One month, and hours of calling and getting hung up on, I was told (by Ms. Maxwell, also helpful) to call and ask for the Account management Team to get results. I called and was connected to Kiana who was the kindest most helpful person ever. She was able to resolve a problem I had with two cameras that stopped working and no longer had any support. She took the time to make sure all my concerns were answered and taken care of. Than you Kiana for being the customer service specialist we all wish to talk to. Brian

We have been with ADT for over 34 years. We are a retired couple on a fixed income. I recently installed an alarm system to try and save some money. I called to cancel, and they say I am under contract until June of next year and that we owe close to $300. Last time was talked to ADT we thought we were month to month contract. I talked to several people in billing, and none of them said they could do anything to forgive the charge. In the last 34 years, we've paid ADT over $20,000. I am amazed at how heartless this company is. I would strongly recommend using a different company when it comes to security.

Wanted Outdoor Camera and Indoor Motion Sensor.
Accept personal responsibility. But SOLD VERY EXPENSIVE with Sensors on Every Entry after tales of local problems.

Since Then, Nothing BUT PROBLEMS:
-The Indoor Camea NEVER worked.
-Window 15 needed a new Battery within four weeks, and every three weeks there-after. Then DIY Replaced.
-Window 40 had a Fault, corrected, then another Fault. ADT Tech said it could be a BAD BAYCH, eventually DIY Replaced.
-Window 16 showed a Fault, and Bypassed.
-Told AT INSTALLATION that TWO APPs were needed, Google and ADT, since parts of ADT System Doorbell and Cameras not compatible with Google.

In two years, never heard from ADT.
THEN, Confirming Correct Decision of Cancelling ADT:
FOUR HOURS AFTER Cancelling Service, received CALL after DIY Sensor removed.
Received three Phone Calls next day.
Then NOTICE that Control Panel disconnected after DIY Removal – Two Days after System was deactivated.

We had the system installed and Iater I discovered that the system would not be useful for our situation. My wife has dementia and if I leave the house for any reason and arm the system, and my wife opens a door the alarm would go off and she would have no idea what was happening resulting in a false alarm which carries a charge. The ADT people were aware of the wife's condition, however they did not alert me about this possibility. I contacted the company to explain the situation and was told I had to have a doctor send them a fax on her condition which the doctor did, however they declined to cancel the contract without me paying a very heavy penalty. The doctor was extremely disturbed and offered to do anything she could do to help me with the problem. My advise to anyone considering having the system installed is to be very wary of their "so called refund" before completing the signing of a contract, I for one would not recommend the ADT system to anyone I know of not because of the system per say but the company policies and the treatment of customers.

I signed a two-year contract because I was told my cats could not set off the alarm. The ADT technician lied, and my cats did set off the alarm. Because of this lie, I could not use the security alarm system. They would not let me get out of the contract.

When you have to sign a contract at all, it's very suspicious. They do that because they know a lot of people will find out how crappy the company is and not want to do business with them anymore.

Also, ADT provides a false sense of security. If the police are called out and there's nothing wrong, you are fined. You also have to register the alarm system with the city, which is an extra fee. You are much better off getting renter's insurance to cover the cost of theft. Otherwise, paying for a security alarm service is a waste of money.

Renter's insurance is like $12-$15 a month, and covers your stuff getting stolen, which pays for itself. ADT is not worth it, and is ultimately a huge waste of money. They will say anything to get you to sign that contract. Stay far away.

I've called adt customer service in May 2023 to find out whether my account would automatically be renewed for a yearly contract
when my current contract expired at the end of June. If that was the case, I was wanting to cancel the service and I made this clear. The representative I spoke to at the time assured me that the service would move on to a month-to-month basis with no obligation to renew, and that I would no longer be under contract. It's
July, and I have now received a bill for a whole new year's contract. Upon contacting adt customer service center on three times in the same day, I was told first that I was not under contract, then that I was in fact under a renewed contract. I did my due diligence in a timely manner to ensure I wasn't saddled with a service i didn't need for a house that is to be put on sale. And it is unacceptable that adt representatives feel comfortable openly lying to customers about the terms of the service to keep them tied up in contracts they neither want nor need. I'm utterly disgusted with this company. I want this contract canceled.

ADT is a criminal enterprise and has/is perpetuating FRAUD on its Clients/Customers on a continuing basis with willful and intentional malice and extreme prejudice.

Referencing the plethora of comments below on this platform it remains clear and obvious that this venue goes beyond simple negligence and is actively engaging in continuing fraudulent activities.

By actively conspiring in and under breach of contracted services, this entity is open and libel under class action suit and status. It has opened itself to several counts including, but not limited to, tort damages to its clients and customers, and moreover, has further opened itself to several additional counts of treble damages owed to its customers who, by signing a legal contract, were blatantly and intentionally defrauded of the technology and/or services listed. It remains clear that the continuing technology failures compounded with a lack of due maintenance is and was a maliciously act. There is a common thread here that identifies a willful implied intention, that being to steal money and services from all its customer base. Further, this appears to be a prima facie willful act.

Additionally, they further mock the customers who write these reviews with their comic feedback with a common, "Oh no", or "we are terrible sorry" boilerplate BS. It would be humorous if it was not criminal. In response I remain committed and ready to provide a legal brief containing appropriate terms of art to address the issues identified by the herein listed comments on this platform.

Faulty system, couldn't resolve with their tech. Customer support is only there to try to lock you into longer contract periods. Everything results in them extending their contract. Scam scam scam

I am on hold for the fifth time AT LEAST in the last month. I am not happy. Sensor fell off, it was replaced and that one didn't work after two hours AT LEAST of my time on the phone the technician said another one would be sent. I got that one, put it up and alarm would not quit sounding off. I spent 26 minutes on HOLD waiting for a technician to tell me to unscrew the battery that was plugged into my outlet and then open my key pad, unscrew the back and take out the back up battery and leave be until my virtual technician call. I have had ADT (Brink) for 14 years! Never had an issue and do not pay for house technician. I am beyond irritated with the amount of time I spent on the phone. I also asked for them to credit my account since it hasn't worked since the second week of JUNE and they told me I have to wait until it is working again and then CALL AGAIN and waste more time and at that time they will credit me. So this has been at least four hours of time I have missed, headache gallore, my family being irritated, my family having to miss a dinner with friends because I was at home and could not leave until I got this alarm off. I am definitely entertaining the idea of going with another company. I will say this is the worst customer service I have ever had with any company.

Okay so the service is horrible I been with ADT for about 8 months or so they are never on time with service, had to wait 2 weeks for new batteries replacement for the sensors, finely when I received them it was the wrong batteries then I had to wait another two weeks for a technician come in to Take a Look at the sensors, the technician was rude and unprofessional, afterward sensors would go off in the middle of the night all of the sudden and scary me and my children to death, happened very often. I wasn't noticed that they put me on a 3-year service when I had enough and decided to cancel the service they charged me 830$ for nothing, but ended up paying $520 with supervisors service… suck a rip off for a very unprofessional service I will not come back as a customer and will not recommend it to anyone I know!

I've been a customer for 5years, onecday I found out that a known thieve have been hacked the systen and got into my home without to becaeen in my cameras, I called for advice and they didnt check it, they said that it was a connection problem, but the thieft disconnected ftom outside and adt didn't warned me.

My complaint is about a specific salesman, but it is moreso intended for whoever trains the ADT sales staff. The salesman who came today was clearly just doing what he was trained to do, but it was predatory, slimy, and rude.

I asked the salesman who came by today if he was selling something and his answer was that he was NOT selling something but that he was actually here to give me a "final notice." I became concerned I owed ADT some sort of debt. But then he explained it's our "final notice" of a credit we have with ADT to put towards a new service. I think misleading sales tactics usually work better if you don't make it clear DURING the sales interaction that the customer has been misled.

This is after numerous instances of salespeople calling or actually coming to my door despite my complete lack of interest.

I've never been an ADT customer, but if ADT staff are predatory and deceptive in their first impressions, I can only imagine what they are like after a customer is stuck with them.

I have been a customer with ADT since Feb 2015, as of today I am no longer a customer. For the past 8 months none of my equipment has worked. Techs would be scheduled and not show, or when they did show, like yesterday, the half assed their job. Nothing still is working. So, when I found out the tech, Daniel, from yesterday did not do what he was supposed to, I called ADT. I was going to cancel yesterday, but spoke with Sheila from the Account Management Dept. She told me I had all of these wonderful upgrades for free and she was shocked no one has brought that to my attention. Fast forward, I am getting a whole system upgrade, installation, and activation free. New tech, Jonathan, comes out today, and wouldn't you know, everything Sheila told me was complete BS. I owe $1,000.00 for the equipment and whatever else charges they were trying to get out of me. I, of course, had to call ADT again, this time I get Netauri, from Account Management, and she is wonderful. She is doing everything she can to help, and she did get me a pretty good offer, but I would have to sign another 36 month contract. Okay, whatever you are offering me a good deal, but then here it comes, I have to pay for an activation. I have been a customer with ADT for 8 years, and they lost my business today because they wanted me to pay for another activation fee of $99.00, so that another tech could come out and replace all of the equipment that has not worked in months. I would not recommend ADT to anyone if they were last security system on this planet.

I had an appointment with an installer to reactivate my system in a house that I just purchased 01/31/23. The installer, Don came out to my house for the reactivating. He explained to me the system was antiquated. I agreed and by the time he left my bill was $3,500.00. I agreed to the charges. 90 days later I had a minor problem. My key pad was not installed properly. I scheduled a service call (one day in advance) and the tech came out. He fixed the key pad problem. He tied to help me hook up a couple switches I purchased and installed.he went into to the program from the back (which I can't access) he did some reconfiguring. When he left and I didn't know this till the next day, none of my connected devices worked. When I called support the nice lady on the phone did everything in her power to fix the problem but could not get it resolved. She switched me over to an appointment CSR. They told me they could only do a virtual appointment the next day in the afternoon when I was on the flight back home. I explained my situation to her but she/they did not care. I had to go buy another lock and install myself and connect to the system. No users codes work again. Obviously it's within their system. But they don't care. They upsell you, take your money and don't provide service.
Don't use this company. They take your money a run. I'm switching to another company ASAP.

I had ADT service for 20 years with no complaints. Unfortunately, I changed to their doorbell camera service... really bad move. I am now paying twice as much for service with which I have absolutely no confidence. Doorbell chimes that I sometimes miss because they are so low, now replace my previous loud clear doorbell. Most of the time the doorbell camera doesn't work so I have to press the doorbell button until it turns blue to get it back in service. I also learned from the very kind tech, who was out a week ago, that I receive text notifications when someone approaches. I thought I was going to get a tone. Sooo, I would have to be constantly looking at the phone, in order to not miss the notifications. If by chance I do see the notification (or even if I received a tone), by the time I access the camera on my phone, I can only hope it wasn't a culprit, because they would probably then be a mile away. Slow response. Yes, I am now paying twice as much for this lousy sytem. If I could have given this service no stars, instead of one, I most definitely would have.

If I could rate a zero I would have. I had a security system with ADT for 2 years. After the first 6 months in went down hill. Cameras not capturing motion. Alarm was triggered twice and ADT didn't even call us. When we called them they said everything on their end was good it could have been a system glitch. Thank goodness it was not an emergency. After the 3rd triggered alarm with no notification or call from them I called to request a tech come out because the cameras were still not recording clips as well. I was on hold for over an hour. Requested a Friday appointment, received text that it was a Thursday from 8-12. I left work came home. No tech showed. Once 1pm came I called them was on hold for and hour, was told my appointment was cancelled by the tech stating customer cancelled. Which I did not and lost pay for this 5 hour window. I asked for higher level service manager was transferred 5xs before being put back into que for another 1 hour wait time. WARNING DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Security system doesn't even work half the time.

Called for the service, they told me on the phone that the price was 30+ dollars and didn't tell me they charge for extras when they install and then I'm told the price is 55+ dollars for two years after two years they raise the price I tried to cancel they gave me a thousand reasons I couldn't I quit paying next thing I'm getting mail and calls for collection, never again will I have anything to with them

I have had ADT for several yrs now and have had problems from about 6 months in. Cameras do not work, replaced the doorbell cam several times. 9/10 times customer service was not helpful. This past May I was changing over my payment method and the customer service rep either decided to pay a family/friends account or put my information on another customers account bc my CC from May to July was charged over $600.00. I delt with ADT customer service via phone, messaging on the app and email. This took MANY hrs with it not being fixed. This is not to mention on the phone with my CC company and everyone I had to call to change up my auto bill pay. This was done TWICE! All ADT would say. Not sure what happened, we have no way to find out. BS! You are a security company and ALL CALLS ARE RECORDED! I have tried to cancel and they have yet to do so and continue to send me bills. When I call I am on hold for 30+ mins to either be told let me transfer you or I give up and hang up. This company is a scam!

FIRST THEY LIED, THEY NEVER PROVIDED THE CORRECT EQUIPMENT, THEY NEVER PROVIDED AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTIONS, THE HOLD TIME WAS OVER 42 MIN, NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY WERE DOING, EVERY TIME I CALLED THEY WOULD XFER ME TO ANOTHER IDIOT AND I WOULD HAVE TO START OVER AGAIN... AWFUL!

I gave my full trust and money to ADT to protect my families new home. We had a fire that has left our home uninhabitable for going on 3 weeks. When we returned home from a Sunday afternoon of picking pumpkins we walked into all three levels of our home filled with smoke and an active fire on our kitchen stove. It took us ten minutes but thank god we found our dog alive and hiding under a bed. I called ADT to report the lack of alarm during this incident. Two days later they sent a technician to our house to investigate the lack of alarm during our fire. The technician was kind and professional, he said our smoke/fire detectors were improperly placed and he physically moved all of our sensors to new locations. ADT and Safe Street (the contracted company that provides installation and management for first year) are currently passing responsibility back and forth on one another, all while refusing to cancel the remainder of my contract and reimburse me for the $10,000 that I spent on their "safety" equipment. It's bad enough to displace my family for several weeks and wrestle with insurance and contractors, but to have the people I entrusted with my families safety fail me and refuse to simply take responsibility is disgusting. ADT and Safe Street should be ashamed of themselves. I have obtained legal counsel at this time to help guide me to simply get a refund and cancellation of my 3 year contract, which I am 7 months into. I feel that it is my civic duty to warn other trusting families of the false promises and potentially dangerous and deadly situations that could occur as a result of failed safety promises of ADT and Safe Streets. I will be using all available social platforms to share my story.

I called to upgrade my system since i had the same system for close to 15 years and wanted an upgrade. Since October 2022 started shopping around and received a quote that was never honored. Called again and long story short was frustrated after 4 proposals were emailed to me and no one would honor. Decided to cancel 11/2022 and go with a different provider. Up until now they are still charging me and sent to collections although i canceled. Been trying to call and confirm cancelation and they keep telling me no notes on our end that you canceled. Transferred from department to department and the wait time was hours and hours. Supervisors not helpful at all they're a joke and sacarstic to say the least. They found it amusing that i was so frustrated. Asked them to pull the recorded calls to see how many time i called for the same issue and they just said someone will call you back. It's the worse NEVER consider a company that treats the customers the way this company does. The reviews here say it all 1 star. I'd rate 0 if possible. I'm now dealing with collections thanks to ADT. Had my parents cancel their service for the same reason and ADT tried to charge more than what they pay monthly but due to my experience i called the bank to block ADT from future withdrawals. They are such a horrible company. I've never ever dealt with a company this bad in my life. Hence the reviews.
