One month, and hours of calling and getting hung up on, I was told (by Ms. Maxwell, also helpful) to call and ask for the Account management Team to get results. I called and was connected to Kiana who was the kindest most helpful person ever. She was able to resolve a problem I had with two cameras that stopped working and no longer had any support. She took the time to make sure all my concerns were answered and taken care of. Than you Kiana for being the customer service specialist we all wish to talk to. Brian
We have been with ADT for over 34 years. We are a retired couple on a fixed income. I recently installed an alarm system to try and save some money. I called to cancel, and they say I am under contract until June of next year and that we owe close to $300. Last time was talked to ADT we thought we were month to month contract. I talked to several people in billing, and none of them said they could do anything to forgive the charge. In the last 34 years, we've paid ADT over $20,000. I am amazed at how heartless this company is. I would strongly recommend using a different company when it comes to security.
After 3 days of frustrations from dealing with 8 or more sales persons, customer service folks and 2 technicians that did not deliver I decided to JUST CANCEL OUT my account!
This strategy finally got me in touch with an ADT Manager named Keirra. This magnificent lady resolved my concerns and kept me as a customer. First, she LISTENED to all my concerns. She definitely ensured that I obtained customer satisfaction. (My rating is not inclusive of her expert services--She's a top notched manager!)
To mention several of my issues, hopefully, will motivate this business to focus upon consumer concerns.

**the problems I encountered easily could have been solved had they listened rather than out talking me
**the technicians installed a system that failed to satisfy my original upgrade request (no fault of theirs, as they were executing the work order given to them)
As a retired navy telecommunications system expert of 20 years, it irkes me when I am "baffled and dazzled" with inexperienced, nontechnical sales people who should be better trained in understanding the concerns of consumers.
After observing this extreme level of inefficiency for 3 days, I was truly fed up to the point of closing an account that I've had for 8 1/2 years.
Again, THANKS TO A MANAGER NAMED Keirra, who saved the day.

Simply put: ADT is an unscrupulous, bait-and-switch business, and should be avoided at all costs.
I signed up for the service vis phone and was promised $20/month for the 1st 12 months and $28/month for the following 24 months.
The installation tech arrived and wanted to walk thru every room and around the whole outside of the house, continuously pointing out all the "vulnerable" areas. In hindsight, I should have recognized he was preparing me for a pressure-packed upsell to switch from the basic package I ordered to a much more expensive package. I told him no, I just wanted the basic system. He kept pushing hard to get me to agree on a more expensive system to be installed. He was trying to force me to sign his ipad agreeing to the higher priced system, saying he didn't know anything about a $28/month deal and that I was going to be billed $37/month. I ordered him to leave my house and as he was packing his equipment, he was uttering angry words in Spanish. I didn't know if he was threatening me or just cursing me out, but I was then getting concerned about my personal safety and the security of my home and property since he was now intimately familiar with all of it, and he had my credit card number.
I reached out to ADT through twitter and was told someone would contact me within (I believe) 2 days so I could lodge a complaint. This went on for about 2 weeks as I recall with no one ever contacting me. Finally, after a few more tries via twitter I was contacted by a low level person with no authority. I demanded to be contacted by a senior level person because I wanted ADT management to know how badly their people treat their customers. That was over a month ago. Nobody from ADT has contacted me since.
Tip for consumers:
Don't let ADT people walk through and surveil your whole house. If you do business with them, keep them confined to only the areas of your house wherein they need to do their work. Don't give them your credit card number.

I had adt for 3 days...they were dishonest about pricing they lied and in those 3 days I was left on hold for a combined 22 HOURS...22 HOURS...

I started out with the chat option. The issue I am having is that I'm moving into a new apartment and I called ADT a couple weeks ago to have the service cancelled. They offered new equipment and a lower rate at the new location. So I agreed. My move out date was pushed out another week. I asked to have to the date moved from 9/22 to 9/29. I started with the chat option and I simply asked to change the date. I stated restated regurgitated and stated it again too an agent named Thomas. He could not grasp my request. I let him go and called in. The agent, Jennifer, listened to my request put me on hold came back to verify my request put me on hold came back again too tell me she was transferring me to another department. Here we go again. I believe her name was Shantel. Re explained everything, I was put on hold several times so that she could look into my request. She finally came back w an answer which was she is changing the date but it takes 30 days for ADT to cut off the service. Which means I I will be paying for a service in which I am not using for a month. I've had the service for 2 years. I'm not defaulting on my contact and this was not explained to me when I originally called to transfer service. I was so done with their lack of customer service that I told the agent "nevermind, I'll go to the new apartment and take the new equipment and return it and go with another company". Who would trust their security to a company like this? Not me. Anyone reading this please let me know where else I can leave this review because ADT knows so much that they are a rotten company that they don't even allow for reviews on their own website. The also don't have an option to email.

After doing my research and talking with different security companies, I chose ADT because their products would meet my needs per information given to me by ADT representatives. After installation and signing a contract, I found that the outdoor security camera I had been told would record 24/7 did not do that at all. The camera only records when motion has been detected, and the motion range is approximately 15 feet. That makes the camera worthless for the purpose for which I had it installed. When I called on March 11,2019, to inform the company and see what they were going to do to remediate the problem, I was transferred from one department to another, finally being told that someone would call me later that same day. No one has called. I have emailed corporate customer relations and am waiting to see if the company responds. In addition to the misinformation I was given about the camera recording 24/7 during the 1 hour I was on the phone and got nowhere, an ADT representative told me that the motion sensor on the Ring Doorbell camera could be adjusted to pick up motion at 30 feet. I had just spoken with Ring the day before, so I knew that was incorrect. Representatives have lied about their products. When I told some of the people with whom I spoke on March 11 about the incorrect information I had been given, I was told that they were "sorry" and that the problem would be addressed with those employees. How does that help me? I am stuck with a camera that does not meet my needs for the 3 years of my contract. If I don't pay them, that is breach of contract. If they deliver products that do not perform as the customer has been promised, that is not breach of contract?

1st, I want to say, the ONLY PERSON (MANGER) that showed a willingness and concern in helping me and my family in my current situation is Beverly. She was great and the only reason iam considering stay with ADT. These monitored and recorded calls should be reviewed often servicely. I was on call with a rep trying to explain my situation while trying to asking for a MANGER. The rep I was speaking to kept cutting me off, then HE says OMG like I was annoying him. For 4 days in a row I have been trying to get answers about my account and get it situated. While they are doing updates to their system or whatever, ADT REPS should be more patient and understanding with OUR frustration as THEIR customers. Calling ADT asking for a MANGER is like finding a needle in a hay stack, they don't understand what get me a manger means. I say this because I work in retail and it comes with a lot of patient and understanding for sure, and I believe I have been very patient, til this day my account still hasn't been fixed and iam still having issues and trying to reach a manger.
THIS company wants money and CANNOT FIX this situation. Do not believe what the ADT reps tell you, they will sell anything to get your business/money, then later on you will hear a different story about the something/situation from someone else.

ADT salesman came to my door when I first bought a house and convinced me to sign up. The tech came out and spent all his time trying to upsell me and was here for like two hours spending most the time on upsales. He handed me the tablet and said this is the contract for three years with these devices sign here, blah blah blah. Fast forward three months and a strong wind storm blew in a window and set off the alarm, which I learned I could not hear while upstairs. The police came as promised but without a doorbell were unable to reach me. I then received a ticket in the mail for failure to obtain an alarm permit. I had NO idea that was even a thing, let alone that one was even needed. I called ADT and they said that informing me of the Permit is not their responsibility. I told them I wanted to cancel and they sent me to the sub company that apparently is the one that my services are through. They told me that I should have received an email notifying me of the permit. I searched my inbox and there was only a sales receipt from them. I never received it. They were trying to figure out if they could credit me the ticket or waive the cancellation fee and promised to call me back. Never got a call. So I called the next day and talked to a super fake "chipper" manager. Who said that there is also a line in the electronic contract that says there may be a requirement to get an alarm permit based on the municipality. So that clears them of being in the wrong. I asked why o don't have a copy of the electronic contract and they coups not answer but sent me a copy after we ended the call. Unbelievable experience. They lost a customer because of bad sales and technicians over $187 ticket that was not my fault. Do not recommend them, there are better agencies and systems out there.

This review is for ADT Security Blue. Run away as fast as you can would be my advice. I called ADT after looking up the reviews, checking with the better business, etc. I signed up with the service not realizing that I was signing up with ADT Blue and it was a different self service within their company and that I had been signed up for it. I received a box of equipment to install just before Christmas not knowing I had a month to install it myself or be subjected to a $2000 fee that must be paid before I could cancel the contract. I called the wrong number for 3 months and was passed around constantly trying to get someone out to my home to set up their service. I was put on hold for hours at a time, listening to a "warped sounding recording" on the "wrong" service line that was given to me to call for help. It was only after I found a cancellation form online and submitted it that I received the correct phone number by way of email. The email read I had to call that number to confirm cancellation. I called and actually reached a live person fairly quickly then was told my service would not be cancelled and couldn't not be cancelled unless $2000 was paid prior. When I asked for a supervisor, of course the supervisor was busy in a meeting and would call back. When I stated I would stop further payment I was threatened with ruining of my credit and being turned into a collection agency. I never installed this service. It's still in the box, I was given the wrong number for assistance and continuously passed around to different departments which I would still be in if I had not been so tired of listening to that horrible, awful, warped sounding hold music and decided that enough was enough. Now to "wipe" them off my shoes for lack of a better analogy, I have to pay $2000 and have my credit ruined?! Run as fast as you can from this company is my advice!

The people you speak to on the phone have not been trained and can only follow a script. There is not enough space to write a review of all the terrible things they did. After 4 months and uncounted number of hours on the phone I have finally been able to sever myself from them and get my money back.

I had a protection one system, it was getting quite old. After ADT bought out to Protection One, I was told that ADT had a better and more up-to-date system, I used both with smart home features. After much trouble purchasing the new system, I had my system changed to the new AT&T system.
If I had to do over again I would've kept the old protection One system or change to a Rng system. My experience with ADT from day one to the present is horrible in every aspect.
The salesman sold me items that were not usable with the new system, he misrepresented what it would do and didn't know much of anything except how to sell.
Upon installation I was told I needed to pay more money, for the items that were usable, as the salesman had not included them in my bill. I did not yet know that they were have no purpose for me
The installer did next to nothing to inform me on how the system worked and left no owners manuals. Upon my request the salesman sent me some links to information that told me nothing.
The connectivity between the home systems in the alarm is very poor and much worse than the old protection one system or a ring system.
The system will arm with doors or windows open, which can be a problem due to the slow connection between my homes wired sensors and the ATT controller.
The controls in the house are basically useless as you need to use the ADT app to do most operations of the system.
After paying for a year service in advance for the new system, ADT kept billing me for the old system. I have made many calls to resolve this but it is still not resolved. I told the sales manager how unhappy I was with the system and the fact I was being billed for the old system, he said he would take care of the billing and set up an service call, to try and resolve some of my issues with the system. The billing was not resolved and the service call was never fulfilled. To this date they have over billed me over $200 and sent me a credit for about $41.
BUYER BEWARE, the contract you sign, eliminates you being able to get out of this horrible service and system for many years.
