellation fee and charged me $1,500 unless I agreed to stay with ADT. Don't waste your time, money, or energy on this awful organization.

Stay far far away from ADT! Unless you know with absolute certainty that you will not move during your contact period with ADT DO NOT get their service. ADTs relocation department is a scam! They spew lie after lie and then you're forced to spend hours on hold them hours arguing with other departments for their mistakes. I KNEW this would happen and told the jerk at the relocation center it would. Now I have to spend hours to reverse a $1200 cancellation charge for a cancellation I didn't want simply because they said it wasn't possible to transfer service to the new address! I request for service over the phone and got a quote. When the tech came out to install I decided to add equipment but it cost more that I wanted to pay for a 24 month contract. He told me to call and ask for extended contract. I did the next day. I was sent a revised statement for 60 month contract and reduced fees for the equipment that were installed. I called back to the office 2 days later to make sure the adjustment was made. No one has no clue to what I was talking about. I emailed the document to a Customer Relations rep who investigated. She said they can't make change to my original agreement. I'm still in my 3 days grace period and they don't want to honor it. Offering me 2 months of non pay. NO. The next reason they said my credit was not approved, then said the flexible plan did not allow changes. LIES. They take more than the 3 days to investigate and trying to hold me hostage to a contract. I requested a change because the $ was more than I was expecting to pay in the 24 mo.

They charge you for cancelling for ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY LEAVE even they they say they don't. Now I have to engage a lawyer, send demand letters for all recoded calls and argue over the phone with a representative that tells me " I have no grounds," (as if he is a judge and can determine that)- idiot.
My son sold his home due to a 4 year military commitment, they will not waive the $653 cancellation fee. This is wrong on so many levels. Not to mention … I transferred the freaking service to a lake house of ours to avoid the cancellation fee. They are still getting our money. This company has no morals. ADT does not know "the right thing to do" and lies to get service "transferred"- when it's just a new service and new commitment. How can I trust them to be there in a emergency when they 1) don't have equal and fair pricing ( I have 3 homes. And the cost varied considerably and was more expensive in my homes located in lower income areas). 2) they do not honor military deployment cancellations - even thought they are supposed to 3) I was told if I transferred my service to my other home there would not be a disconnection fee.
They care about your money… not your safely and security

My company has been with ADT for the last 21years but apparently when i tried to cancel my contract I'm still in a contract until 2025! I was not responsible for any call outs or service/equipment except for the back up battery, which i fully understand. But for the last 2 years they have tried to charge me for call outs replacement keypads (that have never worked since installed and still don't). I currently have an invoice for nearly $800 for substandard equipment. When you try to call ADT they're rude, speak over you and cut you off if you argue a good case. DO NOT USE ADT COMMERCIAL look elsewhere

I was so unhappy with the customer service representative she over talk me she tried to explain that I got charged double for 2 months and called it prorating finally she agreed to return half of that in five to seven days I had to wait on the phone for 30 minutes 30 minutes unbelievable to talk to someone that was incredible all the while while listening to a recording telling me how great ADT was and how many customers they have if they have so many customers perhaps they should hire more customer service Representatives with better attitudes as soon as my contract is up I am done with you ADT

We are a law firm and former customer of ADT. This is a warning: if you prepay your account quarterly, and then terminate your account, they will steal whatever you paid them and have left on the account. They will not refund the money, saying it is too bad but they wiped your records. If you have been similarly cheated by ADT, please contact our office INVESTIGATIVE LAW OFFICES, P. C. We are gathering complaints to file an action against the company at the state and federal level.

It's a spiderweb! You'll never reach the end of your contract! They LIE, LIE & LIE! Don't believe nothing their reps tell you, they just want the sell, trust me. They got my bank account immediately for the remainder of my contract the very next day I told them I was moving. They offered me a portable system but yet charged me for the balance owed on my old system when the rep told me that my old account will be null & void since I'm going with the portable one and yes, you never can reach anybody and when you do, all they do is LIE! Camera never works, I had to sign a contract for 3 years with them and my time is about up. I cannot wait to tell them I am done! My camera did not work since Halloween when I had to get a new router for my wifi. Because of this the Wifi password changed and my camera couldn't connect. They came to fix it and charged me a trip charge of $59 that no one mentioned at all and $139 for labor, to reset the camera pw! Apparently it is not possible to change your own pw yourself. Then mysteriously 3 days later the camera would not connect at all. Walked through customer service call to no avail, walked through a tech call to no avail and then they said they had to send someone out. I told them someone was just at my house and charged me almost $200 to reset a pw. They assured me there would be no charge for this second trip. And guess what, the tech came, fixed the camera and left. Looked at my credit card a few days later and there was another $59 trip charge. The equipment is crap, and they nickel and dime you for not much service as near as I can tell. I have read a lot of reviews and it seems ADT used to be decent 3-5 years ago but something has definitely changed! Save your money and go with Vivint for security and Ring for cameras, even Amazon sells some pretty decent cameras for less than $100.

I am so disgusted by this company. They are smart they have you go through a 3 party contract WATCH THAT! The company is called Defenders and they don't want to defend you they want to defend ADT! After our alarm went off in the middle of the night, we jump out of bed and one of ADT call center ladies called my husbands phone. You can clearly hear our alarm going off and we are panicked! The lady on the phone proceeds to argue with my husband that she can't tell where the alarm is triggered at. I grab my phone to pull up the app and see that it is our downstairs garage door. He proceeds to argue with her and she never once told us she would call the police. My husband gets so angry with her that he hangs up the phone. He gets dressed and proceeds to take matters into his own hands. When he opened our front door two police yelled at him. Now I have called ADT and Defenders about this for months and gotten NO WHERE! ADT tells you to call Defenders and Defenders tells you to call ADT! Trust me when I tell you these people don't care about customers concerns. I even asked if my husband would of gotten shot would that get us out of the contract... the reply was no... Even after reaching out to the owner and CEO of defenders I got nowhere! It is SAD that companies no longer care about customers...

If I can leave -5 (minus) stars I will, I had a contract with them, then I sold my apartment and they told me to avoid the cancellation fee is better to go with Blue By ADT for my rental, that what I did, after calling ******* times to make sure everything is good and they confirmed it.
A year later I am receiving calls and mails from these companies that collect payments saying that I have a balance with ADT and I have to pay it if I don't want get in trouble!
I called a*******000 times giving them my client number with Blue By ADT, the date of activation of the new service but nothing, I am still receiving mails from asking for payment.
The worst company on this planet, the worst service and don't control with them!

If I could rate ADT as negative 100 stars I would. This is literally the worst company I have ever worked with. We have two houses with ADT alarms and on the two recent occasions (in the past 3 months) where we have had to get an engineer to come in as the alarm repeatedly kept ringing at 3am the response was appalling. It took them over 2 months to sort out the first occasion and we are still waiting for an engineer for the second occasion and it has already been over a week. You wait for hours on the phone to speak to someone who promises you someone will come and sort out the issue at a specific time. You wait inside all day and no one ever turns up. You call them and they say that the engineer cancelled (but they never bother to let you know). You book in again... they promise you the same again... no one turns up again. Only when you write in to complain do they give you a £30 voucher with M&S... what a total joke. I would NEVER recommend this company and as soon as we are in a position to change companies I will do so without hesitation. Anyone would be better than ADT.
