One month, and hours of calling and getting hung up on, I was told (by Ms. Maxwell, also helpful) to call and ask for the Account management Team to get results. I called and was connected to Kiana who was the kindest most helpful person ever. She was able to resolve a problem I had with two cameras that stopped working and no longer had any support. She took the time to make sure all my concerns were answered and taken care of. Than you Kiana for being the customer service specialist we all wish to talk to. Brian
We have been with ADT for over 34 years. We are a retired couple on a fixed income. I recently installed an alarm system to try and save some money. I called to cancel, and they say I am under contract until June of next year and that we owe close to $300. Last time was talked to ADT we thought we were month to month contract. I talked to several people in billing, and none of them said they could do anything to forgive the charge. In the last 34 years, we've paid ADT over $20,000. I am amazed at how heartless this company is. I would strongly recommend using a different company when it comes to security.
I waited over two hours to cancel my service. And once I cancelled it, they will continue to charge me until my billing cycle ends. Horrible customer service and integrity

If your military I strongly recommend to avoid ADT at all cost. I was told when I signed up that if I got orders to move that EVEYTHING would be waived and I would not owe a dime. 6 months later I got orders and now they are telling me they will waive the contract but not the equipment (they told me to leave behind because I would get new stuff if the new house could have ADT). So now not only do I not have the equipment, bc the house sold with it on it. But I'm also stuck with an almost $2000 loan bill. I was told this was NOT a loan and that it was just payment plans that would be waived. I've been in the military I would NEVER have knowing singed a loan knowing I would be moved.

ADT is a joke the worst customer service I have ever seen! They clam to have a life time warranty on equipment but when it goes down you cant get anyone to help. I am going to tell ALL my friends and family TO NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. On hold for 45min with the rudes customer service

I have been with ADT for over 20 years and I have seen the customer service decline over the years. Why is it so difficult to speak with an ADT rep? And, when you're connected you're in the wrong department so when you get transferred the phone hangs up on you.
I recently switched from ADT Pulse to ADT Command system - I have to say it sucks! The reliability just isn't there. Tonight, the battery on the main panel is dead, which I didn't know until the other panels were saying "standby" - I try to call ADT for help... instead during the hold times I fixed it myself! I ended up pulling the battery from my Garage main panel (I have a separate ADT Command system) and it turned back on. I haven't even had the system for 6 months and the battery is dead already and the monitoring center did not receive notification that my system was down. What am I paying to be monitored then? At this point, I am completely frustrated because I have spent so much on this new system and it sucks! In addition, the ADT customer support sucks... well, their answering phone system! I will need to call to see what my options are - if I can get my money back or switch back to the ADT Pulse system.

Atrocious, Horrible, Appalling. If I can offer you any advise, RUN AWAY FROM ADT. Not worth the expense, Not worth the ALWAYS WAITING ON HOLD, Not worth the false alarms, Not worth the slow app response. JUST DONT DO THIS!

This alarm system was so not worth it. Even in the end we are still fighting for a refund with cameras that still have the wrong time, Cameras looking at trees, no door bell installed and an app that takes 3-5 hours to send or get alerts. When you call in for assistance you wait on hold for HOURS. I have never been on the phone for less then 2 hours and even after all this time the system is still not set up correctly. 100% UNACCEPTABLE. Go anywhere else.

3. I was told I could leave my equipment and I will not get charged for it (they use it as a way to get new clients etc)
4. That was a big lie- not only did I get charged for the equipment, the property management charged me to remove their equipment
5. ALWAYS TAKE THE EQUIPMENT WITH YOU, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THE ENTIRE BALANCE AND SEND YOU TO COLLECTIONS SO TAKE IT AND USE IT ELSEWHERE.
6. They nickel and dime you to DEATH! They will not send a tech out to fix the issue without charging you a ridiculous BS fee of at least $90 PH and those tech guys might be new and be there for 7 hours.
7. DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO BUYING MORE EQUIPMENT THAN YOU REALLY NEED.
8. Just buy a doorbell camera and a camera for the inside of the house maybe back door area.
9. The monitoring service is at least $70 a month.

So I ordered ADT to my house and the guy who installed the parts said to me I would pay just 800 dollars for the parts but he forgot to tell me I would pay for 5 years the service and he said I could cancel when I want when I called the ADT customer service they said I would pay 2800 if I cancel so they lied to me. Now I have to be in this company for long time paying for nothing because they like to steal people. I hate this company so much please don't pay the service with them.

I have an inside camera that all of the sudden has a water droplet in the viewer. Not sure how it got there and the camera is a mobile one that I can move around and sit on a shelf or wherever so it is not attached to the house but is on the service. They want to send a tech out to troubleshoot the camera when I could mail it in and have it assessed. They are telling me it is 59 bucks just for assessment and they may or may not be able to fix it bc it may or may not be their issue to cover. Ah ok... I pay almost 70 bucks in monitoring fees and if ANYTHING goes wrong they don't cover they crap they put in the house? Not what the dude who installed stuff told me at all. I am SUPER NOT HAPPY. Now I have a camera that, I am hoping will recover but what if it does not. The droplet is right in the viewer so I can't use it and I am not paying 59 bucks for them to come out here for no reason. If it was a washer, my washer, totally got that but this is their camera... one I am paying to use. It is like paying a service charge for comcast or verizon (which I refuse to do) b/c I am paying for your service and your crap is not working so you need to fix it or discontinue billing me. I can find much cheaper services, and use my own stuff. Only had this service for 2 years, actually less than 2 years.

I have a $175 a month contract. It took four visits to get a technician to install system correctly. The camera never were clear. My contract includes fees for technicians at no cost. I have been offline for 3-4 months. They never called to inform me. I did call them numerous times. I am still off line. They never called to inquire why my 24/7 monitored system was offline. I made it clear when I installed the system that my home had been vandalized. They put in antiquated systems in my home. They did not utilize 2023 technology. The CCTV cameras are old technology. And never showed clear photos. They don't back up footage. They put in old keypads instead of digital on my licks. They prefer Google. They have absolutely zero to offer. The customer service department speaks to you without asking for the password. The technicians say when they are in my home they can't contact ADT on the phone. I have everything recorded. They are not a company that I trust with my security. I never was notified by them that I was offline. They are a joke. They don't honor their contracts. To remove their antiquated system and camera and repair the damage to my home is costing me me more than the contract. If they say they monitor 24/7 why don't they notify you when your service is offline? Why don't they ask for your password before speaking to you? They don't care if your dead or robbed or in danger. They only care that they get your money. I haven't slept in months. I have called numerous times. If you are at risk don't use ADT. Buyer beware.

ADT IS A SCAM! RENTERS SHOULD NEVER GET THEM! The contract is no less than three years and if you have to move you breach the contract and pay 75% in penalties and have to get a new contract for the new house and new equipment.

We explained to ADT that we only needed monitoring temporary when the tenant (who had been there for over 20 years and paid for monitoring for all that time) moved out of our office building that was up for sale. Unfortunately i was 2 1/2 hours from the location of the office building and my husband took time off from his job to meet with the tech to transfer the service. He thought he was signing just transfer papers because we had repeatedly explained to ADT both the corporate office and their tech that this was only until the office building sold. Well the tenant moved out in July2020 and we took over paying for the monitoring and the building sold on 10/22/2020. So that is 4 months of monitoring. Now ADT is making me pay the balance on a 36 month contract! Basically the tech tricked my husband into signing something we did not want. I have zero respect for this company. I called and explained and their only remedy was to move the service to a new location... they building is sold where would be move it. BTW my husband and I are senior citizens. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB.

I wish I can give it a 0 out of 10. Unfortunately, the one star will do. I've been with ADT for almost a year and a 1/2. Last year I had absolutely no issues with automatic payments. Since June of 2023, I've been having issues. I have spoke to them every single month about taking money out of my bank, and they said that they fixed the automatic payments, but they didn't. Unfortunately, I would like to cancel with them. But they blindsided me when I signed up with them. They said there was no contract, and they lied, and now there is. The customer service is the worst that I have ever experienced. They don't listen to what you say. They transfer the call, so they don't have to deal with you anymore. And try speaking to a supervisor is like finding a hay in a needle stack. I do not recommend this company to anybody. I have never had a company that does not give an email or text message about payment being declined. This company gaslights you Saying that they don't send out emails or text messages when your payment has declined. So you need to figure it out on your own. Please save your money and go to ring instead. They are a lot cheaper. And you don't have to deal with this run around.

I contacted ADT to let them know I was selling my home, and moving to a temporary location until the construction on my new home is complete. I was told in order for me not to be assessed a breech of contract fee, I would need to go with Blue by ADT (which is a total rip off), despite the fact that my family member who I reside with has an alarm system with another company. I was also told my account will be in a suspended status until service is resumed at the new home. So why do I need Blue by ADT I asked, and the rep said I will need to activate the system at the new home until a technician is able to come out and install a full alarm system. Well my account was suspended for a few months, then all sorts of erroneous charges started hitting my credit card. Oh, that was one of the conditions for this Blue by ADT, you had to have a payment method on file for them to send out this mockery equipment. I had to have my credit card deactivated to avoid bogus charges, and my Servicer is currently investigating these fees. I was told I signed a contract that I never signed, and the copy I requested just shows a "print" of my name. I was also told accounts are only suspended for 2 months per year, and someone must have been generous in my case. Okay, so there are no policies or procedures actions are based on generosity? I do not advise anyone to go with this company. Please don't

Decided to get a security syste. Quoted one prize by tech started upselling upon arriving. Talked extreme politics though I kep changing subject. Upon installing thermostat, damaged AC unti. Tech promised 5 days in a row to return and fix. 2 seniors 1 disabled waited in 80 degrees for tech. Finally called AC guy who repaired and comfirmed ADT damaged. Corporate was arragant. They state they are not regulated with anyone. Reason for such poor service. I have a claim pending. Researching google found similar horrow story. When I told them I could provide a negative review, thwy simply did not care. Many nightmare stories and law suits. Beward of ADT.

I called ADT on 9/7/16 to inform them I was cancelling my service. My service was up 10/2/16, I was informed by them that I would have to pay up until 10/7/16 because I did not give them a 30 day notice. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years, always paid for the policy up front for the year. They can not denial that. My new service starts on 9/26/16@5pm. So I am paying ADT for service that is not render to me.(9/26-10/7. Their cooperate office called me to ask why I was leaving them. I explain to them what was going on with no results. This company has engaged in the worst form of gamesmanship to achieve their own goals. I am not asking them to built me a Noah Ark just do the right thing. As I understand ADT is merging with protection one. I do not believe that because I started out with security cooperate and they merged with deacon then deacon merged with ADT No one is around. I am reaching out to the public so they will no this company is not what they say they are. When we bought our house, the former owner had ADT. ADT said they could transfer the system to us, but when it came time to do that, ADT said the system was outdated and they couldn't (even though the system WAS CURRENTLY in use with the old owner). Then ADT said they could sell us a new system, but not now because they weren't doing that due to covid. Bunch of rotten rats trying to squeeze the consumer. I hear their customer service is about on par with all of this.

They lied to me and said I would be able to cancel service if I needed to. That is the only reason I went with ADT. I was never told I would be in a 3 year contract. The man who did the installation was new and didn't know what he was doing. He never informed me of the length of the contract and I just had to sign electronically on his phone. He didn't finish the installation that day and said he would return and then never did. It took a month and me calling for them to send someone out to finish the installation. I was charged for the month of service even though the installation wasn't finished and I was unable to use the service. I called and asked them to credit me for the month, they lied and said they would, and then never did. They make you wait on hold for ridiculous amounts of time, sometimes hours before ever speaking to a person. They will transfer you over and over and over again in the hopes you'll just hang up. I spent hours explaining the situation just for them to send me a fraud form that is not applicable to my situation. I removed my credit card from my account and they still charge it without being authorized to do so. They will lie to you and steal from you. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I've learned ADT uses a third party company ironically called Safe Haven. While first moving into my home, I was visited a few times by a young representative. I was told I could cancel my services at any time without a fee or being bound to paying additional costs if I chose to do so. Hence, why I agreed to the contract. Literally while moving in amongst all the chaos, the installer came in with a tablet to obtain my signature with over 30 pages of contract. While skimming through the contract and not finding anything about a 3 year contract, I asked the installer about the terms of the contract. He stated that I could stop the service at anytime without being charged additional fees as well. After several months, I requested to turn the service off due to financial hardship. The bill was nearly $60/month when I'd been quoted $39/month. It I was then I was told I was in a 3 month contract. I explained what occurred and was told there was no getting out of it. To cancel, I would have to pay everything for 3 years up front. When I tried to pay what I could, I was harassed receiving 3+ calls/day requesting payment despite multiple attempts to lower the bill, they refused to offer a better deal. I explained the contract was collected on fraudulent terms and ADT insists despite no longer wanting the service or any dealings with them, I am bound to a 3 year contract. I thought they're company offers security services. Folks need to be warned of their corrupt and fraudulent practices and made aware of how the company prey's on consumers with a being one of the most bogus breeches of their safety and security.

It has been a non stop nightmare and they will not allow you out of your contract and are charging $8000+ for the so called "installment fee" that we pay for 5 years even though their installation was faulty and my equipment has been glitching since install.
EIGHT tech appts for different things and they still won't let me out of it. I am hiring an attorney and hoping to take this to the Attorney General. Worse company I've every dealt with.
Account management was brusque and had no desire to listen to my concerns or help me.
