One month, and hours of calling and getting hung up on, I was told (by Ms. Maxwell, also helpful) to call and ask for the Account management Team to get results. I called and was connected to Kiana who was the kindest most helpful person ever. She was able to resolve a problem I had with two cameras that stopped working and no longer had any support. She took the time to make sure all my concerns were answered and taken care of. Than you Kiana for being the customer service specialist we all wish to talk to. Brian
We have been with ADT for over 34 years. We are a retired couple on a fixed income. I recently installed an alarm system to try and save some money. I called to cancel, and they say I am under contract until June of next year and that we owe close to $300. Last time was talked to ADT we thought we were month to month contract. I talked to several people in billing, and none of them said they could do anything to forgive the charge. In the last 34 years, we've paid ADT over $20,000. I am amazed at how heartless this company is. I would strongly recommend using a different company when it comes to security.
ADT pulse system does not work. They have no credibility. When they advised me they would refund me the fees, they didn't. Then, there is zero customer support to help resolve the issue. Emails / phone calls are not returned. I emailed customer support today and will see if they respond. Based on their pattern the last two years, they won't. I would not even entertain using them. Once they have your credit card number, you're paralyzed.

Called to let them hear the cheap battery operated alarms going off as home filled with smoke,while ADT alarm remained silent! One would think that would set off some alarm that their system had failed us but… instead they shared they were a week out In getting a service call to us and oh we will be charged to have them come and Fix their own equipment ( in which we are paying monthly for)
To add insult to injury they went ahead and charged us for another month! As we refused to pay another month of literally NO protection ADT turned us over to collections for $35.30! We had their service for over 20 years! Shame on you ADT

If you are lucky enough to get someone on the phone they are in Dominican Republic and have a hard time communicating with US customer. I have had to call 3 times and get the wrong advice each time. They want you to use Chat. But it never connects. Wait time for customer service is terrible.

My name is Dave Powell. I have used this company for 28 years, and in January 2022, I paid to upgrade my system to the new ADT control smart house system. Unfortunately, it has only worked for 14 days with a problem. I have had several service calls and several phone calls to their office to get items repaired. I have asked for seiner repair techs, and they send techs that do not know the equipment. We have spent several thousands of dollars on this system, and we no longer can even turn it on without clearing all of the problems in the system. I have asked to have a seiner tech and requested they call me before coming, and they do not call, but they do call the wrong phone number. This security upgrade has been a disaster getting this new system.
And the biggest insult to this is I am still paying my monthly cost and ADT will not return my calls

We have had ADT out to our home 3 times to fix our bad service. Each time they have come up with excuses that I need to up grade my system and each time it costs me more money. The expert service tech George told me that just for 1800. 00 more I can get a hard wired system that would work better. ADT is a scam with bad service. My ring service was better.

Any issues with your service and you are on your own. You can never get anyone who speaks English that is easily understood to answer the phone. The wait time is ridiculously long, they will not come out unless you pay them, no matter the issue. There is no customer service just customer ripoff. Go with a locally owned company that actually cares. This hugh commercialized company is all about how much money they can get out of you upon installation, then you can forget calling someone with a question and getting any help within a short period of time. How can the wait time be 47 minutes all day long each time I called. Days later and still no resolution to my problem. Run!

For my home, I found ADT to be more expensive than its competitors. I'm not saying it's bad but I don't think for home security its as good of a value as many others. I got cheaper quotes from Protect America and I thought Alarm.com was a lot better.

You have to be careful if you have a problem with your bill. These people are in no hurry to correct a mistake. I have had my bank trying to help resolve the matter and it still has been months with no success. It is just lousy customer service.

Because ADT's base charge is so high, a customer might think that would reflect a desire to provide good service and cover any niggling charges. That would be wrong. The company does all it can to bleed customers for any small service. Anything that goes wrong with the control panel requires removing a cover that is attached by a screw with very little tread that a normal screw driver cannot open. So, does ADT provide customers with the special screw driver needed to open the cover, say when they ship a replacement battery? Of course not. They would rather charge $69 for a technician to come out, with the promise that if there is anything wrong with the screw, the technician will waive the fee. The technician denies that he can waive the fee. Then, the billing department denies that they can adjust fees. Horrible, expensive service.

I am currently a customer and want to get rid of ADT. Very worst services.
I have recurring issues, the technician comes and clears the message and goes off, same day the fire message pops up without any fire in the home, thy again charge money to secure another service call and this is continuing since 1 year. Very bad company to go with ADT. I would never recommend ADT.
Customer service - every day you try any time you have to wait minimum 45mins. Very sad that I signed contract with these useless people. Waste of money and time.

We just spent over 3k to get out of our contract. Our equipment never worked properly from the beginning. I worked with multiple managers and even tried to cancel during our 6 month window. The manager Tyrone promised to cancel my equipment fees and put me on month to month. After a couple of bills when this didn't change he no longer took my calls and customer service said I would have to pay full price to get out since the 6 month had now passed. This is the most unethical company I have ever even heard of.

This is the worst company EVER! They provide equipment that doesn't work, make you pay for it and they are VERY rude. Save yourself money and time, get a camera system and monitor it yourself. ADT does NOT even come on time. Your house will be robbed if you go with ADT!

I called ADP yesterday to cancell my service primarily bc the raised the montly fee again. Every years it is few more dollars. Now that I am retired I planned to go with an alarm system like Ring or one of the others. The customer service rep was extremely intimidating and told me horror story about the Ring alarm system. They told me I would be charged more for my Home Owners Insurance and no one would come to my aide if I was broken into, etc. Then he tried to convince my lowering my monthy rate from $62 to $25. I told him my mind was made up bc ADT customer service is not that great either. Changed me $75 to come out and put a battery in my motion detector even though I told them I was in a wheelchair and could not reach it. He continued to try and intimidate me and I shut the call down. Today ADT called me 4 times, but I did not answer the phone. I am relieved to have left this behind.

I've used ADT for the past two years. We are selling our house and building a new home, so I called to cancel my service while our new home is being built. When I originally called to cancel, they told me that the cancellation fee would be waived since I would be hooking up service when the home is done. That was great! This was until I received a cancellation bill in the mail for over $500. I called and asked why and they explained that since I wasn't transferring service within the next 90 days, they would still have to charge me the cancellation. I will never be using them again. This is ridiculous and they have lost what would have been a loyal customer.

If someone's break in alarm goes off, how are they supposed to respond to a text message What happened to speaking through the speaker & dispatching policeWe could have been in harm & ADT texted us & called with automated message. We never spoke to a person. And to make matters worse they cancelled the alarm without knowing if we were ok. Alarm was blaring for 10 minutes. I'm in disbelief that they would do such a thing. Careless!

I try to cancel the ADT service and I learned I can only do it over the phone. No email, no letter! And the wait time is 50 minutes. I was told there is always high call volume with that department and the company doesn't even bother to do anything. I am suspecting it seems like a deliberate strategy to discourage clients to cancel the service. It says so much things about this company!

In December of 2021 I received a price increase from ADT on my 10 year old alarm system. I called to contest it and they agreed to keep the rate at the old price for three years. However, subsequent bills were at the new higher rate. I continued to pay quarterly at the old agreed upon rate. Finally I called and they admitted they agreed to the lower rate but said they could not honor it and I would have to pay the higher rate. When I asked for a supervisor they disconnected me. When I called to cancel my service they again hung up on me. I received a survey about my call, and needless to say I responded negatively and received an email which I responded to asking for a supervisor to call me. Of course, no one called! If anyone thinks Comcast service is bad, ADT takes bad to a whole new level. Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Corrupt way of operating and this is the first time I have ever been blatantly lied to by a major company of this size.

The adt sales people hid facts and then give you a service contract that locks you into extremely costly services you did not ask for over a three year period. We asked for emergency services only and are now stuck with computer monitoring we did not want. The contract small print can not be understood. Do not work with them. Simplesafe would have been so much safer!

When a company locks you in for 3 years... RUN! Just the mechanics of ADT are pitiful and inconsistent. The camera works... sometimes. Why do I care if my next door neighbor drives out of the garage when I cannot get an activity reading of people approaching my home or in FRONT of my own garage? The real time camera works... sometimes. And Sometimes is the most frequent time next to not working at all. The quality of the sevice quickly degrades within the first year. I'm just going to let it fade and change companies when my contract is up because just to get a tech to talk to you... not fix anything... is upwards of $50. Warn your family and friends. RUN... don't walk... away from ADT.

The previous owners had ADT and I chose another company. So I have to listen to this clicking noise the system makes all throughout the day until their cancellation date. They have long contracts and you get stuck in them - sometimes other people like me get stuck too! I have been listening to this noise for a month! I have to temporarily disarm the system every time it does it which customer service informed of. It does it at 4:30 a.m.! I do not have a passcode and the system makes the noise whenever it gets ready. I'm lost behind the logic. Customer service is rude and confused about policies. I just want the system removed from my home which I had to send in paperwork that I was the owner now. It is an older system with holes and wires going through my wall. They will not remove it. Yet, I have to wait until the cancellation date and call again so they will tell me how to power the system down. I shopped around and chose another company. I would not recommend ADT to my enemy!

I am pleased to say that I had a rep, Shuntria Matthews who was the best rep I have ever received help from. She helped me with an issue that I had been dealing with a door sensor for over a month. She went the extra mile by setting up an installation appointment so that J could receive a replacement sensor. Shuntria is what you would call a model employee who needs to hold a class to teach others how to treat loyal customers. Thank you Shuntria and your help was definitely appreciated!

I have been a customer for over 14 years and recently wanted to get ADT for my elderly Mom. The sales person was rude at times, gave inaccurate information just to make a sale in my opinion and now I've been trying to fix all the issues, and have been switched from person to person, discounted with no call back even through they stated they would call me back. I have never had this experience with ADT and would not go with ADT as a new customer based on all these issues. I've spent over 4 hours between sales and trying to get all the issues resolved and I'm still not done. They need to train their employees to gave accurate information, call back when they say they will and work harder to support long time customers.

I was having trouble with my carbon dioxide detector. It was chirping. I changed the battery, and it still chirped. I attempted to call to talk with someone, but one automated call tree after another connected me with someone who did not speak native English. I gave them a try, but with me repeating, and them repeating, it was painful. I tried "chatting", which is even worse. I've burned two hours on this and the best answer I have is to change to another company. ADT should charge a dollar more and hire someone in the U.S. I gave them one star because sitejabber would not allow me to give zero.

I would not give them 1 star. They are some cold hearted crooks that try to take your money! They bounce you around from one customer service rep to another so they can wait you out. Customer Sales Rep are unknowledgeable about customers account or at least they try to act like the are. Supervisors and Reps sounds like loan sharks with no hearts. Find another company to service your home. I'm getting Vivint to buy them out hopefully they won't be nothing like these Crooks.
