One month, and hours of calling and getting hung up on, I was told (by Ms. Maxwell, also helpful) to call and ask for the Account management Team to get results. I called and was connected to Kiana who was the kindest most helpful person ever. She was able to resolve a problem I had with two cameras that stopped working and no longer had any support. We have been with ADT for over 34 years. We are a retired couple on a fixed income. I recently installed an alarm system to try and save some money. I called to cancel, and they say I am under contract until June of next year and that we owe close to $300. Last time was talked to ADT we thought we were month to month contract. I talked to several people in billing, and none of them said they could do anything to forgive the charge. In the last 34 years, we've paid ADT over $20,000. I am amazed at how heartless this company is. I would strongly recommend using a different company when it comes to security.
Like many of the complaints, I'm having the same problem getting my refund. Been with ADT for over 7 years. Finally decide to cancel. Called in early June to cancel and thought that was done. They charged me for July. Called ADT again, the agent said it was a mistake and my account will get cancelled this time. Now it's August and I am charged again. Absolutely frustrating having to deal with this shady tactic with a company of this caliber. Over $22 they have lost a customer for life.

I have such a delay from when my camera notifies me that some one is on the porch and the delay of the camera to spool up. I may catch them walking away. Not to mention when the door bell finally rings on my phone. They are for sure walking away. It takes at least 45 seconds! ADT can't find anything wrong!

We're having problems with our alarm that keep on beeping for 3 weeks. We requested for technician to fix it. They drag you around and guide for troubleshooting. When you talked to they're customer service they hang up. Looks like they don't have manner's. Is this a good security system that you have a problem they don't take care of their customers. Hope they don't get next month bill. That our system is no longer in our house.

Our cameras frequently disconnect and you are only given a 90 warranty. After that you pay service calls and equipment or parts replacement or you fix your cameras yourself as instructed via phone calls. At 81 years old it is unsafe for anyone to have to climb a 12ft ladder to reset their cameras on a concrete driveway. There are no exceptions for their service fees. We occasionally set our alarm off accidentally and maybe twice in 18 months have received a call inquiring about the alarm. You cannot get out of your contract without paying the initial 36 month contract total in full even though you did not get a quality piece of equipment. Just dont!

Had equipment installed about a month ago. Every night at 11pm it goes of saying the panel is being tampered with cops come out I tell them it's a faulty system it's getting old fast. Customers support is not helpful at all it a loop of questions.

I stopped my service with ADT 4 months ago after about 6 years and spent over two hours on the phone trying to cancel my service. I kept been transferred from one department to another and after hours of waiting to resolve the issue, I hung up. I do not have a contract with you and do not owe you any money. You ought to know if you have an effective monitoring service, you'd know that my property is been monitored by a different provider. Your customer service team needs more training. I'll never use ADT service again.

Wait time is unacceptable and when finally get someone they don't have the knowledge to assist, therefore, you're transferred to another no knowledge. When wait time exceeds and your asked for a call back, the return call takes longer than the original call made to speak with someone. When a tech comes out he doesn't know why he's here. No correct communication was made regarding the problem. The call center wants you to do all the problem solving virtually plus pay the monthly fee. Unsatisfactory service.

My alarm has gone off twice and not one call from adt. I could be dead. The cameras are horrible. Service is really bad. The goof from safe haven set my entry and exits incorrectly and I can't change them because of the way it was set up & adt can't seem to help. It's just bad. I will never use them again.

I had a number of low battery messages but I did not know which monitors were malfunctioning. I called and was told we can do this virtually and batteries would be mailed to me (free under my plan) or for $59 someone can come out and put the batteries in. No mention of a charge for labor.
I chose the $59 to save me the trouble of going up a ladder at my age. The bill comes and it is for more than $200, batteries plus labor.
I have now spent three hours bouncing from one department to another, long wait times. And no one seems able to resolve this. I have asked them to listen to the original phone call to no avail.

Service is OK, but when it comes to customer service it suffers badly. We sold our home and simply wanted to cancel our service, but in no way were they going to do that. In one call alone I was transferred six (6) times. That last was an experience I never want have again. In the second call I was transferred immediately and waited eternally before hanging up. Never again will I ever use ADT as my security provider.

The equipment broke completely in 3 months. Customer service never answers the phone. They said it would cost me $60 for a service call to fix their own faulty stuff. They told me to " read the fine print". A fraudulent, unreliable company. Do not get this service unless you are completely insane.

I've been a customer since 2010, nothing but long wait times and inconvenience when trying to contact them. I was having an issue with my back door sensor I called for service but instead of sending someone out. They charged me $53 for a new sensor and told me I'd have to install it. Before the sensor came I discovered the only thing wrong was that the battery needed changing son once the new sensor came I returned it back to adt. I called a few days later to check the status of my and I've been getting the run around every since today is August 8th it has now been a month and one day. I believe it's time for a new alarm company this is not the first time I've had issues getting a refund.

I was an ADT customer for 4+ years. During the time I had service, it was was not good. I upgraded my internet to the best speed and still my cameras did not connect until after the person was gone. I tried a few times to get ADT to do something but they always blamed it on the connection. When I called to cancel the service due to moving with my partner and not needing it at his house, they not only charged me for an additional month, they also made me pay everything for the rest of my current contract! I am so upset over this and would never recommend getting stuck with this company.

I became a customer of adt nearly 6 years ago and twice they upgraded their system to where the equipment they sold me is so out dated that it is no longer compatible with their system. Instead of upgrading my equipment they've told me I have to pay $800 to get the new equipment. I had a 5 year contract with them that I still had 2 years left on. I refuse to spend another dollar on their terrible service and terrible equipment-especially since there's no guarantee that it will work for the duration of my contract. Terrible customer service as well. I've spent countless hours on hold trying to get help with their faulty equipment. I cancelled my contract and they send me a bill for $800 due to cancellation. Seriously…avoid this company at all cost.

The service is poor. They had someone who was not qualified to install the alarm system. The gentleman bent up my vinyl siding lon come my house. I refuse to pay them until they fix everything damaged. They just continue sending me bills. I would not recommend this company to no one. I will take them to court. I'm tire of calling them to fix everything. It's. Been over a year & they have not sent anyone to fix anything. My son car was hit in front of my door and the car did not work & the person kept going. What good for was the camera, not working as always. I s go pulse never be sent a bill. Their system breaks all the time, u ll need a technician to repair the issue, cuz they can't charge u for the service as u it's included in your monthly bill 65$, they ll charge u "trip charge" 60$ for MA residents. Totally ridiculous company and I can't wait to be done with them.

Had ADT home security installed June 2019. Installers were professional, but tried to provide items beyond the agreed sale. Sales offered a free camera but failed to tell us about the expensive monthly service fee. Monthly bill was supposed to be about $45 but has been about $55. Have had to call in every month for an adjustment. ADT representatives have been condescending and rude. Will never have ADT in another home.

Spoke with 6 different representatives, none of them were able to help me, they kept transferring me and after an hour and half waiting to be attended they hang up on me. They did not proceed my cancelation 2 months ago when I requested it, they did charge me the equipment back then, but 2 month later I received another bill that I was late for my monthly payments... now they want me to pay for a service that I never used because the person that supposed to process the cancelation never did it. And they simply don't care to help me.

My alarm went off while I was home on 6/18. No one from ADT called me. I had to walk around my house at night in the dark with mace looking for why my basement door was open. No one called me from ADT. I called them on 6/21 to ask why. Someone was suppose to get back to me within 24 hours and and didn't. I called again on 6/23 and relayed the same information and was transferred to another department where no one picked up. I think they have a staffing shortage so go elsewhere. I plan on finding another alarm company... BUYER BEWARE!

ADT company is fraud, cheaters and liars. Their local service techs are very nice but the sales and managers are full of stories, unprofessional and liars. Watch your statement every month to see if these fraud have charged you more than your monthly service fees, watch it even though you are on a auto pay.

NEVER USE ADT. I had their system on my small business and the alarm failed to go off during a burglary and neither I nor the police were notified of the situation. As a consequence the burglars were in my store for 5 hours and stole hundreds of thousands of dollars of merchandise, nearly putting me out of business. ADT has refused to let me out of contract despite this failure of thier system and has given me the option to either keep paying monthly until the end of my contract or pay out the remainder of the contract. This is insane. Never use their terrible product. This has been far and away the most disappointing business i have ever worked with in the 13 years I have been in business.

Do not fall for this trap of getting ADT Home Security. They have the worst customer service and you are locked into a service contract for 5 years without a way out! You will spend hours on the phone being transferred from person to person repeating yourself. Only to get someone who will then try and extort you by telling you they need your credit card number to pay for services that you are covered for in your service agreement! I had a sensor defect and the entire system stopped working, are you kidding, 1 window sensor failed in less than 30 days into my service agreement and the entire system fails to work?! I can't say it enough GO ELSEWHERE! You will regret being forced to stay with this company for 5 freaking years because you only have a 3-day cancellation period! I will also be filing a complaint with the BBB.

I regret getting involved with ADT. The customer service isn't very good, and you get bounced around and put on hold. The system itself is very basic and I feel I could have found a better system for much less. I am now in a 36-month contract with a company I would rather not deal with. The only way to get out of the contract is to pay them 75% of what is left on the contract. No question that one can find a better alarm system and get it monitored for much less. Do not sign a contract with ADT as you will be joining the thousands of folks who wish they hadn't. The six months guarantee does not have much value and is basically just a marketing tool. Read the reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. This is a one-star company and should be avoided.

BUYER BEWARE: the "early" cancellation fee is HUGE. If you need to end a contract early, you pay 75% of the contract balance. I cancelled my system 3 years early because I was relocating. I moved to an apartment building with keyed access. I was charged $1,200 for the cancellation!
Note: What's really upsetting is that I've been a customer for 15 years, at two different residences. ADT is *not* customer facing. They have a total disregard for customer loyalty. Had I ever needed an alarm system in the future, I would've gone with ADT. But now -- they've lost a customer for life.

We're new homeowners and an ADT representative came up to us and convinced us to sign up. WORST MISTAKE. We pay 70 a month for a 2 year contract and the cameras have sucked from the start. Constantly going in and out the first month. They finally went completely out and they're telling us that we have to pay $60 for a guy to come fix it. Really? We have to pay because your equipment sucks? Please, please, please - RUN away from this company and go with something more simple like a ring camera. Totally not worth the hassle.
