As a pastor i look for businesses such as this one who post a testimony of their relationship with the Lord. In dealing with the issue of the install now being estimated well past their 120 day goal I hit some snags in dealing with the company. However Alan himself expressed that his desire was to make things right and that is exactly what he did. A person's character shines true when the situation becomes difficult and in this case Alan showed his genuine concern for his customers.
When I ordered my carport on-line I selected the color CLAY for my sides. At the time I made my selection selection CLAY was a fairly dark, reddish color. By the time Alan's arrived to install my carport, at least 4 months later the color of my sides were very different from what I'd ordered. As of now the color listed as CLAY on their website has changed to a light tan & the color I'd ordered is no longer available. I had ordered a sandstone roof and on my installed carport I can't tell the difference between the color of the sides and the roof. On-line when I designed my carport the CLAY was darker & redder & set off the sandstone roof nicely. Now the carport appears to be entirely the same color and looks dull and kind of ugly. Also, my garage doors were not installed correctly and need to be corrected as they can't be latched. Also they latch from the outside, which seems kind of dumb and adds the need for a padlock to secure them. The actual installation of the metal building was well done though. Overall my experience with Alan's Factory Outlet was not a good one. I wouldn't deal with this company in the future. I was never informed of the color changes or contacted to see how my installation had gone and I feel cheated.
The installation team was very professional and did a great job. The structure itself was exactly as expected...good quality, reasonably priced.

I wish someone had explained to me when I placed the order that it would take 3-4 months to receive and get the carport installed.
Ordering on the website was very easy and the price was very reasonable, at $400 to $600 less than local merchants for a similar product.

Went very smooth and easy in ordering my cover so far. Delivery went great also arrived on time and were finished with cover in just under two hours.
Overall I was satisfied with Alan's. I was not satisfied with Carolina Carports who came out to install. Missed the scheduled date and didn't call until 9:15pm to say that they weren't going to be able to make it out and wanted to come back at 6:30am the next morning while my family was still asleep. Said they would come that evening instead and did not show up. Was charged a return trip fee when they did come back about 3 or 4 weeks later. Called me to say my area wasn't level but they could make it work if I purchased 7ft legs and they would cut them down and dig out where needed. When I got home it was not sitting level and is jacked higher on one side. To me, it was a hurry up job and move on to the next one. No personal touch to make it right. Again, Alan's was great, just not satisfied with their install contractor's. If you are uncertain about the area where you are going to have a carport installed, call someone local to have them come out and look at it to tell you ahead of time what you are going to need and explain things to you. It may cost you a few more $ but in the end I believe it would be worth it.
I talked to a sales representative, she was very helpful and polite. Also the installers where fast and did a great job, very satisfied!
